After only 2 rounds of alterations, Barb had these dresses fitting like they were custom made for my body. I wish I could post the before and after pictures here. I read her negative review below because honestly I couldn't understand how someone could be dissatisfied with her work. I think people have to keep in mind that she's been doing this for decades- if she tells you something isn't going to work or won't look right, she's probably right. And the best part about her is she actually WILL tell you if something doesn't look right (unlike bridal shop sales people who will tell you you look good in any hideous dress). Then she'll show you how she's going to fix it. You just have to be open and trust her- like I said before she's been doing this for decades. Lastly, not only is she an amazing dressmaker, she's AFFORDABLE! I got several estimates for altering my 2 gowns that started at $400 each and quickly went up from there. She did BOTH for $400, essentially deconstructing both dresses and retrofitting them for my body. If I could have given her 10 stars, I would have. I highly recommend her.

I scheduled a 30-minute time slot and was happy with how attentive she was. She allowed me to try a few different lengths, both what the pants would look like while standing and sitting and was very patient. The two-week turnaround was well worth it. I imagine you can pay more to expedite, but I was not in a hurry. For just under $30 per pair, great value in my opinion. I just picked up the jeans and they came out fantastic! They were completed on time and when I tried them on, they fit better than I was expecting. I will absolutely be coming here for future needs.

There was practically no fraying. I was expecting either narrow ladder or narrow zigzag stitching to join the edges with the repair looking like a thin scar in the fabric. Instead I got what you see here. The fabric is crushed and the threads are a rat's nest. I doubt this 'repair' can be repaired. My seamstress mom is rolling in her grave.

I was told it would be about 10 days until they were ready. The gentleman I spoke with said he would text me when they were ready. After about 2 weeks I gave them a call and was told they had a part time person helping out who hadn't shown up for a few days, so they were a bit behind. However, he did tell me they would ensure my slacks were ready the next day by 1pm. Went and picked up the slacks and saw what wonderful work they did. Very clean hems and the pants were also pressed and hanged. The folks here do great work. The cost for the hems was $18.50/pair, which initially was a bit more than I expected, but after seeing the work, I realize is totally worth it. I will definitely be going back and giving them all my tailoring business.
