I was looking for somewhere different to eat before going to Proctors. The space was huge, almost cavernous. It was really quiet when we got there, only a couple of people at the bar. I had a Fighting Irwin and it was pretty good. The downside was that the bartender was more into the conversation with the regulars than checking on other people. I probably would have stayed for a second beer but when I finally got their attention it was time to go. I'd probably go back again for a beer and a pizza. read more

Attended Trampled by Turtles 7/25/26 The good: TBT was AMAZING-incredibly tight and inspired performance! Sound was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better performance. Thanks to Frog Alley for booking TBT and so many other talented artists that draw us music and beer-loving fans to your brewery. The bad: VIP experience was not impressive. At the ticket entrance no one knew what or where VIP patrons were supposed to do or go. "Sorry, it's my first day" was the response from at least three people. It was up to us to figure it out. Turns out that Frog Alley VIP is access to a balcony through a labyrinth of interior bars, stairs, other stages, and zero signage for guidance. The VIP balcony does have its own bar. However the price for our drinks changed in real time in front of us while our bartenders argued with each other about it. The other half of the VIP experience is a tent on the main concert lot with its own bar. The dissimilar experience here was that they require "drink tickets" for payment. The drink tickets are an awkward experience in general- you have to stand in line to buy a ticket then stand in line to exchange your ticket for a drink. Ridiculous and unnecessary. Most other concert venues do not do this, and is just a confusing hassle for the patrons who are looking for a cold drink and a nice time. So the balcony VIP bar allows you to purchase your drinks directly, but the concert lot VIP tent requires you to go elsewhere to buy a drink ticket. Why? The concert lot VIP tent has its own bathrooms but here is the worst part: no water to wash hands! Not even hand sanitizer. Inexcusable. My female guest told me that there was no water to wash hands in the main indoor ladies room as well. Why? Why are all the trash cans overflowing? So simple to have one employee just empty the trash during to show. A little more effort would elevate everyone's experience. The purpose of a Yelp review is for everyone to share their honest experiences. My experience was this: save your VIP money because this was the complete and honest VIP experience. Frog Alley is a decent venue and a great asset to Schenectady. I really expected more. read more

Checked out this pretty happening, or hoppening Schenectady brewery. Frog Alley is a great place for watching a game or just to be hanging. It has plenty of room inside for parties or whatever. Also it shares the building with a place to get pizza and Italian food. The service can be slow but it's not terrible. As for the brewery it's all about the beer. It shares the building with Annabel's, which has a window to make an order. They're actually a separate business though. Order beers at the bar. There's quite a few on tap. It's about $7 for the cheapest. The best of these is the Cherry Hweat. Kind of fruity. This has a bit of a sweetness to go along with the wheat. Also the Oktoberfest is good. The pizzas are ordered separate. Has more of an Applebee's type of atmosphere than like a brewery. It's full of children and families. This may make a few people think about it coming, but just focus on the great beers and whatever. read more

A huge brewery with a pizza vendor inside and large variety of beers! I've visited Frog Alley several times and I'm always impressed with how many different styles of beers they offer - there's truly something for everyone. I'm a huge fan of their Watermelon Sour, Mango Slushy Sour, Harvest Ale and Cherry Hweat (that's how they spell it - I swear!) The staff is also always welcoming and helpful, and let you try something before you commit. When I recently visited, they had several new seasonal winter beers. Annabel's Pizza is located inside the brewery, and they have delicious food. There's also tons of seating, both inside and outside, and they have lots of events going on - everything from live music to line dancing to a holiday vendor fair. Highly recommend!! read more

The top three things to like about Frog Alley, IMHO: 1. The Annabel's order and pick-up window, allowing you to enjoy scrumptious pizza, sandwiches, and snacks while getting your drink on. (I could go on and on about how much we love Annabel's!) 2. This spot is open on Mondays, and if you KNOW that's hard to come by in these parts. 3. Location is mega spacious, both inside and outdoors, making it a great spot for a group gathering together for the evening. (Frog Alley is a good spot to head for place for a planning beer, IMHO.) Lots of giant tables to fit large groups and little pockets of space for smaller parties, too. They do have a wide variety of events, some free, some with cover charges at the door, others with tickets needing to be purchased in advance. Be sure to check out their events calendar for details. The beer at Frog is...fine. It's not the best local brewery nearby, but that doesn't mean I won't find something to drink from the board. Just popped in to this enormous brew pub in downtown Schenectady. Huge variety of fresh draft offerings, created on site. Coupled with Annabel's. which is located within the brewpub, they can you provide tasty food as well. We were wondering why was an extremely large space -which also has lots of seating outdoors- and discovered that they have live music here on occasion. True enough, there is a stage and plenty of space for dancing. We ordered our beers from the bar - Skull Frog, which at 8% ABV, went delightfully straight to my head- and Lakeside Summer Kolsch, which was wonderfully citrusy with the fresh squeezed lime and agave. We got a chopped antipasto salad which was a generous portion. However, it was not well dressed and the non lettuce ingredients were not well mixed and were all found at the bottom of the salad. The pastrami Rueben burger with sweet potato fries was delicious! Pricing is moderate. Service is cheerful and the space is spacious and comfortable. read more

I came out, ordered a German Pilsner, the beer was flat and had no head. It was disappointing because this is a brewing company. The service wasn't that good. I asked to pull up a chair to the bar and was told that I couldn't. I was just one person so when I was told that they needed half their bar for space it was a weird answer to receive. I came on a night where there was a 25$ cover fee to come in. I don't come very often and found that the money to get in on top of the money I spent on a flat beer was just as bad as the experience I had leaving. As I left, I did receive a refund along with a disgusting look from a young blond employee. I think the beer should be top notch and more importantly poured as such when a customer spends his or her money on a product. I also think that the employees could smile a bit more and at least act like they want to be there. I came because of the wonderful pictures and videos I've seen on Instagram. We went here on a Saturday night to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Great selection of beers and with Annibel's attached they serve great food as well. The have indoor and outdoor seating. The servers were very attentive and pleasant. My real only negative was the seating. Mainly all high top seating which can be very uncomfortable for the senior population. They have 1 couch like seat outdoors which we took advantage of. The food was excellent and offer a GF crust for their pizza options. Great place to relax on a beautiful evening. Between the brews and the food and the TVs and the entertainment, this place is almost overwhelming... almost. It does get loud. There's plenty of space for your group of any size, except maybe if there's a special event going on. They have a nice brew list, and pizza and such is available across the floor from Annabel's (reviewed separately). The bar is very well staffed, so there's rarely a long line to get a drink (pace yourself, the food takes a bit longer). It does get a lot of traffic as people are going through for special events. But it seems to be a fun place to be before, during, after, or instead of the entertainment. read more

This review is comprehensive for a night that I was here for LINE DANCING. Every Tuesday there's a class for $10/person, with 2 dances taught but other songs/dances played that people knew already. It was enjoyable and not intimidating. I was happy to see about 35% of the dancers were men! There was enough room for the dancers and the folks there mainly to drink or eat. The space seems well designed and functions well. We shared a flight of beers, and not being much of a beer drinker, I went with water after tasting these. So- I can't review these fairly. The food is provided by a mini- food court called Annabel's. They have pizzas & other fried foods. I had the fried eggplant and fried artichokes. They were both a bit on the bland side but came with hot honey and horseradish cream sauce. Parking was not a problem tonight- on the side street. But don't walk alone if you can avoid it- that's the downtown vibe. The whole package gets a 4 for being an unique venue and a great addition to the Capitol District. My food, a 3. So. This is a huge venue. Not a quaint intimate brewery experience. There is another brewery inside called Craftpoint with a limited selection. There's also a pizza place with brick oven pizza called Annabelle's. There are so many children here on a Thursday evening. Including a newborn being bottle fed. We stopped in here on way to the Van Gogh Experience at the Armory in Schenectady. This is a quite spacious, comfortable, brewery. They have a lot of outdoor patio seating as well a big inside. We each sampled some of their brews. I had the Pink Boots - a nice, hazy IPA and husband had the Cream Ale. We were very happy with our choices. Food is available at a window - through Annabel's Pizza Company - they have large selection of apps, frites, pizza, salads, and sandwiches. We each got a nice BLT on ciabatta bread that came with homemade chips. Looking forward to going back and getting the pizza! read more

Went to frog Alley brewing after a walk on the bike trail along the Mohawk. Had some very refreshing bruise. The bartender was very nice and accommodating and gave us at least four or five samples friendly the entire time. So many bodies. Pushing, sweating, excreting. If you like this, be my guest. It was not my cup of tea. Now, the ambience. The experience. I touched on this above. Def Leppard covers blasting into your ears, pulsating through your entire carcass. Sweat of other patrons squirting onto your feet, your hands, your face, your drink. It was like I was in a club. But I didn't come for a club and at least in a club it is dark enough so that you don't see the flying liquids. There were empty pizza boxes lounging around. Perhaps I wouldn't have minded if I had eaten the pizza. But I did not. So, Frog Alley has good beer. Go forth, buy their beer. But I did not enjoy the establishment itself. I was invited to see a band on parade day at Frog Alley in Schenectady. They had a 15.00 cover charge to get in, which I had no problem with, a cover for a band is ok. When I went inside, I was surprised at the size of the bar, and the lack of staffing they had behind the bar. As the night progressed, the wait became longer at the bar, I went to the bar twice for a beer ( a tasty pilsner), and twice did not get a beer. I waited for at least 20 minutes at the bar...not 4 deep, but at the bar both times. I did witness obe bartender handing out coffees, nice touch, but while doing that, ignoring paying customers. I also witnessed the manager/owner walk behind the bar, shake the hand of a customer next to me, pour himself a beer and walk out. He had an opportunity to help staff, but instead chose to get a beer and walk out. Bad look. I felt there was no sense of urgency to serve the patrons. Frog Alley had an opportunity to showcase their venue to a new group of customers, but blew it. I may or may not be your demographic, single, love music, and have disposable income. But I know this will not be a venue that I go to again. First time I have ever done a review on a venue, but I think the management team should know the opportunity lost. Good beer, great food, absolutely terrible service. Just moved to the area from out of town. We live .3 miles from Frog Alley and were excited to walk in and try it for the 1st time. We ordered from the attached restaurant - which was really great. I had a pilsner which was very solid and my wife opted for an amber. Having a fun time. Wanted to try another drink. 3 bartenders, 1 barhop and absolutely no interest in checking in on us. Bar had 4 other total patrons at 10:00pm and 2 tables out in the dining room so it wasn't even close to busy. This lot was more interested in wiping tables around the bar, watching the band, or talking with each other. Finally, my wife flagged down a bartender (on her phone behind the bar) and I was able to get a 2nd round. Then, even though they were all 5-15 feet away, they all disappeared again, we became invisible. This time for good. They have a sign that says any unclosed tabs will automatically be charged 20%. After waiting endlessly just to try and settle up, we finally just got up and left. They can have the 20% tip. They won't have my service again. Ridiculous. Overstaffed and still couldn't grab a beer for someone sitting right in front of them. read more

I don't usually write reviews right away - but damn, this place is awesome! Small issue I had with parking, was that there is none. I am not saying it is just street parking, it's that there is not much street to park on close by. I am relatively unfamiliar with the area so I circled about 3 times before I decided to park. My spot was certainly not far at all, but it was 4:45pm on a Friday and I just assume it gets much worst. I honestly thought for a second, just go home, but I am extremely glad I didn't. This alone wasn't worth taking off a whole star. This space is absolutely stunning. Brand new, sparkly, inviting, cool, awesome all around. If i was with friends I would have stayed all night. Although I was alone, i did stay quite a while. The inside is huge. the patio is huge. The brewing area - for a place only operating since 2018 - is huge. The bar area is absolutely awesome - it circles around the inside and outside. No problem finding a spot to sit. I moved around a lot to get an overall vibe and I loved it. Inside, outside, all amazing. They also have a lot of live music going on. This Friday night specifically they had 3 different bands back to back. I will agree it was probably too loud for the space, but I just chose to sit further away, which is easy since the place is huge. The bartenders were also really nice girls, smiles, helpful, the service was great. The building is basically still under construction, which is what is not helping the parking situation. It looked like maybe more bars and restaurants would be coming, but the bar waitress said they were going to be apartments, I am not sure how good that is seeing as how this is a loud place! The beer, is good. I had three. The Skull DIPA was good, and they had free popcorn for everyone, but I will say the DIPA and popcorn do not pair well. The pop brings out a heavy piney note in the DIPA that was a little unpleasant, but on its own, the DIPA was good. Then I went for the Mohop #5, which was good but sorta forgettable. I then opted for the Re4resh IPA, and that was my favorite. I ordered a 4 pack, of the re4resh, to go as well, as I always do at a brewery which sells cans (support local!). One thing that I will mention is that, this place is expensive. 3 beers ($22) and a 4 pack ($20), before tips. Mostly, I LOVED the atmosphere. It was amazing in all ways. They seem to still be piecing the place together so I know it will just get better. But, it did cross my mind, just selling some beers (no food yet), this is a HUGE, gorgeous place, how are they making up the money for the rent? It is that it is a more pricey beer, which all in all, I guess was worth it. Would I return? HELL YES. i loved this place. Awful, awful situation for parking. There is no signs, no one indicating where its ok to park. The streets are packed. Building is pretty but when you spend 30 min circling the place for a spot to park it really takes away from the experience. We ended up parking in a lot that we thought was ok, but ended up getting towed after only an hour and a half.. (I know that's not the brewery's fault) but just want others to be aware of the same issue... BEWARE of where you park. Our night ended up costing us! Lots of $$$!! Did not care for the Harvest Fest beer, or the seltzer's. No thanks. Pricing was extremely high, $10 a drink. Also - Port a potty's were nasty, and line was outrageous to even access them. Cool space when they opened but as they grow and get bigger they seem to try to be more than just a community brewery, sorry. I like the beer but can get cheaper drafts of the same beer blocks away. Walked away many nights due to a cover at the door for shows. Wish they had more of the start up community feel they had at the start of it all. One of the best around. It's people like that that keep you coming back for more. Man do I miss going to breweries. I was in the area, escaping from the city for the holidays. Although not the full out brewery experience, I still enjoyed myself during these times. No tours, only a select few taps are available due to the uncertainty of what will spew out of Cuomo's mouth. I tried their Watermelon Crawl, which was a sour. Never thought I would ever have tasted a sour watermelon, but it somehow tasted great. They also have a pizza shop built into the brewery for food (covered on their respective page). Staff members are super friendly and available whenever you need them. It's a great atmosphere and would love come back again, hopefully when this pandemic is all over to experience everything they have to offer. read more

People are dancing to the music back to back. Honestly I'm not over the covid protocol lifts so I walked quickly away from the crowds. It must be local bands playing who I've never heard of. It's a mix between rock n roll and screamo music. It was so loud, I could barely hear people talking. The brewery was spacious inside and outside. My group sat outside, which had tall tables and chairs, and shaded areas. It rained like 30min during the night. My large was was able to get into the outdoor shack to shade ourselves from the rain. Don't let that deter you from stopping by and trying some of their craftwork. Anybody who has tried to brew beer knows it's a difficult task to make something palatable. Now try doing that on a large scale....in a new facility! Talk about challenging! I first tried the Cherry wheat, super yummy. Then I went for the Hefeweizen,damn,they nailed it! This review is for customer service only, as we couldn't get in the door to taste the beer/food. The hours posted on google as well as on their phone message are not correct, as they state the brewery opens at noon on Thursdays. We paid for parking via the kiosk on Thursday, Feb. 24 at around 1pm, as planned on visiting from out of town with limited time. The door was locked and we called again to hear the hours on the taped message, we once again heard the12 pm opening. When we held on to talk to a live person, she said they open at 3 pm, with no further explanation. DUH??? My advice is not to pay for parking until you know this place is open for sure because obviously no one cares. Updating/Correcting their open days and hours would be a common courtesy to people who go out of their way to try to visit. Lots of more friendlier places around this area to give your $$$ to. read more

Beer is expensive for the quality. In addition they made an inappropriate and insensitive Facebook post regarding Coronavirus and ,toilet paper on 3/14/2020 at 10:40 am. I have tried asking them to apologize, but instead they appear to be 1. Ignoring my direct message to them and deleting any comment of mine asking them to apologize. Update: A message from their Director of Marketing and Events. Note she is threatening to block me because I will not back down from requesting an apology. Extremely unprofessional. I would also like to add that absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence I asked her to escalate me to her boss, and then she appeared to block me.
