I have never been to a clinic with more caring and compassionate people. From my counselor to the nurses and can't forget about Joe. I have been to every clinic and always felt that they only cared about the money but, not here. They work with you if you work with them. This was also the first time I was able to stop using. It's very clean and I never had a single problem with anyone here. They really care and it was refreshing. It is sad that I am moving to Utah because I am going to miss these guys! The doctor here is a complete @ssh0le and was extremely ill-mannered and even argumentative with me until I cried and then had a full blown panic attack. (He already knew of my social anxiety diagnosis and my panic disorder prior to this) So I left and never went back!!!!! Probably the best decision I've ever made. Shoutout to my old counselor, Arthur. I hope he never leaves this type of career because he's made for it! Very kind, caring, and relatable. Over time, of course, there were some low points in my life, everybody has them, and Arthur was really my best friend. He literally helped save my life. The ladies behind the front desk are lovely, young, friendly AND competent. I cant say the same for the man who works behind the desk when the women have their days off........ and ya, all of that is great (and I hope they themselves read this!) but The problem with this place is that they tend to be slow, like... VERY slow for absolutely no apparent reason! AND.... Plus, obviously if you go to a clinic, you WILL see this doctor several times. Horrible and disgusting person that he is and even more time consuming because he is slow as well. Anyway, with the help of the methadone clinic that I switched to, TODAY IM OVER 6 MONTHS SOBER, completely finished with my methadone detox, and never looking back! But I could never and will not step foot into this place after the humiliation and accusations the doctor put me through, WHEN SHIIIIIT I WAS JUST TRYNA GET CLEAN!! It was very traumatizing for me to the point where I wasn't even able to speak of or write something about my experience like this until now, a couple months later.... If you choose to go to this place for whatever reason, I hope for your sake that the doctor doesn't take a huge shit on your character like he did to me. (and yes, unfortunately there is only one doctor there) And I hope Arthur is your counselor, lol. also and lastly, I wasn't kidding about the SLOW thing; one time I got there 30 min -- 1 hour before they even opened so essentially I was the first patient there and I didn't even get my medicine and take home medicine until FIVE HOURS later when I finally complained that I was withdrawing badly in their waiting room. (I'm shy) lol. One of the girls behind the counter ran to get me cold water and the trashcan bucket in case I was ggoing to throw up. Gisele is such a sweetheart. I know she doesn't really control anything besides checking me in @ the front desk so none of the other stuff is her fault, she was just doing the best she could for me. But, 5 hours? I mean come on. It's all pretty hard and everything but if you really want to change... this works. I came to ALTRecovery Group after my usual rock bottom... I did my last shot the night before and kissed it goodbye and it has changed my life completely. It was January 24,I was completely broken when I walked in and by January 26 I had a job interview and what is ever crazier is that by the Thursday January 27 I had a job. Yes the taste of Methadone sucks so bad and going everyday is super annoying but you can do it. Start with walking or calling in. The staff is beyond exceptional, starting with Giselle at the front desk, Marks counseling that deserves a co pay, required or not (inside joke ) and of course Michelle who will always be our liege not only because she hands us our methadone but because she is simply the best. I owe so much to ALT... I really do, I mean come on, it's August and I'm moving up in the company where I work that I can't believe the life I was living before. I have an important question I've been coming to ALT.RECOVERY GROUP since it opened it's doors, it never seems to amaze me that a professional place such as ALT.and everything is operating with complete professionalism,The Nurse that gives us our medication (Michelle) not necessary to give last name is ALWAYS on her A game and will do everything in her power to help ANY of the patients,beside being a licensed nurse she takes the time to talk to you if your having ANY problems.So today I walked into the establishment and to my surprise I was asked by the receptionist to come to the counter and she asked me how I was doing I said fine all the while she's monitoring my eyes I'm assuming that she was checking to see if I was under the influence of DRUGS or ALCOHOL that's fine however if I wanted someone to check and see if I'm under the INFLUENCE of DRUGS or ALCOHOL I firmly believe that it should be performed by a Trained POLICE OFFICER,A CERTIFIED NURSE That being. I've been to every other clinic in the area (including Aegis in Simi), and this is easily the best option if you're serious about recovery. The facility is easy to find and well maintained but the real difference is the staff. Each member of there team is professional, knowledgeable, and above all, caring. These people are here to help you and are legitimately concerned with your well being and Future, especially the facility RN Michelle. She is the cornerstone of this program and the source of the compassion that encourages us all to be better people. She takes the time to connect and communicate with each patient every day and actually listens. Because of her, this is the only program that has reasonable dosing hours on the weekend. 7-11am unlike 5-9am like all other clinics. This is but one of many examples.
