Shame on you Ron! Beware women- sadly, this shop will take advantage of you and your wallet any chance they get! The starter first showed signs of trouble in Orem, UT. By the time we got to Grand Junction, CO we knew we had a problem. As we reached Denver, we got a referal for Urabus and gave John a call. He was on the road, but immediately happy to help and directed us to his brother Jeremy. I dropped in on Jeremy that morning and had a great visit. He assured me that if I brought Bianca in the next morning, they'd hook me up with a sweet TDI starter using a Rocky Moutain Westy / VanCafe adapter plate and have me back on the road by the end of the day. Sure enough, the next day Bianca was back in action. I spent far too much of the guys' time before paying and being on my way. We had a tour of the shop, got a tutorial on failed starters and talked about VWs, the VW community and vanlife in general. I honestly felt like I was hanging with friends--how often do you say that about your mechanic? That day was really a game changer for us. Any residual nervousness faded away and we were able to simply enjoy the trip--and revel in the new high torque starter--and the great service we received.
