Attended a gorgeous wedding here! The space was amazing and plenty of room for all of the guests (80ish) to move around during cocktail hour. I did not drink, but all of my friends said the drinks were great and we love that they had local wine and seltzers available. There was a nice porta potty truck- clean and stocked with personal care items. I appreciate how the ceremony could easily be moved inside the white tent if needed! read more

Very limited hours. Only open on weekends so I wasn't able to do tasting or buy wine. I wish they would add some hours maybe on Thursday or Friday. I visit the Altamont often from California and usually have weekends already planned so I haven't been able to visit the winery. read more

Checked out the altamont vineyard &winery for a candle making event hosted by Bella Blends. We created all natural non toxic essential oil candles. Amy who was our host was very warm,kind and very knowledgeable about her products. They also have non toxic bug spray, lotions and more. While we were waiting for candles to set We ordered the burrata with roasted tomato's and arugula. It was very tasty would get it again. The spiced apple mule cocktail was also very tasty. The winery is very cute and a lot of handmade items. All in all it was a great event. Had a blast with the girls. read more

We visited the winery today and were completely disappointing. We arrived and placed a drink order, we asked for a "tall" and were told the glasses are pretty big. She gave us the specials, one being a bruschetta app which we ordered and a pepperoni wood fire pizza. The waitress seemed completely annoyed with us even being there. She was very short and a lot of huffing. We asked if she could stagger the bruschetta and pizza so the app came out first and the pizza came out later. She brought us our "tall" drinks which were not tall at all, maybe 6 oz. Then brought us out the pizza first, which tasted like frozen pizza that was thrown in the wood fire for a few minutes. It was not good at all. And then out comes the bruschetta, which has zucchini and squash on it. We did send that back as we were not told it would have zucchini and squash on it, we were just told the special was bruschetta, which is tomato. The Waitress who brought us our food (a different waitress than who took our order) was very pleasant, however the one who took our order was nothing short of rude. We had visited this establishment once before and it was wonderful, however after today's visit, between the rude waitress and the awful food and the "tall" drinks, we will not be returning or recommending. read more

This is a perfect afternoon stop if you are in the area on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Great to bring a date as an afternoon weekend activity. We enjoyed our experience at this family owned Italian style winery. The grounds are beautiful and the staff we encountered are friendly. The food menu is limited but you must try the pizza. There is a wood burning brick oven that they use for their delicious pizza. Both the wines & the pizza reminded me of Tuscany. Simply amazing. read more

Beautiful place to relax out side and sip one of their delicious wines or local beer. Music and events ( music) on many weekends lends to a great atmosphere. Wine tasting a bit pricey ( compared to the finger lakes) but still enjoyable. Complete with gift store , outdoor pizza oven, outdoor bar and a grape vine covered gazebo makes this place worth the trip for wine lovers! read more

I recently was in a wedding at the winery. We were told we would be given the space to get ready in the store front before the wedding and it would be closed to the public. When we arrived at the scheduled time there were guests still tasting. We were told they would be asked to leave but the staff did not direct anyone to leave and then even let in more guests to taste after a conversation of our disappointment and confusion. . It was unbelievable that they did not turn away or direct visitors from entering, which lead to our bride being very upset on her big day. This continued for hours and even up to 30 minutes before the ceremony we had to act as bouncers asking visitors to please not enter, staff continued to serve them and let them in. The wedding coordinator saw the bride crying and did nothing. If a getting ready space was not something that could be accommodated it would have been nice for them to say that so alternative plans could be made, but again we were told that space would be private. I always have a pleasant time at Altamont Winery whenever I visit. I enjoy those summer afternoons spent sipping wine in their garden and gazing at the beauty of the outdoors. I've tasted a few of their wines but Elefanté Dolce (red) remains my one of my favorites. I love its rich aroma. It is also sweeter than most red wines. I love its quality and affordability at the same time. You can't really beat the price at less than $20 a bottle. If you're a fan of red, I would recommend giving it a try. Though I like coming here in the summertime, I also enjoy being here during early fall, when the vineyard is filled with grapes. I would say that this season is one of the most popular as more people seem to come here around this time. If you're looking for a local place to get your wine, I would recommend coming here. server was a bit too young to give knowledgable answers however the atmosphere is spa like. Jazz music playing. Local fruit cheeses and chocolates a plus! No water provided to rinse glasses in between tasting. You can taste at the counter or at a barrel table, but you risk being forgotten. Wines are not anything to write home about, but God knows I've had much worse! The Pinot noir (which I normally don't care for) is decent paired w dark choc. The Leon Millot was new to me and actually a full bodied complex wine and the grapes are grown on site. Got to meet the owner Michael as we were leaving. Very personable and knowledgeable. The views and the music were wonderful, everything else was not good. Parking lot was full at 1 pm and there were no provisions for overflow parking. Getting out after the event was dangerous: entrance/exit was blocked by other cars. We ordered 3 "meat lovers" flatbreads. I paid $14, one friend paid $12 and another paid the advertised $10. Flatbreads were not delivered so after an hour, we asked. We were brought 1 meat and 1 vegetable. We turned the vegetable away, as we knew it must belong to someone else. The other 2 came later. Some were burned, some were raw and they all had some cold sliced mozzarella and prosciutto. Very disappointed. I tried 2 wines. One was sour and one was musty. It's New York, not Napa, but drinkable would be nice. Also the 2nd glass of wine took awhile to get because the wine pourer didn't have a corkscrew. It's a winery! Come on. On a final note, there was no hot water in the bathroom to wash my hands with. It's a pandemic. Not cool. Everything was pretty bad for our entire party of 6. Soups were ordered several times before being delivered. One was full, one was half full. Exceeds expectations! If you feel like the north fork or finger lakes are too far for a quick wine tasting, come to altamont vineyard & winery! Seriously! The outdoor seating under the vines are so cute, updated, and modern! The ambiance was on point (especially if you're trying to get a picture for the gram!) they also have two big tents that will protect you from the intense sunny days/rain depending on what type of day you go. The wines are legit and really delicious! Try the wine tasting option and then pick a glass or bottle to end the day--you can seriously spend all day there! I wasn't very impressed with this winery. We used a livingsocial voucher. We were the first reservation that day. The voucher included a fruit, cheese, and chocolate plate. Ours sucked compared to the other plates I saw, and those parties had livingsocial vouchers also. Everything was tiny on ours; the cheese, the strawberries. There were some brown spots on the strawberries also. That plate is originally $12. I'm assuming they scaled it down for livingsocial customers, because there is no way in hell that is worth $12. I didn't like any of the wines either. Two of them were very musty. I was looking forward to buying a bottle of Riesling but they didn't have any. We left empty handed and I don't see us coming back. P.S. They have a nice outdoor area that wasn't being utilized at all on a beautiful day. It would've been nice to have the tastings outside. read more

This winery is on its second owner since we've lived in the area. It's was closed for awhile before the current owner reopened and renovated. There is now a nice tasting room. They have a fairly wide selection of wines for their size. Their Riesling is very nice! The other wines seem typical small winery fare. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Some sweet varieties that really aren't our thing. They do use some locally grown grapes. I hope they do well but it's a bit of an obscure location. I appreciate having them in the area! read more

Would have loved to do a wine tasting here but after spending a half hour driving to this winery. And parking on a grass/dirt/stone designated area. A man came out yelling at us (in a not very nice manner) as wehad just started walking to the building. Saying "Can't you move your car in closer to the next one to make more room!!!?" Mind you there are maybe 5 cars parked in total in this area. I said to him - "Are you expecting a group?" There was plenty of space for multiple more cars!!!! There are no lines of any sort like a typical parking lot. We were so thrown off by this. My husband said to the man "I have a sports car, it's rear wheel drive, I can't park on the grass I'll get stuck" (As he had strategically parked with his back wheels on the gravel area which is kind of sporatic.) There was only maybe 3-4 feet in between the next car and his. It would not have made a difference in our opinion. We ended up leaving and not getting inside. Its nice to have such a quaint place right in your own backyard. It is one of those places that you may not think about going to - but once you go, you would recommend it to your friends, just to check it out. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of wines they had - considering that they are just a small upstate ny winery that is not the finger lakes. We give these guys their props for their handwork and dedication to their work. Take a ride on a sunday afternoon and have some wine - you won't be disappointed. read more
