They are a very charming couple with a very international background. Theo was a Navy submarine office for the Netherlands and Bettina was born in Puebla, Mexico. They met learning salsa lesson in the community. The hotel is over 300 years old and Theo has made it into a very modern facility while retaining the old charm of the hotel. The restaurant features some traditional German cooking handed down from Theo's Mother, so you can feel you are part of a true German family. The village is a very nice place to visit and walk around. I had the opportunity to visit during the tulip season and got a visit a local farmers market Bettina suggested. I was able to purchase some locally made cheese by a dairy farm Hof Zum Walde (translation Forest Courtyard) at a very reasonable price. It was 1/4 the price of the same cheese at the Amsterdam airport and very fresh. They provided sample as well. The honey clover and Fenugreek makes me want to go back soon.

We were looking for a place to have lunch when we just spotted this quaint restaurant. We did not…read moreknow if it was open so my wife checked and said yes but is looked a little expensive. We were hungry and since we were headed back to Florida in a few days we decided to try it. It was the best meal that we have had in Germany. My wife had salmon and I had the osso buco. They served a small appetizer that was out of this world. I am not sure what the vegetables were but they were outstanding. Great wine and beer and the service was outstanding. This is a restaurant I would go for fine dining. Definitely 5 stars plus.
