Pay $250 I felt ok at the time, but I decided to get tested anyways because of an upcoming social event. Surprisingly, I tested positive. Wonk wonk... but the good thing was that I knew to (sadly but) responsibly stay at home to prevent spreading it. I wish there was a cheaper alternative for flu tests instead of going into an urgent care. These urgent care visits always leave me with anxiety I never know how much it would cost until weeks later. It also doesn't help that my insurance has such high deductible. Wait time was ok because I had an appointment. The person who swabbed my nose was nice. Living is expensive. Just don't get sick and you'll be ok.

Very poor ethics, if they have any at all. If this is what they teach their students is neglect, we are going to have some terrible doctors and nurses. If you can avoid this hospital, by all means do so. Nobody has returned my calls or messages or even attempted to fix me. I should've never went to them. I've never been to such an urgent care with such fast and attentive service. Doctor Chang ordered a CT scan to check the abdomen, ribs and liver area and was fine with the scan in under 5 minutes of admittance. So glad we came here. Now I will say the imaging results are making up for the speedy check-in. It's been over an hour since the CT scan and still awaiting results. So while the check-in process was speedy, getting the results back will test your patience considering how fast the admittance process was. In any case, it's still a great facility. Clean, quiet, friendly staff. I hope I don't need urgent care but if I'm in Houston and find myself in a jam, I would certainly choose to come here.

The time taken to explain the illness, treatment protocol, medication dosing, need for return if symptoms worsen in both verbal and written method assured we had complete understanding how to care for ourselves on discharge. The quick response placing my daughter in a room from the lobby, exam, and lab tests was impressive. This group of professionals from registration, to MD, NP, RN, and lab could give a seminar on how to provide excellence in care to Free Standing and hospital based ER's. Its the standard others should strive for none less. After they got testing back with her permission they told us we were at risk, due to the type infection and our exposure to her sickness. We were tested and prescribed prophylaxis as recommended by CDC which checked the box for standards of care as well. Healthcare treatment is a choice and as an Registered Nurse myself working over 40 plus years in critical care and ED sometimes your experience is far less than desired or standards of care. Today as a family we were lucky to choose Rice Emergency Room. We are from out of town just blindly walked in but if I lived in Houston Rice ED would be my first choice for care. My decision would not only be from a patient's perspective but as a Healthcare professional. I did not disclose I was a nurse there was no need to. Thank each of you Rice ED staff .
