Wow, this place is amazing! Not only beautiful by design and flow, but a super clean fitness facility designed specifically for the 50 year old and above individuals. Discovered this gym from the Next Door app, a neighbor recommended it. Went to check it out, toured the fitness center, signed up last month after contemplating if we wanted to really commit to the lifestyle changes we needed and truly wanted to make. It's been a few weeks now so I want to give an honest review. First, the gym is more of a contemporary wellness center/fitness center. It is refreshing, innovative and the cleanest gym I've ever belonged to. Our gym experience in a historical background perspective - been a gym member at 24Hr in my 20's-40's Gold's gym in my 40's-50's, so for decades- belonged to a gym, and frequented regularly. Also last 8 years had our own home gym equipment. Had to sell the home gym equipment to make room for the grandchild's crib! So here we are. We were in search of a gym once again. This is a family owned business and the owners are health conscious. One can see they put a lot of thought into this small business. They have NEW state of the art equipment, with technology-app enhanced features which helps with tracking one's fitness. There's professional physical therapy trainers and consultants for nutrition/dietician, massage specialists, trainers that are there to support and teach not to merely sell you. Two group classrooms for yoga, balance, stretch, chair, core classes, etc.. it's a wide range of activities which I haven't had the chance to participate in yet but will in the future. There are extracurricular activities for community building and social support. I really like that feature. As people get older it is often challenging to find friends and a social support network. They help build that in. I can see how this is such an added bonus for retirees. I'm not quite there yet but very forward thinking, I love it. Great concepts fulfilling human social and developmental needs. There are 3 levels of membership. I was able to join through my Active & Fit employer membership for $32/month per person for access to facilities;the "core" level membership. Classes in core enrollment level is $18 per class. Wish the classes were inclusive at the core membership level. However, one can join higher tier membership like the Infinity level at $85 month and get unlimited everything and many additional benefits to all their offered activities. The one concern and recommendation I'd have for AIM is to get Guest WiFi up and running in order for the apps to run faster and have a better connection. It is a bit frustrating at times when it is not connecting to the equipment. Obstacles can be annoying. The equipment includes cardio-treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent cycles, recumbent elliptical, working both arms and legs, strength training machines, free weights, etc. they really have so much it is more than any person would want. The gym is well lit, fun music from our generation (baby boomers and forward) and a spacious clean feeling throughout the gym. The staff is helpful, friendly and professional. Check it out! Always in Motion on Warner in Huntington Beach is definitely a facility I recommend. Along with being a very clean gym, it offers many diverse classes and individual help. Their equipment is unlike any I have seen and appears to be helping many even with limited abilities. It is for age 5o and older and the staff is very caring and knowledgeable. After a disappointing lack of results from another PT location, I was very happy to find this place. I was impressed with the first appointment which reviewed my xrays and MRI to design a custom program for me. I am happy to report that my pain is diminished in duration and intensity thanks to Justin Isaac's work with me. read more

There are in gym and on-line classes taught by trainers who are Physical Therapists and movement specialists. You won't hurt yourself by trying to keep up with a 20 year old! Over my long lifetime, I joined several gyms. A couple were exclusive and a couple were at the opposite end. I finally found my perfect gym. It's Always In Motion in Huntington Beach. I don't go to the gym in fancy expensive clothes designed to show off my curves, which are now curvier than I like, I go because I know it's good for me. Two days after I joined Always In Motion in January 2025, I fell over a ladder and broke my femur and my hip. After two weeks in the hospital and Medicare-provided physical therapy, I knew I needed something more concentrated if I was going to regain muscle and strength which was totally gone over 2 months. Always In Motion has a very highly educated and committed staff of physical therapists who have specific training in geriatric rehab. I signed on with one, Jake, who set up a personalized program to get me back walking normally and rebuild muscles lost from two months being bedridden. It was tough at first but with the variety of equipment that they have and the patient and challenging training I received I got stronger and stronger, and when I went back to the doctor for my 2nd postoperative visit he was absolutely amazed. He wanted to know all about my PT and basically told me that whatever we were doing just keep doing it --so I am! I am almost ready to dump my cane and resume a normal life after less than four months living with two titanium rods, and four screws in my leg. Always In Motion isn't just for people recovering however, there is a large collection of "over the hill"people who are working out there to stay mobile. There's a wide variety of programs and classes you can join and some really amazingly diverse equipment in a clean and welcoming environment. I am fortunate that my insurance program covers my monthly cost as it does for many people. If you're over 50 and trying to keep yourself in good shape or get healthier and stronger, this might be your best option. I have really enjoyed talking to other older adults there as we all seem to have the same goals. It's nice to be in an environment which isn't a "meet market" geared to younger gym goers. There's machines for everything you want to work out and free weights are in abundance. This group has really helped me get back on my feet. They are, in my opinion, the best group of professional training and overall coaches in my quest to stay mobile and healthy as I get older. I am in better shape then when I was younger. The new gym/wellness center, Always in Motion, is just beautiful! Friendly, welcoming receptionists greet you when you walk in, and the gym is immaculate and tastefully decorated. Limited to the 50 and older crowd, it's the perfect place to work on strength, balance and confidence. There are massage therapists that I've heard are very good, but I haven't tried a massage yet. Kelly has been my trainer twice a week for more than two years (starting at the Senior Center). She is encouraging, upbeat and knowledgeable. She's very attentive to my arthritic hip and shoulder pain when it flares up, and has given me helpful instruction on how to adjust workouts to improve and strengthen my body. She is also a physical therapist, so she knows what she's talking about. I'm also taking the Osteo-blast class with Mark and it's small (3-4 people), so we get individualized attention, even though it's a class. It's a very friendly environment--staff and members--so if you feel intimidated or nervous about the thought of working out at a gym, check out Always in Motion--I can pretty much guarantee you will not feel that way here. I'm a lifetime wheelchair user and had lived very actively and independently all my adult life until contracting Covid and subsequent long Covid in 2021. I felt I was becoming more and more incapable of caring for myself as well as depressed and socially withdrawn. A dear friend convinced me to visit AIM and I signed up for personal training with Jake to improve my core strength and mobility. It's been nearly 8 months and I could not be happier! I have been with Always in Motion since September of 2021. I initially started out with five personal training sessions with Mark Sheptock. Then I joined his Osteoblast Class to continue to try to improve my bone health. I'm thrilled to report that I reversed my osteoporosis of my left hip to osteopenia in only four short months! Previously my T-score was -2.6. Now my T-score is -2.2. In the last five years whenever I'd have my bone scan, my numbers remained stable. This year I actually saw improvement. I know it was because I had been on Mark's program to help improve my bone density through weight-bearing exercises. His class is fun, educational, and inspiring! Review of Always in Motion physical therapy. As an 86-year-old male, I could not walk without having a deep fear of falling. My balance was terrible and I had to rely on a walker to get by. Neuropathy robbed me of feeling anything but pain in my calves. After several falls requiring the aid of the Huntington Beach Emergency Response Team, I decided to enlist the aid of a balance specialist--one of my good decisions. Justin Isaacs showed up on my doorstep. He was very personable. Justin explained the long-term and short-term plans for improving my balance. We went to work on all of my balance systems, improving my posture and strengthening my leg muscles. Working with Justin has been not only pleasurable but also productive. He has a great sense of humor. He has never been late for a session, and when necessary, he will deviate from a planned lesson to explain or provide demonstrations of ancillary exercises. His training paid off dividends for me recently when I fell in my house. I managed to get myself up by following the lessons Justin had instilled in me. If I had to point out any shortfalls in Justin, it is that he's captured the heart of my dog who just loves him. read more

I just completed a few months of private PT with Kelly. I am so grateful for her instruction. A year ago i was diagnosed with Parkinson's and felt pretty concerned about my activities . Before working out with Always in Motion, I was dealing with a serious knee issue which caused me a lot of pain. It was painful to perform daily activities, such as walking and going up a flight of stairs. The Doctors of Physical Therapy and the other Movement Specialists at Always in Motion, taught me how to move and exercise without aggravating my knee. They used live instruction and feedback to teach me the correct form and which muscles I should be using for each movement. I am now walking several miles each day without pain. I met Lori Isaacs shortly after becoming a member at the Huntington Beach Senior Center. My goal was to utilize the well equipped fitness center to lose weight, increase my strength and just feel better. At the time I didn't realize Lori was about to change my life. The initial phase involved a very thorough and comprehensive assessment of my strengths and weaknesses. Lori then developed a workout regimen tailored to my needs. She also emphasized the importance of having fun. One half hour two days a week saw dramatic improvements in my core, balance, strength and overall fitness. I lost 26% of body fat and gained 8 lbs of lean muscle mass. My clothes fit better, I sleep better, I feel better about myself while having fun at the same time. As much as I wanted to like this, I was truly disappointed with Lori, she's the older trainer. I went in to receive personal training, I have worked with personal trainers in the past so I knew what to expect. This was far from a good experience. Routines were repetitive and got very boring. Her knowledge of anatomy seemed rather limited. The classes were limited, in that Lori did not seem to have much knowledge of various movements/exercises. The workouts were extremely limited and boring. After a week, you notice she works the same muscle groups over and over with the same exercises, no variety coupled with lack of enthusiasm makes the classes dull. She had the clients before (and after me) doing the same routine. You would be better off getting a personal training lesson from someone who has a variety of exercises they can recommend for more of a full body workout (providing a personalized experience -- instead of a cookie cutter routine). While I do understand that we need to build muscle over time, this class proves the trainer is lazy and does not provide individual care. read more
