I stayed at the facility for a month and am glad to say I don't think I'll be back. They gave me the best tools to stay sober in the most comfortable, supportive environment I could imagine. Harmony This place is remarkable in any and every respect I can conceive of. I have to say, right off the bat, because it is so extraordinary, that the food there is as good as any you'll have anywhere. Their chef is not only incredibly skilled, but the quality of the food itself, the quantity, The variety of food, each and every day-- breakfast lunch, and dinner, is absolutely wonderful. I understand that's probably not the first concern for someone looking for help, but it is the thing I most remember about the place, and it was very nice to look forward to those meals which automatically buffers the intensity of the anxieties or physical maladies or any other problem one might be experiencing. If the food there was no good, the entire experience would be blown. If you're in the throes of detoxification, it would be horrible to have bad food. As for the Care, I'm not sure what to say. Without exception, every single person I spoke or dealt with, or was helped by, or counseled by, was as good or better than any I've ever seen in "real life". I've had many Sessions with psychologists, counselors, psychiatrist, and none compared to the counselor I had at Harmony Place. In fact, that was probably the best part. My counselor. She was, in an overused word, awesome. I got something from every single meeting, I still have my journals, and I will keep them forever. The The days flew past much faster than I expected, I think in part because of the other patients I had around me were also just wonderful to live with and talk to. I'm sure that they get a "challenging" guest at Harmony Place sometimes, , but I didn't see that, not in any sense. In fact, I met a man there with whom I will have a good and fulfilling relationship for the rest of my life. If you need help, as I so did, reach out to Harmony Place. They'll take very good care of you. I was just beyond an extremely difficult divorce, I had just lost my son to suicide, so I got the "f&$k its" as it is sometimes called, so I was there detoxing at first off of methadone, alcohol, and benzodiazepines and a whole bunch of sugar all at once. I won't say it wasn't difficult, you can't go through that with some level of pain, but to be quite honest, the discomfort was relatively mild. They got me on the perfect cocktail of medications that kept my symptoms at bay, and it was much, much easier than I expected. I was dreading horribly the seven days of pure misery, and what I had was about four days of mild discomfort. I'm telling you, you don't even have to look around. read more

My son went to Harmony Place for his rehab. This is his second time in in patient rehab and he has attended some outpatient treatment centers as well. The program and staff at Harmony Place really stand out. They seem to care about their patients as individuals. They help them come up with an individualized plan and they advocate for what's best for them. Our son is now in an affiliated sober living and going to PHP. I had a wonderful experience at Harmony unlike 2 other rehabs I attended before Harmony. I loved it so much I didn't want to leave. The food is impeccable and they have a huge team to support all of your needs. The owner (Jeff) is very personable and will attend in house meetings and he even cries with you. He is very empathetic to the resident's needs. Michelle Ramos was also very helpful with the financial part. David also helped me after I left. When you leave Harmony, they keep in touch with you and provide excellent customer service. They email you and have meetings every week at the house. I can't say enough good things about this rehab. If you have a problem with drugs or alcohol, this is the place to go. They also provide aftercare support when you leave. Highly recommend!!! read more

I admitted to harmony place as a client on 12/15/2023 and am forever grateful for the experience and the care that I received while under their care. I walked in unsure of myself and unsure that treatment would work for an addict like myself. I was facing some serious felony charges and had lost just about everything at that point. The clinical program and my primary therapist- Haleh- was instrumental to my process in healing and recovering from a seemingly hopeless state of mind. The staff believed in me when I didn't believe in myself and provided me with a safe place to go inward and do the work on myself that was necessary. I just celebrated 2 years sober on December 16, 2025. In the two years I've remained sober I have changed and grown into someone I am proud of, I got my license back, I got a car, I have employment and after many court dates my felony charges were dropped in October of last year. Most importantly I have found myself again, through working a program of my choosing, learning from my mistakes and trying to be the best person I can be- sober- each and everyday. I'm not sure that this would be my story if I had ended up going to any other program. Thank you harmony place for making me feel safe when that felt like such a foreign feeling for me. this place does not have a medical detox they say they do but there's no Doctor No nurse they can't touch you so if you're in serious withdrawals and you need to be helped, they will not help you. I was just there and I had to go somewhere else to get the kind of care that I needed to come off fentanyl please don't go there if you are a serious addict if you're a fake addict like you're just taking pills or something like that you might be OK but if you need a medical detox, please don't go there. Look at all the reviews they're 10 years old. And to boot they kept my medication so now I can't even get my Suboxone because of them scam. It's a shame. I am amazed on how great this facility is. I have been to many rehabs and this beats all of them. The CEO is so amazing. Truly one of the kindest souls I'll ever meet. I truly am grateful for EVERYONE there at H.P. What amazed me was how dedicated he is to the clients and his staff. They will do anything and everything for you, as long as you do the work. They always make you feel safe and if you don't, they will quickly do so. Honestly, I don't think there is any other rehab like this. I was supposed to only stay for a couple weeks and it ended up doing the full 30 days and honestly I wish I could of stayed longer. The therapist that I had (Haleh) was amazing. She helped me through a lot. She was constantly was checking up on me. Which meant the world to me. While I was there I had 3 very close people pass away within a 2 week period. Both of my grandmothers and 1 friend who OD'd. If it weren't for me being there and the support they and the fellow piers gave me, I'd still be loaded today and on the streets. SO, if you or your loved one is looking for a comfortable, encouraging, caring, loving rehab center. This is it! I will for always be grateful for this facility and their IOP is amazing as well! It's rather comfortable. The food is above average but not necessarily healthy, but the chefs , Mangi and Rudolph, will make accommodations for you if you ask in advance. The nursing staff is friendly, but the facility doesn't employ any RNs, they're all Vocational Nurses, which means their knowledge of medicine is limited. They are responsible for checking your vitals and dispensing meds. There's a doctor on call that they text with any questions or requests. The doctors are pretty prompt with answering. The groups get repetitive and rather stale after the first week as the turn around is high and new clients are being admitted all the time. It's a small facility with a maximum of 14 clients at one time. At one point there was only 4 of us. There are outings on Thursdays and Sundays. Thursday outings are almost always to Topanga Beach(not The cleanest or the prettiest beach in SoCal) Sunday outings are more diverse and are open to suggestions (movies, go-carts, mini golf, etc.) visiting hours are extremely limited to 3 hrs (1-4 on Saturdays and 2-5 on Sundays).You cannot leave the grounds which are rather small, so you can't go on a walk or stroll. The therapists are quite polite and sympathetic. The clients are for the most part younger and in their 20's.(don't expect highly educated professionals, or anyone interested in literature, politics, history, or general knowledge). There's a little air conditioned shack with a treadmill and an elliptical and you can go to the gym twice a week (very early on Mondays-too early and not recommended by most physicians, and Saturdays during visiting hours, so I really didn't get much in terms of physical activity. There's a heated pool. Room mates are generally messy due to their youth. There's always leftover food in the fridge in case you get hungry between meals(dinner is at 5p.m. and breakfast is served at 7:00 a.m.-quite a stretch. Make sure that your primary physician is constantly informed regarding any new medications, changes of dosage, and weekly blood work. All in all you'll get your money's worth. It's $40K/month and my out of pocket was minimal. I stayed an extra week which my insurance covered with no copay. The 12 step model is not mandatory and you don't have to attend AA or NA if you don't want to. Good luck with your sobriety. read more

I have been struggling with alcoholism since my early twenties and have been through a multitude of treatment programs, outpatient programs, and medical detoxes. I have historically been a chronic relapser and truly believed that there was little hope in my case for long-term sobriety. I arrived at Harmony Place in 2008 fully expecting to go through "just another treatment program," and was skeptical and discouraged. Why would this place be any different from the others? Harmony Place IS different and has given me the foundation for living a (sober) life that I, for the longest time, believed was far beyond my reach. There is something extraordinary about the treatment team and the program/environment that they have created. Every single staff member is personally invested in the recovery of each woman who walks through the door. Their personal and professional expereince with addiction is extensive, and their dedication to helping each client successfully through her recovery at Harmony and beyond is, in my experience, unparalleled. Each person there will be your staunchest advocate, yet will push you to both challenge and be brutally honest with yourself about your situation, whatever it may be. Before completing the program at Harmony Place, I was convinced that I would die an alcoholic; alone, demoralized, and pitied. I felt hopeless and broken. I am now a proud mother of a beautiful two-year-old son, and am graduating (with honors!) from CSUN in May with a degree in social work. Harmony Place saved my life. I was hopeless and desperate for help. The small setting was particularly attentive to my needs. The staff was always helpful and gave me the push I needed when I didnt think I was capable of getting sober. I struggled for years with addiction. Being 20 years old when I entered Harmony Place, I had many reservations about whether I could succeed. The staff had faith in me, when I didnt have much faith in myself. Not only did they help me while I was a resident, but they directed me to a treatment center in San Diego for my aftercare. The staff really cared about me, and they helped me immensely. All they give you to drink is kool-aid. They have a chef who cooks meals 3 times a day and the food's pretty good, but if you want to snack on something, you're lucky yo get an apple. The owner is very cheap when it comes to keeping the clients hydrated and fed. read more

My daughter was in several treatment centers and when she relapsed this last time we were desperate and frightened for her. My husband and I decided to try again and but this time we were looking for a center with a different approach than the centers she had already been in. As I started my journey I called and spoke to many treatment centers all across the US. When I called Harmony Place I was connected to Don Grant. After speaking with Don I knew immediately that this was the right place for my child. Don was compassionate, understanding and in my opinion very truthful. When he said he would call me back he ALWAYS did. He spoke to us several times and never once pushed his center on us. He did tell us the price and did tell us about sponsorship but quite frankly he was in the same financial ballpark as several of the other centers. He was there for us literally 24/7. Harmony Place is specifically designed for women and tailored to providing a safe environment. The staff are knowledgeable and in recovery themselves. The staff knew each client and were on top of each client's progress. Harmony Place has a small clientele and each client are able to receive all the help they were entitled to. Angela and Lori were fabulous therapists and very intuitive. Nothing got "over" them or "past" them. I would recomment Harmony Place to anyone who is looking for a small setting designed specificaly for women. My daughter is currently going into sober living and her councellors did a wonderful job in finding a right fit for her - affordable, safe and a good environment for her. I do believe my daughter is coming out a different person, and different in the sense that she "truly gets it". As Don said "there is no treatment center out there that is designed like Harmony Place- it's a special place"! I know Don will be available to our daughter if ever she needs him. I am writing because I was a client at Harmony Place over the summer. In my initial conversations with Don he felt confident that Harmony Place was equipped to help me, even though I let him know that going there would take all of my life savings. He always offers a scholarship when you say its too expensive... which makes it still too expensive ... but a little less so. Anyway make sure you say its too much when he quotes you 40,000 for the month.. you'll get the half price scholarship.. but only after he negotiates on your behalf with the owner... yeah right.....who BTW is a very nice man. Too bad he has such ill equipped employees to run his place... who pass it off as something it is not. So I was desperate and I believe this is exactly the type of person Harmony Place and especially Don Preys on. I spent my life savings there in hopes of beating this depression and body image disorder. . My time there was not pleasant especially as I felt Angela, (the least therapist), Laurie, (not sure what she does, but definitely seems to have an eating disorder of her own) and Don ( the salesman) to be cold distant uncaring and judgmental about towards me. Further I felt verbally abused by Don as he becomes very agitated if there is any disagreement or conflict, stops listening and begins shouting and ranting.The second day there I requested a refund... sensing in my gut that this place was not able to help me. But I stuck it out, as I was told there was no refund., I want to give you an update that not only is my depression and body image problem still present, it is far worse than before I attended Harmony Place. I am now left without any resources to seek counseling or other help. I am suicidal and fear that I am not going to make it as I have no access to care given that I spent all my money at Harmony House. Stay away from this place if you want meaningful result oriented psychological care... on the other hand if you have money to burn and want to dry out from alcohol or drugs and have a nice house and pool to hang around in while doing it, like to smoke cigarettes, (because you can't sit outside on the patio unless you like to breath smoke as there is no "Non smoking" area), eat mediocre food and have someone drive you to AA meetings every night then this is the place for you. read more
