Used to be great but they offer less service for a higher price. I don't know why I keep trying them. Never get the hair cut I ask for. Constantly too short. Their tips amounts are ridiculous. They flipped a phone around asking for tips 21% 25% and 50%. Way too much money for crappy barbers. They cut your hair the way they want and won't listen. It's a nice place and used to be okay. To bad. They don't know how to measure either. Absolutely ruined the haircut and now will have to start growing hair out again. Need to learn basics of cutting hair. Not just fades which honestly they do pretty good, I will say that much. Came in twice for a walk in - the first time they took my son the second time they gave me a card and told me to make an appointment online. We moved here from New York City. Where you just walk in , sit down, get your shape up , throw the barber a $20 and be on your way. I don't feel that I have to spend $80 booking an appointment for some spa treatment for my teenager who doesn't need it. It would be nice to find a real barber in Colorado. Having just moved to the Denver area at the start of December, I assumed finding a new barber would be difficult. I'm picky, and stuck with my last barber for a few years back in Sacramento. Luckily, I found Altitude on Yelp. Once I walked in, I could already tell it was the spot for me. The vibes were on point with good music in the background and friendly barbers who seemed passionate about what they do. I will also note that all COVID precautions were taken, and I felt very comfortable. I booked my appointment with Chris, aka "Murph." It had been over 5 months since a real cut, and my hair had turned into some moppy/greaser look. He absolutely killed it, and I couldn't be happier with the job Murph did! He paid extra attention to detail and precision, all while striking up a great conversation that lasted the whole time. Brought my son here for a haircut (Trey) and was so disappointed. After I saw what he did I didn't even want to say anything because I didn't want it to look even worse. I immediately called around to get an appointment for someone else to fix it. I thought bringing him to a barber would ensure a good experience but sadly not. $30 later and I still have to pay someone else to fix it. Great spot! It's a bunch of young guys who give GREAT cuts. If you want to tell them exactly what you want, they'll do it. Or you can go my route and give them a vague idea and then say "make me look good." And they'll do that too. One of my sons and I see Don, and my other son sees Mike. They both do a great job, especially considering they mandate masks on at all times. They give you a good cut without taking the mask of at all. Highly recommended. Raymond is amazing at cutting biracial and "African-American" hair. My husband is Haitian and only trusts Raymond with his hair. He went to other barbershops when we first came to Colorado and they MESSED him up. Raymond always gives him a clean fade & line up. My son is biracial and 5 years old. First off, any barber at Altitude is going to give you a killer cut and or beard work. Hands down, the best barbershop around. So happy I found Altitude and specifically Mike Oleary. I needed a new style and Mike took the time to listen to me and then he spent a great deal of time understanding my hair, the way it grows, and the very best look for me! I left with the best cut I've ever had and for sure the best beard work! I can assure you that you will leave this place feeling on top of the world and confident in your style! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and my initial barber but he ended up leaving and it was just a mess. The booking system is terrible and my barber consistently calls me to reschedule after booking. Most barbers seem like they are high while working which I am find with if they can do a good job, but the last haircut was so bad I decided to not come back. This has been my go to spot since 2017/2018ish. I've dealt almost exclusively with Chris "Murph". I've once had another barber cut my hair, when he was out once, I think it was his brother Sean. That was also a good cut. I'd my hair one way for a while, then asked about another style. I didn't have to say much. Chris knew pretty much exactly what I was wanting, and the 2nd style came out great. I've been going with that (Skin fade type cut) for the last 2ish years. (Most can ignore this part. This is just me ranting a little on expectations of some customers). There are a few 1 star reviews, but those reviews are based on some goofy reasons revolving not catering to someone. They are one of the best barber spots around a 25+ mile radius. The downside of that is they're booked up heavy, and popular. If you need a cut on a Tuesday you should book out 2+ weeks ahead of that Tuesday. This spot is appointment only. You can't be upset about that. That's like going to a 5 star restaurant, that's always booked, asking for them to do all these special things as a walk in customer... and expecting them to get you a table. They're simply going to LOSE business trying to cater to someone that isn't even a regular. The customer isn't always right. If you want walk-in service go to super-cuts or whatever generic place that'll most likely jack your hair up. read more

I came in with nice long hair that I really loved and carried my look, The very back of my head was getting a little too long so I asked him if they could just trim it up a little but keep it long. So around 30 minutes goes by and I look at my hair I get all my sides buzzed and my front trimmed and all of my hair that I love gone. Barbara definitely did not listen to what I wanted and did not care. But he was respectful and I could see the other customers noticing that I hated my hair and it was a terrible cut. My girlfriend including 10 other friends have left me because of how my hair looks now. Would definitely not recommend going here if you have long hair. my barber was Joshua if you're wondering. I recently relocated from Florida to Denver and found this place over the interweb. I walked and immediately noticed it was very warm, welcoming, non-pretentious but very current. While waiting I noticed the staff working on perfectly executing various current men's haircuts. Grant G. was my Barber he was thorough, professional, great conversationalist but most importantly he listens.. I can't say enough good things about Grant G. and the rest of the staff at Altitude Barbershop. If you are new to the area and looking for a professional barber shop come here  if you already live here and have a barber ...break up with your current barber and come here.
