This is my first Yelp review! I chose Metro by reading the Yelp reviews so I will write one to help someone else! I needed to have a winter coat cleaned, specifically a white Moncler coat with a fox fur collar. (Don't send PETA after me! It's vintage and I bought it second hand!) When I dropped the coat off, it was in pristine condition! It just smelled like a "coat closet" and needed to freshen up for winter. It has leather panels on the sides so Metro sent it off to a leather cleaning company that they work with. 6 weeks later, I pick up my jacket, and pay $55. As I put the coat in my car, I notice a pen mark on the arm. I was pretty frustrated, but understanding. Accidents happen! The manager offered to take my coat back (for 6 more weeks!) to have the stain removed. Considering the fact that the last time I left it there for 6 weeks, it came back in worse condition that it was on its arrival, I was willing to live with the mark, or have it repaired later, somewhere else. I looked the coat over when I got home and there were pen marks all over the leather! I went back today and got a refund for the cleaning, but I'm still stuck with a damaged coat. This coat is an "investment piece", and not something I planned to have to repurchase. I'm very disappointed. I wouldn't even trust them to dry clean my gym clothes. read more

Metro does an excellent job for us. We do A LOT of dry cleaning and tend to be pretty picky about the quality. Tim, the manager, takes a hands on approach ensuring customers are satisfied. In addition, if you need alterations or something tailored the do an excellent job. Their seamstress is very detail oriented and the turn around is fast. We've had 2 suits, 7 or 8 pairs of slacks, and a coat altered and we were satisfied. read more

I just moved to the area and so far I am very happy with the service. The people are polite and deliver as scheduled, apart from items that require special care, and I appreciate that. Their communication so far is good and I will update this review as time goes on. I have a lot of dry-cleaning done, from New England to California- so my standards are pretty high. First (and last) time customer here. Needed to have a wool runner cleaned. Called first to get an estimate. Was told $27, which was a little less than another place, so went with Metro. First annoyance came when I went to drop it off - their hours are NOT what are on the website; they aren't what are posted on their door; they seem to be special hours implemented last November noted on a small paper in the window, which means they close earlier than expected. So had to do a second trip to drop off. When I dropped it off, I asked to have the price confirmed. The fellow at the desk said he'd have to have the manager call me. Took a couple days to hear from him, and the price was higher - $34. Also told me they send carpets out to be cleaned and they are only picked up by the actual cleaner once a week - on Mondays. Of course, I dropped it off on Tuesday! Finally was able to pick it up, only to have the price go up again - $42. The guy at the counter said how they send it out and it depends on how long it takes. Why the manager's quote didn't match I have no idea. I asked for the $10 "first time customer" discount advertised on the website. The guy tries to tell me it's 10%. I said no, $10. He said "you'll have to show me." So I pull it up on my phone - $10. Then he says "that's for first time customers". I said, yeah, that's what I am (biting my tongue to not add "and last time"). He said no, I found your name and address in the system, so you're not first time. I explained that info was in there BECAUSE OF THE ORDER I WAS PICKING UP! DUH. He conceded that "might be why". I got the $10 off and left. WILL NOT GO BACK. I'm going to guess the place they send the carpets is the other place I could have gone to in the first place for a lot less hassle and what turned out to be the same price after discount. read more

I have been using Metro for a few years now. Always great! My daughter showed me a cream colored bridesmaids dress from a year ago that was COVERED in stains from grass to food to wine. I sent it to Metro with little hope. I just received the dress back looking brand new! I am so amazed they were able to do that and for a VERY reasonable price! So I needed a zipper fixed for one of my formal skirts. I requested a quote through yelp.. and got a quote within minutes ( awesome for when your in a time crunch!). The message included the estimated cost and time. I received a text messages informing me my order was completed ( before expected day). Happy to say I would definitely go back there. Composite review: Been here over the years a dozen times. Simple in and out; service is fine; massive parking in the Cranberry Shopping Center. Other shopping within the complex and in the region. But I am partial to family owned and operated businesses. This seems part of a larger structure, but I am not sure. Apparently when I sent a jacket in for dry cleaning this week, I sent it along with a pocket full of cash. I cannot even believe the jacket came back clean with a small attached envelope that had the cash and other contents of my pocket. Class act! They pick up and deliver. Overall they were actually very nice & proffessional here. It has the appearance of a very nice drycleaner where you'll receive more upscale service. I made the mistake, however, of coming, not with drycleaning but an alteration. I brought in some jeans that needed hemming. They were way too long on me, but I loved them so I bought them with the intention of having them hemmed. I talked to the seamstress, who persuaded me not to take them up too much, cause we can always take them up more if they're still too long. I was apprehensive, as I knew they needed at least a couple inches, but agreed to her suggestion. A week later, I got them back having been hemmed like a dress pant with an invisible stitch. I didn't really understand why they would be hemmed this way when they are a jean & it should be pretty standard to just roll them up and topstitch. I asked that they just add a topstitch so it can look like a regular jean hem. It was supposed to take about a week. 4 weeks and several increasingly angry visits later (I was never called by them, as promised on several occasions), I got them back finally. I took them home to try them on & of course they could still use at least another inch taken off. At this point though, I was so frustrated throughout the process that I just don't even feel like it, although, it makes me mad to put them on & reminds me of my frustrations of dealing with Metro. I'm sure they do a great job with actual dry cleaning, but the way this situation was handled with my jeans is enough to make me keep searching for a drycleaner in the area I'll be satisfied with. Bottom line is it should never have take over a month to take a couple inches off of a pair of jeans. read more

Place is amazing. Does a great job, but also owned and/or operated by great people. I recently went in and picked up a comforter in an effort to leave work and gather myself after getting news that my grandmother had just passed away somewhat unexpectedly. While that clearly wasn't the best idea, the man working asked me if I wasn't feeling well, I awkwardly muttered that I just found out my grandmother passed away. Not only was he extremely kind and offered positive thoughts and insight, but they sincerely tried to give me the most expensive item I could have gotten dry cleaned for FREE. I didn't accept, but that was an extraordinary act of kindness you won't get many other places. On top of this, they said a down comforter would take a longer time than normal clothing due to drying (estimate given on phone was 5 days). I dropped it off and was expecting to pick it up the following week (4 business days later). However, an email the next day that it was done and ready for pickup. Very disappointed in service. They damaged a lambs wool Talbots's sweater and now the sleeves are so tight that it is unwearable. They didn't know whether it had been dry cleaned or washed according to the manufacturer's instructions. They said I would be reimbursed for the cost of the sweater, but months later after calls and a letter, I am still waiting. read more

Excellent dry cleaner and great customer service! Love that it's local and family owned. The pick up and drop off service from my house is what I typically use and it's always on time. Their alteration service is excellent as well! Several of my daughter's formal dresses have been altered here and the turn around time was fast and quality of work was great. They clean UGG's too. Dry cleaning is something that you don't ever want to worry about, but you have to deal with if you work in a professional atmosphere. Metro always does a fantastic job. My shirts are always done the way I like them. To top it off, the delivery service means I do not have to worry about drop off and pick up. read more

Metro Dry Cleaners have performed a great job on all items cleaned. All clothes have come back looking very professional. As other cleaners attach a cleaning ticket to each piece of clothing with a staple, safety pin, or small plastic that needs to be cut off, Metro does not perform this way of keeping track of each item. Absolutely nothing to remove before wearing. This is a great time savor! Receive an email when items are ready for pick-up. Prices are in line with other cleaners I had previously tried and also receive occasional coupons through email. Convenient location in Cranberry. read more
