Discovered that when I took a bath and ran the dishwasher only to see brown ( not that kind) water coming up from the basement drain. Fox came out the next day and fixed that problem. Next, our Lowe's water softener stopped working after 20 years. I am research oriented so I had a few possibilities from carefully reading through reputable ratings. The Lowe's Whirlpool is good enough to outlive me but Fox's one is much much better and will definitely outlive me. Lowe's does not install but recommends plumbers. So again, I am researching, knowing that these plumbers are independent from Lowes and that bothers me. My neighbor is a plumber but he overcharges and isnt very good. Lowe's recommended plumbers have consistently low ratings in areas that are concerning. I don't expect perfect reviews because anyone in business is bound to have a few dissatisfied customers. So Lowe's is out. I need a good plumber. FOX is consistently recommended by those in the know. I felt Jeff, who took care of both problems, gave us good recommendations for our home and our usage. I decided for the slight difference in price to go to the larger unit. I am sure I paid more than I would have at Lowes with installation. But I have better product. FOX did not quote the unit separate from the labor. My understanding is most of the cost of a water softener is the installation. I have peace of mind that our water softener was correctly installed by a company that will remain in business and should something go wrong they will make it right.

The guys who fixed our boilers were GREAT!! But sadly, we will be going with another company because of this ladies attitude. The technician told me he could not get past 45 feet of line and suggested there was a collapsed pipe in my yard. I was verbally quoted a repair in the $6,000-$18,000 range. Before committing to a repair of that size, I obtained a second opinion. The second plumbing company cleared a blockage and provided video confirmation that there was no collapse or structural damage. Based on the major misdiagnosis, I requested a refund under their advertised 100% satisfaction guarantee. Communication was slow, and I was made to feel like the video proof I provided from the second company was insufficient (even though it was time stamped, dated, and I shared the invoice summary). I initially received only a partial refund. After multiple follow-ups and escalation to ownership, I was ultimately refunded in full. I'm sharing this so others (especially first time homeowners) understand the importance of getting a second opinion before approving major excavation or high-cost repairs. While the final outcome was a full refund, it required time and persistence to resolve.

Plumbing Service on 8/2/2025…read more I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the plumbing service I received from Zoom Drain on August 2, 2025. I contacted your company for three issues: 1. A clogged drain in my walk-in tub 2. A replacement for the tub's drain stopper 3. A small leak under the kitchen sink I was told there would be a $200+ service charge--regardless of whether any work was completed. That should have been my first red flag. When the technician, Eric, arrived, it quickly became clear that he did not know what he was doing. Not only did he fail to resolve any of the issues, but he also managed to make the situation worse. As for the simple task of replacing a drain stopper, I was told it would require an entirely separate visit. Seriously? This is unacceptable. I paid for a service and received nothing of value in return. There was no resolution, no professionalism, and certainly no reason to justify the cost. I trusted your company to provide reliable service, but this experience has felt like nothing short of a scam. I will be sharing my experience publicly so others can avoid the same mistake. Use this company at your own risk.
