Our daughter R is thriving at Kindercare Alvarado! She has only attended for six months and already we have noticed a marked acceleration of her learning, her motor and social skills, and her confidence. She is a social kid who does well with group activities and lots of engagement, and the staff have delivered on that. Art projects, outdoor play, creative group activities -- she enjoys it all. I know because she's exhausted at the end of her day :) and constantly singing new songs or pointing out new colors, animals, etc. she learned about at "school." I also appreciate how communicative and responsive staff are. R experienced a few incidents with other students, and her teachers were prompt in notifying us of the situation, explaining how and why they handled the response, as well as following up after a few days to see how R was doing. I am also impressed by how every staff member seems to know every kid's name, even those not in their primary classrooms. They are so attentive, compassionate, and respectful of even the smallest humans. The Fremont Alvarado KinderCare is the best of the best! All of the teachers are kind, caring, and excited to take care of your child. We put our son in the Discovery Preschool program when he was 2 year old. Prior to him joining, he had a speech delay, didn't really eat, and was very shy. Thank goodness we enrolled him because within 2 weeks he was talking up a storm, making friends, and eating all new food and even vegetables (this I still cannot believe). I have seen him truly blossom here and it was worth every penny. I never have to worry when I drop my son off. Every single person knows my son, me and my partner which makes it feel like they are actually involved instead of just one of the kids or families at the center. The curriculum is so creative, fun, and adorable. Sometimes they have special activities like a reptile man, fire fighter visit, and a petting zoo. My son has really learned so much since joining. I am forever grateful to everyone at this center from the teachers to the managers to the cooks and cleaners. We are looking forward to enrolling our daughter in this center once she is 2 also. read more

My son attended Alvarado KinderCare from 2020 to 2023, starting when he was just 6 months old. As first-time parents during COVID, cleanliness and health were our biggest concerns. To be fair, the infant classroom had wonderful teachers. I still remember Ms. Yo Yo and Ms. Mia, who genuinely cared for the babies. My son enjoyed being there and formed great bonds with them. Unfortunately, he was sick constantly--sometimes it felt like every other week. During those three years he brought home illnesses including hand, foot, and mouth disease, stomach viruses, roseola, and other infections. I understand that children in daycare get sick, but it felt excessive. I often wondered if it was because there were simply too many children in such a cramped space. Another issue was the high teacher turnover. It seemed like good teachers rarely stayed, and there was very little consistency for the children. Our experience took a dramatic turn during my son's final year in Layana's class. One teacher, Ms. Deja, consistently came across as unfriendly toward me. At pickup and drop-off she frequently avoided eye contact or rolled her eyes, and I personally felt I was being treated differently. The incident that led us to leave happened after my son suffered a minor injury while playing. No one contacted me during the day, and I only discovered the injury at pickup. When I calmly asked why I hadn't been informed sooner, the conversation escalated unexpectedly. Ms. Deja became extremely upset, accused me of yelling at her--which I did not do--and began raising her voice. There were cameras in the classroom and other staff members present. A lead teacher, Ms. Yara, came over after hearing the commotion while Ms. Deja was telling me to get out of her sight. That experience left me shaken. Whether or not others would view the situation the same way, I no longer felt comfortable leaving my child there, so I withdrew him immediately. It's unfortunate because the first couple of years had both positives and negatives, and my son genuinely enjoyed his friends. But from my experience, the way this situation was handled--and the fact that behavior like this appeared to be tolerated--destroyed my confidence in the center. We later enrolled him in another preschool in Fremont, and the difference was night and day. He became healthier, happier, and looked forward to going to school every day. Looking back, I wish I had paid more attention to the early warning signs. Every family's experience is different, but based on ours, I would recommend looking at other childcare options before choosing this facility. read more

My wife and I started using this service when our daughter was accepted at around six months old. Recently, our daughter transitioned from the infant class to the toddler class, and that makes me very happy because during the time she has been there, I've seen her grow and progress. She went from sitting on the floor to crawling, standing up, walking, dancing, saying her first words, and more. In short, I've seen that the daycare has been very beneficial for her and for us as well, as it helps us teach her things and also allows us to go about our daily activities, like going to work. I have to admit that the cost of daycare is a bit high, but it has been worth every dollar invested because when she moved up to the next class, my wife and I were able to see all the activities our daughter had done in class and how she progressed over time. To conclude, I must mention that all the teachers are very kind and genuinely care about each child in the class. We've had two of our kids attend this daycare for the past 3 years, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From day one, the entire team.. especially the administrative team of Yvonne, Yara, and Ellen, has been incredibly supportive, caring, and responsive. I can't say enough good things about Alvarado Kindercare. Every single staff member cares deeply about the kids in their care, and the leadership team is engaged and communicative. I have 3 kids under 3 (yes, really) and they are all THRIVING here. They get to do a huge variety of activities each week--art projects, lots of outside time, structured learning units, special events for holidays and summer--all while socializing with their peers and building life skills. The culture here is positive energy eg: you're wished warmly on entering the premise, almost everyone knows my kids names whether they are their teachers or not. The place is clean and hygienic. This daycare is a solid 5 star in my opinion. I can't speak to all of the programs here but my baby girl (currently 11 months) comes here for infant daycare and the staff and teachers here that we've interacted with have been exceptional! We've been with the center since our baby was 3 months old and they've really taken the time to understand her and build bonds with her. I can tell my baby loves being here by the way she smiles at them whenever I drop her off (sometimes even brighter smile than when she sees me!) which makes me feel so much more comfortable knowing that she's in good hands and interacting and developing with babies around her age at such a important time period where everything is still new to her. The director of the center here is also very friendly and receptive of feedback. I've had no issue raising any concerns as they arise and they were always very quick to adjust if needed to meet my individual baby's need. They also have an app where you can see live updates of when baby is being fed or napping, and also pictures here and there of what they're doing during the day, which is usually the highlight of my day seeing my little one having fun Bottom line is if you're looking for a dependable daycare program, and it makes sense for you from a location and cost perspective, I would recommend checking this place out and putting it on the top of the list to consider. I can't explain how wonderful KinderCare Alvarado has been with my 27 month old's development. I've been with Kindercare since my son was 7 month old. My son is in the DPS class and the teachers are attentive to his daily needs and changes, communicative and overall positive. The Director is very helpful and always available to speak to via the app or over the phone. They provide hourly updates that include, potty training, food, naps, teachings etc. My son is also is their phonics class and I love how much more communicative he is. In regards to the cost, I believe its Worth IT! In addition to the above, they provide all meals and snacks. They also work very had with us on his potty training. Overall although no daycare is perfect, I do believe this Kindercare's staff really do care about our children and make the effort to put our minds at ease by being communicative, open and attentive to each child's individual needs. read more

My daughter started here when she was 18 months old and the transition was extremely smooths. The teachers are extremely loving and were extra attentive to make the transition seamless. They were available to chat on the phone for any questions and there is app which provides constant updates related to meals, diaper changes, activities that's currently happening in class. They update the app with pictures on a daily basis to show what the child is doing and it's extremely easy to communicate via the app. During drop off and pick off, everyone greets my daughter and it's an extremely warm environment. The food served is nutritious and they take extra precautions for any dietary restrictions as well. My daughter is extremely happy there and she waits to go every morning. It was very bittersweet to leave Alvarado KinderCare due to a job relocation. Our daughter was enrolled at 6 months old and left at age 2. During our year and a half at Alvarado KinderCare the staff and the care provided has been excellent. The leadership team is responsive and personable and the teachers were attentive to our daughter's needs and patient with us as new parents. The worst kindercare ever. I put my 20months old there and the 1st day she had a big scratch mark under her right eye and since she cant really feed herself and i kindly asked them to help her eat bcs she born premature ( she is a bit behind on everything) and none of the teachers helped... she was starving from 9am-4pm.... Which i was still okay with that like she is going to get used to it, but the second day when i came to pick her up, i saw her "playing"outdoor, crying on the asphalt and none of the teachers were giving her any love or care.... They were all gathered together and chitchatted... Plus she was starving again!!!! So i dont know why i was paying $565 per week for?! Sadly, all of the parents who bring their kids there, they are all super busy with work, and they got no time to see how their kids are doing.... Im very disappointed! read more

While our child was attending this school, there were multiple waves of HFM outbreaks. We caught HFM and had an ear infection- lots of illnesses during the short time we were there. During one of the outbreaks, I notified the director that our child was sick too and she was like "okay" without offering any additional support. The classroom was poorly ventilated. Teachers were okay; just doing their jobs nothing special. We noticed a long scratch on our child's back, possibly from diaper changes (and some teachers had long fingernails). Our child cried at drop off and pick up for the majority of the time while attending this daycare. When we transitioned to another daycare, it was a no-tear transition. I love this place and I'm so sad to be leaving. My daughter is now in elementary school and still attending KinderCare for after school care. Currently she's waitlisted for her schools on-site program and I know she'll be leaving KinderCare soon. I wanted to update my review because it's been over 4 years, there's been turn around with staff and some of my favorites teachers are gone now but the new hires are just as amazing. Ms. Debbie, Ms. Harvey and Ms. Mojan have been there since day one and they have been incredible with my kids, Yara and Yvonne have been such a huge support for me over the years and continue to be now even as part time care. I truly love the staff here and appreciate their constant care and affection for my kids. Having both the kids in elementary school and going through their initial assessments made me even more thankful to have them here as they were more advanced than most of the kids in their class and that's all because of the great curriculum they had at KinderCare. We were about to enroll my toddler in this daycare. We actually paid the non refundable fee and a couple days after, we decided not to go forward with it. This daycare has a long waitlist (over a year for the toddler program) so when they called us to let us know they have a spot for my 20 months old, we were honestly really excited. I went for a tour at 10 am with Ms. Yara. She's sweet and knows the kids who come in by name which I liked. We went inside the daycare and it smelt like food (strong spices) and felt stuffy. You wouldn't wanna be inside for more than an hr tbh, let alone an entire day. I assumed it was close to lunch time but that was the first observation. Then she showed me the toddler room. I didn't really go inside, just stood by the door. I think I saw 3 teachers inside with the kids. Some kids were just sitting on the floor silently not sure why with a teacher but there was no conversation going on. Other kids were just playing on their own on the side. I didn't see any interaction between the teachers and the students so it was a concern for me tbh. Again, maybe it was calm down time before lunch idk.. but kids this age should be making noises and talking (at least my kid just keeps talking all day lol even if it's gibberish). Room doesn't get much sun light compared to other daycares I visited. That's something I also didn't like. Playground is nice it has these little fun cars to play with and a small tree house which is cool. Tour overall wasn't bad and that's why I went ahead with the enrollment fee. A few days later, I went to pick up some forms and the lack of interaction between the teachers and students from the tour was bugging me so after I picked up the forms, I decided to just stay in my car in the parking lot and see how the teachers interact with the kids in the playground. I observed for maybe 30-1hr. I saw 3 teachers. The first one was nice. She was playing with them and cheering the ones that were playing basketball. She seemed nice. The other one was just walking around silently. She didn't speak to any of the kids while I was watching them. She was just monitoring them. If anyone gets stuck, she helps them out (silently again) and that's it. She didn't look like she's enjoying what she's doing. I felt like she was just doing the bare minimum to get by. And this was still very early in the morning like 10 am or so. If that's the behavior at the beginning of the day, then how will it be near the end? Anyway, the kids were playing independently while she's watching. I saw her shake her head as one of the toddlers were standing on the bench. I mean, kids climb everything. It's normal behavior. There is no reason to shake one's head. She just went and put the kid down and walked away. At some point there weren't any teachers visible while the kids were playing. Not sure if they went inside or at the back of the building. It wasn't in my line of vision but I didn't see them around the kids for a few minutes. The playground is safe but you still can't let them out of your sight. Fast forward a few mins, another teacher came out but she was holding an iPad and a bunch of papers and just sat down and was working on them. 0 interaction whatsoever I Dont even think she looked at any of the kids lol. When it was time to go inside, this one teacher who only spoke Spanish (even tho during the tour, I was told that this is an English speaking daycare), came out and kept speaking to the kids who didn't look Hispanic in Spanish and you can tell she doesn't know English. And then she started grabbing them by the arm. None of them cried but it looked like a not so nice grip on the arms and this is not how I do things with my son so to me that was a big no no. No one bothered SPEAK to the kids and say let's go inside. It was just forced. She grabbed like 3 of them that way and everyone went inside and that's when I left. We called them the day after and told them we are no longer interested in enrolling. They didn't even ask us for the reason which tbh shows how much they don't care. This is my objective review. From what I have seen, we didn't feel comfortable putting our son in this daycare. It's not up to our standards. We didn't feel that the teachers are passionate about kids or being there. Just looked like they will do the bare minimum if they could. and seeing how silent and not talkative the kids were, it was just weird. Our kid is active, happy, loves to interact and I Dont want to just dump him in a daycare that won't help him grow. We enrolled him in another daycare where the teachers are so so warm. They are super interactive. All the kids looks happy and were waving at us and saying hello when we were on the tour and everyone looked like they care about the kids. read more

My son has been at this KinderCare for about 1.5 years now (he's now almost 2). We toured at least 6 different daycares, both facility-based and home-based, and did a lot of research. He started at a home-based daycare and we took him out when we realized we wanted more structure and kids to play with. KinderCare costs more than home-based daycare AND it is definitely worth it! Since 7 months old my son has been enrolled in this location. The teachers are so incredible, always receiving all kids and babies with a warm and lovely welcome. You really see a difference in their development, social skills and abilities overall. My daughter has been coming to this KinderCare facility since she was eight months old. I must say, her growth and development in the past 1 1/2 years have been positively tremendous. If anything, I'm kind of sad that she's growing way too fast for me. At any event, my husband and I are very happy with the teachers and the management, as well as their structured programs for each age group (i.e., infant, toddler, 2-yr old, 3-yr old, etc.). It is like a second home for my daughter ... most of the teachers are very warm and personable. I understand it is a bit pricey for some families, but if you could afford it, I would recommend bringing your child to KinderCare. It is a fun, enriching and safe environment for kids. We feel very secure leaving our daughter here. She is very happy, has made several friends and continues to make new friends, and applies practical learning at home--at eighteen months--such as washing hands before mealtime and cleaning up her toys. The teachers and staff at Alvarado KinderCare are all incredibly caring and supportive of both the kids and parents. Both my sons started in the infant class with Ms. Yoyo and Ms. Katherine when they were almost 4 months old. My older son has also gone through the toddler and discover preschool programs with Ms. Amy and Ms. Yara and has grown a lot in those classes. Everyone is always very responsive to any questions I've had. Now that there is an app, we can get updates throughout the day, including photos, and I can tell my kids are always happy and engaged in whatever they are doing. During Covid, they have put into place strict guidelines to ensure the health and safety of every family as much as they can. It has of course been very hard and frustrating whenever we have had to keep both kids at home due to most likely simple colds, but we do understand the necessity during this time, and it's a challenge you would get with any good daycare center during a pandemic. At least I know I can trust them fully with the well being of my children. I'm very glad to have my kids enrolled here and highly recommend this center. read more

Simply put, the Kindercare family is our family. Our son has been attending Alvarado Kindercare since he was 5 months old, and he will be graduating TK this coming spring! Finding care for your children is one of the most stressful things a parent can do, but we have been blessed to find a center that works great for us. Staff is kind, flexible, accessible and caring. We can name every single one of his teachers through the years, and they all hold a special place in our hearts. The fact is that kids spend so much time away from home in a childcare or school setting, therefore it's important to us that our son learns to follow rules, and use his manners just like he's expected to at home. Teachers at Kindercare are an extension of us, and enforce the same expectations, and we appreciate that. He's learned so much in all his years at Alvarado Kindercare, and will be beyond ready to start Kindergarten in the Fall. The center is engaging and organizes lots of fun activities for the kids year round. Unfortunately our lives have been turned upside down with the current pandemic, so we took some extra time to keep our son at home for a few months this year until we again made the difficult decision to "send him back out into the world". We are beyond pleased with the measures staff at Alvarado Kindercare have put into place. Hygiene, safety, and communication have become top priority, and we feel more at ease with the decision we made to send our son back to school with his friends, (many of whom he's been with since he was a baby), and his teachers who really truly seem to care about him and us. They continue to organize fun activities to keep things as normal as possible for the kids, and while we miss participating in many of those activities with him, we appreciate the concern for safety, and receive many pictures and notes through the Kindercare app to stay and feel involved. Its a terrible place to send your kids to. I enrolled my 14 month old son and had to take him back within 2 days. They were treating all the kids like prisoners they had no care no intensions of making it easy for the child to fit in. He was crying and sad all day. They refused to heat up the milk for him the first few days. They man handled him when changing his diaper and did not bother to console him when he was crying. The other kids did not seem to have any attachment towards their teachers either. The kids were very dirty. The teacher tried to shove the food into my kids mouth just to show us that they are trying when they saw us outside the door. This place isn't worthy to be called a day care let alone charging 4 times other places. read more

My son started here on 9/16 this year and we withdrew him from the center on 9/25. Out of the total 9 days, he went to the center for only 5 days. Our experience was bad with our kid being neglected and not given the TLC that a toddler will need when he/she is out of the house and with someone else other than parents. The fact that the little crying kid was left to soothe himself was very saddening. Also the eyewitness account of how the toddlers are not really coaxed to try to eat their lunch. We did get the 'plate full' picture but I saw with my own eyes how 7 of the 8 kids did not even touch their food and it all went in the garbage. This is not just food waste but also your kid going hungry the entire day. If the teachers don't even have the will to sit with the kids and encourage them to eat, I don't know how I can trust that they will actually offer something later in the afternoon to the kid to eat. The teachers were trying finish their post lunch clean up during the lunch so they have one less thing to do later. The centers director was also not very understanding having told me that it's corporate policy to give 2 weeks notice and that even though my son started 1.5 weeks ago, I still have to pay for the next 2 weeks regardless of whether he comes or not. That like $1010 that I have to pay! This is ridiculous. I understand the corporate policy but shouldn't it also be understood by kindercare corporate that if the kid has just started, how can I anticipate that we will have to withdraw him because of the the really bad attitude of the caregivers! I am angry that as a parent I had to endure this and sad that my son had to bear the brunt of this as well. I will never recommend this center to any of my friends and neighbors. BAD!!!!! It's not the kids that bring this. It's the filth of the facility that creates this. I have been taking my son to Kindercare since he was 4 months old. I have seen tremendous development for the past 2 years. The staff is very friendly and they provide my son the same nurturing environment that I want for him since I cannot be a stay at home mom. They care for their kids that go there and if any situation may arise they are very prompt on calling the parents. Keep up the great job!!!!! My son went to Alvarado Kindercare from the time he was 15 months old to about 18 months old - a short period of time, but we only left because we moved to Oakland. I stayed at home with him for the first 15 months and then had to go back to work and was so incredibly nervous and picky about where I entrusted his care to. I LOVED Kindercare and most importantly, my son absolutely loved it there too. He became so attached to his teachers in the toddler room. Ms. Beatriz, Ms. Hazel and Ms. Ellen were all so amazing with him. He learned a ton, blossomed before my eyes and has become an incredibly curious boy under their care. I honestly wish he could have stayed there longer. He will be starting a new school this week and I know he is going to miss his teachers at Kindercare Alvarado so very much. Frankly, so will I, because there is nothing like going to work with the confidence that your child is in capable, loving hands. I felt as though the toddler room had the perfect amount of structure and play-based learning. My son learned how to do so many things - eat on his own, take naps on his own, and was clearly free to be his own kid. His personality bloomed and there is nothing more I wanted for him (except maybe just more time at home with me!). The classrooms were clean, toys were engaging and also kept clean. The routine there provided a very good structure for my son, which I now try to stick to. All in all, we had a wonderful experience here. read more

Both my kids attended this day care. My daughter started in the infant class at 9months and graduated from pre-K at the age of 5. My son followed suit (we signed up for a spot for him before he was born!) and he started at 10months old. The teachers really do care so much and my kids loved attending this center and misses it so much! Almost all the teachers we came across during our years there were stellar. I like that they have a nice curriculum and kids learn so much. I am a big fan of their optional Phonics and Math program too. My daughter was way ahead of the class when she started K. My son started going there since he was just before 2. He had some developmental delays and was not eating well. They really helped him catching up and now he is doing very well. My son just loves his "school" and all his teachers, and so do we. read more

I sent both my kids here. My daughter has been in this center from when she was 3.5 years old till 5. My son has been here for a month in the infant program. The teachers are amazing always welcoming with smile. My daughter loves her teachers Ms.Tania, Ms.Farima and Ms.Aricelli. She has lots of activities and play time. It's a home after home for my kids and I am worry free once I leave them here. read more

When my daughter first started here at 12 months Everything was all good. Teachers and director Aracely (at the time) were very helpful and compassionate I felt like my daughter was truly cared about by her teachers and center staff. My daughter is now 3 and has been kicked out of this center for "behavior issues" which I understand is not acceptable to a certain point but the way my daughter was dealt with this last year was completely unprofessional and for the first time I questioned what was going on while I was not around. I was getting reports that were completely out of my daughters normal behavior and the director yvonne called my 3 year old "disrespectful" and questioned my household, insinuating that I taught such bad behavior at home. I just honestly felt like as people who choose to work with children and go to school to learn how to deal with different personalities and behaviors they should have had better approaches and attitude towards my situation instead of looking at everything negatively and making my child seem like the worst kid of all time. At that point I just felt as if my child was being picked on there was several occasions where the staff was so close to my child in her face and at the point where one teacher said she was trying to hug her because she was upset but ended up telling me she wrapped her arms around her whole body so that she couldn't move which resulted in my kid biting her arm NO biting is not acceptable but no child should be restrained especially if they are upset there are many other approaches that could have been taken without restraining. I wont say the whole experience here was like this because it wasn't it was great for the first 2 years and as soon as management began to switch around too often I knew something was off here. My daughters currently enrolled in a new preschool and has had perfect behavior there not one complaint she even tells me "mommy I love my new school" everything has been so positive with her new teachers as well as her development. Everything happens for a reason and this move of school ended up working in our favor we couldn't be happier. read more
