$35 for hemming my Bridesmaids dress. I took the dress in & just about a week later it was ready. Pros: the hem was perfect! Great length & workmanship Cons: I called to confirm with Nancy her shop was open at a certain time, & the dress would absolutely be ready for pick-up by a certain time (I work out of town so I took off an hour from work to go pick up the dress & hurry to make it back to work). When I arrived at the shop at our confirmed time she hadn't even started on my dress (I saw the chalk marks still at the bottom still). Called mid panic-attack because I was about to receive a late order of a wedding dress. Dress arrived and no one would touch it. She gave me excellent advice to send it back due to complications. I found another dress last minute and she did all the alterations. Even when the bra cups in the top were making the dress horrible she took it in the LAST day before the wedding. Spoke with a lady for information only, she was very friendly and helpful. Dress hemming is $16 depending on the fabric/$25 if the garment is layered also depending on the fabric. It can take up to a week, if you need it sooner there is a $10 charge. Open Tuesday through Friday 10:00 am'ish to 5:00 pm'ish. I would totally go here. If you're rude, I'm sure they would give it right back. There aren't many good seamstresses around, and this one seems to have reasonable pricing. read more

I took two pairs of pants to get a simple hem and the lady stated it would be two weeks. Even though i was reluctant to wait that long, I left them. I took approximately two weeks and I paid $27, which I felt was over priced. Most likely not returning for a simple hem. read more

So far, i have had no issues with Nancy, she sometimes is hard to get in touch with, but she posts that on her door, that her hours are iffy. I am so sorry that so many people have had issues with her, but so far, no one has suggested anyone else in town to use. Seamstress and alteration people are hard to find. !!! Trust me, i've tried. Absolutely the most disgustingly rude person I have ever had the displeasure of giving my business to. The first time I brought a pair of palazzo pants to be hemmed I was told it would be a week because of "prom season"; I came in the day they were to be finished and they were not done-and I was leaving for Idaho the next day. Both of the ladies in there were disgustingly rude to me. However, I thought maybe it was because I had my septum pierced and maybe they were just being judgmental. Anyways, fast forward two years, I come in to get a garment altered, I'm dressed normal and I'm super kind. Still the same rude bitch that I dealt with the last time. I wish I had read the reviews before I dealt with this establishment. I took a suit in to be altered. I was very clear when I said we needed the suit back before Jul. 3. I was assured that it would be ready by June 30. My son has gone by everyday since, to pick it up. There has been a note on the door indicating that Nancy is out sick. No contact information or any indication as to when the store will reopen. I have left a voice mail and there has been no response. I am stressing out. My boy needs the suit for the National Youth Leadership of Medicine and now it looks like we will need to either purchase a new suit by tomorrow or rent one. My boy is very tall and thin. The likelihood of finding one that fits is very low. I'm so frustrated, and soooo dissapointed. read more

I had my bridesmaid dress altered here and they did a fabulous job. The length was just right and for having three layers, I was charged only $35. My only complaint would be that they take cash only, but they do let you pay for it when you come back to pick up your apparel, which is really convenient. Also, the ladies working there are sued friendly. Would definitely come back if I needed anything altered. read more

The worst costumer service I've come across. She didn't call me when my dress was ready (for my brothers wedding) and when I eventually talked to her and asked why, she told me I'm just suppose to come in to pick it up. I had called her multiple times on the day it was supposed to be ready and left messages requesting that she call me back. She never returned my call and by the time I got off of work and went by her store she was already gone. So when I go to pick it up on her next open business day (3 days later) she tells me she doesn't call customers when their clothes are ready. Then why did she even get my number? Not once did she tell me during drop off that she doesn't call and that I just need to pick it up on that day. My knowledge is that alteration places will give you a date that it should be ready around but will always call you when it's actually ready. I tried to fulfill my part and keep updated on my dress by calling and leaving messages. Her excuses for not answering any of my calls was that she was probably in the bathroom.. which still doesn't explain why she didn't call me back since I left multiple voice mails. And she was just overall rude even before picking up my dress. I'm a very polite person who doesn't like to make big deal out of things but she couldn't even apologize for not getting back to me.. and not to mention that I had to go find and purchase a new outfit on the morning of the wedding. The lady seemed very rude in general and offered all around bad service. I strongly advise anyone who is considering going to this "business" to take your clothing else where. I took in a pair of dress pants to be taken up a bit, and was told they would be done in two weeks. I didn't need the pants right away so I agreed to leave them, and was assured I would get a call when the pants were completed. Two weeks go by and I call the shop with no answer. I wait another week, and find out the owner was out ill with no expected return date. In total I waited five weeks and still paid full price for the pants, and when I wore them the first time after alterations, one leg was higher than the other by a quarter inch! Not only did I wait five weeks for something simple, and get charged full price, it wasn't done correctly. Of course I didn't bother going back to ask for a partial refund or even to have it "fixed" again. read more

I was very satisfied with her work and the 2-day turnaround time (which, of course, may vary, based on her workload and your specific alteration requests). DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS!!!! I am giving this business a 1 star rating because there isn't anything lower than that!! We were coming into the store to pick up an unfinished wedding dress after we were told on the phone to come pick it up because she was done dealing with us. We walked in to the store with both workers sitting at their work stations, looking at us as we walked through the door only to hear something to the effect of "morons". Of course, when this was met with an, "excuse me" from my wife, Nancy stated that she was talking about someone else.(Very timely comment). She then complained that my wife had done nothing but complain on the phone everyday this week. A lie! My wife called to see about getting a hem done early and then she called about a fix that she wanted done. None of our phone calls were returned this week. My wife called today again and we were told to come pick up the dress because she was done with us. During the conversation, in the store, I managed to squeeze in the comment that she has forgotten who she works for, the customer. I was immediately told to leave her establishment and get out. We went ahead and paid her 100.00 (which we shouldn't have) for the work she didn't finish,(only because I didn't want to play the ransom game with the dress we are pushing it time wise and we need to get it to another seamstress) and as she was walking to the back of the store, my wife turns to the other worker and calmly tells here that she just wants to clarify the situation, we hear a "Shut Up" and another "get out of my store." Then to boot, my wife gets told that the whole situation was her fault because she wouldn't get out of the fitting room(as the mother of the bride) when the alterations were being decided????? What???? Since when does the mother of the bride have to be kicked out of a alterations meeting. My wife is not abrasive in any way shape or form neither is my daughter. Next she told us when we arrived that she had put the dress back together again. It was supposedly in two pieces. So between the 10 minutes that she hung up with my wife and we arrived she slammed a wedding dress together???? Wow!!??? I BEG OF YOU DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS ESTABLISHMENT FOR ANYTHING!!! I like the service here and have used their service several times. These ladies are professional and service is on time. I wish they offered embroidery and custom work... You will need to go elsewhere for those services. I have also noticed that their hours of operation various and sometimes they do not adhere to the posted hours. Hours also change in the Winter. When we went to go in which was only 1 day after we called she said she didn't have time to do a simple alteration on the bottom of a dress. I do NOT recommend Nancy. She is not professional or pleasant to work with. I had her alter my wedding dress. She did not pay close attention to the measurements and when I came in to try it on, the bottom half of the dress was off-centered, the sleeves were tighter so I couldn't move my arms and the dress was too long because she didn't measure it carefully the first time. We ended up taking it to another place downtown where they caught her mistakes (more than listed) and are fixing it now. Again, she is not polite and does not interact nor do her work professionally. Unfortunately, Nancy is not very competent at alteration of men's dress clothes. She ruined a brand new suit by cutting the pants too short when hemming legs. You would expect a career seamstress to know how to do a basic task such as properly raising pant legs on a suit. She also hemmed the pant legs without a cuff/break, making it a throwback to 1911-style primitive pant legs. If I wanted my great grampa's suit, I wouldn't have bought a designer suit. I also didn't appreciate the fact that she repeatedly proceeded to loudly agree with Rush Limbaugh as she listed to his radio show during business hours. Politics and business don't mix so don't impose your twisted political views on customers, its unprofessional. Is she nice? She is friendly, but I am not shopping around to purchase that. My experience with Nancy's was horrific. To make a long story short, she claimed she needed the dress in plenty of time to get it done, when I called the morning my daughter was supposed to pick it up, it had not even been started. By that time, my daughter was involved in the wedding obligations of the day and could not go to try on the dress at Nancy's later to make sure everything was alright. When I voiced my concerns, I was told, "I'm sure it will be fine". Of course after picking up the dress later that afternoon, it did not fit my daughter properly. When I called to discuss and hopefully remedy the situation, she became very ugly because there was no time for my daughter to come in and redo the garment. THEN... the woman actually hung up on me. Not one, but 3 times before taking her phone off the hook. Being a business owner who deals with the public daily, I can NOT even fathom this kind of behavior. The calls were all shorter than 2 minutes long, so even if I was the witch of the world, (which I certainly was not), it doesn't seem to me that warrants enough time for a business to hang up on a customer repeatedly. Her behavior and the lack of detail to work and customer service was absolutely astonishing. If I could have rated less than one star, I certainly would have. read more

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!!! I have never encountered such a rude business owner who claims to have "22 years experience and stands behind her work" provide such horrible customer service and lack of ability to accept responsibility or LISTEN to a customer. I took my daughters prom dress in for alterations in the waist and the back. I was told she would be able to do the alteration with no problem and that the dress would be ready the following Friday (I took it in on a Tuesday) I called the following week on Wednesday to have an update and was told she had not even started on the dress and that it would be ready for pickup Friday by noon. Mind you this dress needed a lot of work done. My daughter picked up the dress and was told by Nancy she was too busy therefore she could not try on the dress. Once home my daughter tried on the dress and to our disbelief nothing was done to the back or the waist! Nancy's idea of taking in the waist was placing three mini hooks at the waist. The back was exactly as we had taken and it was obvious nothing was done. I called her Friday and left her a message stating the dress was not fixed and requested she call me back. Nancy never returned my call, I called her, and to my surprise as soon as I stated who I was and the problem with the dress she began to yell at me and tell me that I didn't know what I was talking about because she has done this job for 22 years and continually yelled at me for accusing her of not doing her job. When I attempted to respond she interrupted, yelled at me and to my shock hung up on me!! I called back she did not answer my call and while I left her a message to call me back she disconnected the phone! !!! This has been the worst experience ever with a business owner!! She is extremely rude, disrespectful, and ignorant to proper customer service! From reading other comments I am not the only customer who has experienced this from her. The only positive comments have been from people needing simple alterations to a garment. People requesting extensive work done have experienced the work not properly done.
