They are a very charming couple with a very international background. Theo was a Navy submarine office for the Netherlands and Bettina was born in Puebla, Mexico. They met learning salsa lesson in the community.
The hotel is over 300 years old and Theo has made it into a very modern facility while retaining the old charm of the hotel. The restaurant features some traditional German cooking handed down from Theo's Mother, so you can feel you are part of a true German family.
The village is a very nice place to visit and walk around. I had the opportunity to visit during the tulip season and got a visit a local farmers market Bettina suggested. I was able to purchase some locally made cheese by a dairy farm Hof Zum Walde (translation Forest Courtyard) at a very reasonable price. It was 1/4 the price of the same cheese at the Amsterdam airport and very fresh. They provided sample as well. The honey clover and Fenugreek makes me want to go back soon.
