I had a few pairs of slacks that needed hemmed. I brought them in and was promptly greeted. The tailors here are very friendly and helpful. I was told it would be about 10 days until they were ready. The gentleman I spoke with said he would text me when they were ready. After about 2 weeks I gave them a call and was told they had a part time person helping out who hadn't shown up for a few days, so they were a bit behind. However, he did tell me they would ensure my slacks were ready the next day by 1pm. Went and picked up the slacks and saw what wonderful work they did. Very clean hems and the pants were also pressed and hanged. The folks here do great work. The cost for the hems was $18.50/pair, which initially was a bit more than I expected, but after seeing the work, I realize is totally worth it. I will definitely be going back and giving them all my tailoring business. read more

I lost more weight the week before my wedding than I had planned which affected the way my wedding dress fit. It was suddenly a little too loose, and I spent more time fussing with it than was ideal. I went to Alberto & Pasquale for all of my initial wedding dress alterations, so I called asking if I should come in for an emergency re-fitting. They helped me book another appointment on short notice and after I came in, decided to take the waist in more and to add a hook to the back so it fit more snuggly around the bust and wouldn't fall down. After these changes, my wedding dress fit like a glove! I was incredibly comfortable in my dress on my wedding day and have Alberto & Pasquale to thank for it! My dress was not expensive, so I didn't mind paying extra for the peace of mind of getting it altered by an experienced tailor. Make sure you plan ahead and take the time to ask for everything you want during your first appointment, turn around time for my initial alterations was at minimum two weeks. They made an exception for the last-minute changes I needed for my wedding dress, though (see above). Turn around was two days, which was hugely appreciated! read more

I recently had two suit jackets altered at Alberto & Pasquale and had a fantastic experience. I wanted the shoulders softened and taken in a bit on each jacket. I also wanted them to slim jacket sleeves with surgeon cuffs. I had not used Alberto & Pasquale before this experience but have always heard that they are the best in the city. Even with the glowing recommendations, I was a little nervous as to how things would turn out. These are not the easiest alterations and I wondered if I should have tried them out with a basic request. However, the knowledge of the proprietor, John, gave me a ton of confidence in their abilities. He was extremely friendly and made some great recommendations so I decided to move forward. I picked up may garments yesterday and am absolutely thrilled with how they turned out. The level of craftsmanship is superb, John's recommendations were spot on, and the fit was exactly what I was looking for. I'll certainly use them exclusively moving forward. I also want to mention that Alberto & Pasquale does MTM garments and I am now in the process of having a sport coat and dress shirt made up. I've used other MTMs in the city, and have had good, but not great final results. So far, I've gone through the measuring process, fabric selection, and design at A&P and I must say that the experience at A&P is far more encompassing that my previous MTM experiences. The fabric selection isn't necessarily as large as others in the city, but the garment options and number of measurements are far superior to other offerings in the city. John really knows his stuff and has great design ideas. I'd encourage anyone that is looking for something with a little more flare than "off the rack" to work with John and have something made up. The price point is in line with other MTMs and I am anxiously awaiting my finished garments. I'll be sure to follow up on the final fit after the items come in. read more

This place is excellent. Great hours (8-6 M-F, 8-4 on Saturday and closed on Sunday), fitting room in the front area and fast service. I brought in a blazer that I needed some finishing touches added to it on Tuesday and it was ready on Thursday - no rush fee. And it was pressed for me and everything when I picked it up. Pretty inexpensive for the hand work that was done to my blazer - pick stitching and a boutonniere hole that needed to be added to the lapel. read more

In an age when tailoring is becoming a lost art, this is the place to go to have your clothes tailored rather than merely altered. Pasquale is an artist, offering bespoke suits, shirts and jackets, as well complete tailoring of off the rack items. His knowledge of constructing a suit from scratch allows him to alter a suit's chest, waist, jacket length, shoulders, lapel, etc. - services I have not found elsewhere. He has an artists eye and will tailor your clothes to fit your entire body, not just sleeve and pant length. Pasquale does the fitting and tailoring himself, so you are assured of quality throughout the process. The emphasis is on quality craftsmanship, so some patience helps, though Pasquale often helps those who have an emergency and need something done in short order. The atmosphere of the shop is casual and friendly. The prices are a bit more than some other shops, but considering the quality of the work and the hours of craftsmanship involved, they are really dirt cheap. If you have never had a suit (or other item) expertly tailored, I highly recommend bringing something to Pasquale. The difference to standard alterations is akin to that between a Ford and Ferrari. Pasquale has tailored all my suits, etc., even those I had previously had altered elsewhere. If I sound like I'm proselytizing, its because I'm a convert. read more

I am in between standard suit sizes, which makes finding an off-the-rack suit remarkably difficult. The jackets are either a bit too tight or far too boxy. I tried a number of suits in several price ranges ($400 to $1,500), but nothing seemed to fit quite right. I finally found a 42R online with a great fit in the chest. Unfortunately, when it arrived, the jacket came in too far near the stomach and midsection, and the shoulders were just a bit too wide. I thought there was no chance with this one- these are some very difficult (and often expensive) alterations to make. I was ready to give up and simply return the suit, but I thought I'd bring it into Alberto & Pasquale to get their thoughts. At the time, I was leaving for Washington D.C. in three days and I was in bad need of a suit. To my great surprise, they said the alterations wouldn't be a problem. I was even more surprised when they told me to give them a call on Friday (the day before I left) to see if the suit would be finished! 3 days to make several rather complex alterations is simply unheard of. On top of all of this, prices were extremely reasonable considering the work being done. I called on Friday, and the suit was finished and pressed. I now have a suit that fits me perfectly, and I couldn't be happier. If you need any alterations done (particularly on suits), I strongly recommend Alberto & Pasquale. Legendary skill on top of incredibly fast service and reasonable prices has made me into a lifelong customer. read more

Recently under new ownership (late 2014) but with the same top notch Pasquale led tailoring team, John has reinvigorated this Pittsburgh shop with a modern touch. After moving from New York City I was apprehensive about finding a tailor here in Pittsburgh but John quelled my fears. In fact, I went out of my way to drive from the Strip here to get work done. They also do custom clothes as well (although I haven't personally tried but I've been impressed by what I've seen.) Turnover time can sometimes take a little longer but it's worth it as they do top notch work. I'm moving back to Detroit soon so sad to leave but would not hesitate to recommend to any looking for a high quality tailor shop in Squirrel Hill or the Pittsburgh area. read more

I needed the dress in about a week, and they were absolutely able to squeeze my alterations in -- and they noticed a few places where the straps needed some extra reinforcement. They got it done on time, were super friendly, and super affordable at $25. read more

This place is awesome. I am skinny and buying suits is always difficult because the pants always look too big in the seat and don't taper enough in the leg. I brought my suit pants in and within 2 days there were absolutely perfect, just in time for interview day! He brought in the seat of the pants, shortened them a touch and tapered the leg to not look as baggy. I highly recommend them, and am really sad to be moving away! read more

I brought my wedding dress here and I was a little skeptical because their reviews don't say much about intricate dresses but they were absolutely wonderful. They were extremely patient and took my dress in yet again when my tonsils raged against the machine and had to be removed unexpectedly. A 13lb weight loss later and I had a dress that did not even come close to fitting. Within 4 days, they had my dress taken in again and ready to go. Wonderful people. Excellent work. read more

The work was pretty good, and the prices were a little expensive but not unreasonable. What made me mad was that they told me that my clothes would be done in one week. Exactly one week later I returned and he told me to come back some other day because my clothes weren't done. I had to come back two more times, and he didn't seem to care that my clothes still weren't done. Worst of all, he didn't even offer me a discount even though he was late with the clothes. My dtr came in from out of town and needed some minor dress alterations. She went here based on the yelp reviews. Took the dress in one week ago and was told it would be ready by Thursday. I called to verify it was ready wed afternoon and was put on hold while they tried to locate the dress, which they never could. I asked to be called back once they found it and was not. We were hoping to pick up by 9 AM. My husband called this morning and again no one could find the dress. He then stopped in the shop and again no one could locate the dress or my dtr's name. He asked to be called again as the owner was supposed to be in by 9 No call by 10 so again he called. Instead of an apology we were told they had never guaranteed it would be done. Again no apology for no call back as promised and acted as if it was our fault for being upset that the dress was not found . It was still not done until late afternoon. I've been going to Pasquale for tailoring pretty regularly for about 2 years or so now. I'm pretty particular about how my clothes fit, and he's perfectly willing to deal with that. I've taken everything from coats to suits to pants in, and everything ends up looking spectacular. The store owner, John, really knows clothes and is a great guy to deal with. Sure, it's going to be slightly more expensive than a generic department store, but the price buys you the best tailoring in Pittsburgh. I'd say that's worth it. read more

NOT DIVERSE FRIENDLY. I don't know if they are good taylors of not, they told me they couldn't do anything for me and that I needed to buy another dress. I am ok with their opinion. However, they also considered important to mention that they didn't care where I was from when they were giving me their opinion. My ethnicity had nothing to do with the services I wanted, I just wanted a normal/not ethnic at all/plainly american dress adjusted. I said thank you and left inmediately.
