If I could leave zero stars I would. I purchased a dress from them and they sent me a completely different color dress than what I ordered. I specially ordered from them because I thought they had the color I wanted. It was like pulling teeth to get anyone to respond to my calls or emails. I finally was given the managers number and she admitted it was a mistake on their website and offered me either a refund or store credit. I opted for the refund and was clear I wanted to be refunded for the dress and the $14.95 shipping since they sent me something I did not order. It took over 4 weeks for a refund and that was only because I sent a bunch of texts and they only refunded me for the dress. I have submitted a PayPal claim for the shipping cost. I would steer clear from this company. I have never had such a more customer service experience and wasted to much time and it was all their fault and are still not making it right. read more

My recent experience at ALX left me extremely disappointed. I've been a customer for years (even remember when they had the store on SW 8st). I liked the store so much and spoke so highly of them, that a friend thought to buy me a gift card to ALX for my birthday. It took a little over a year for me to get around to using the gift card, as I hadn't had any special occasions come up but fast forward to last week, I went to buy a dress (that cost $140) and tried to use the gift card ($60) and then pay the difference. Upon presenting the gift card at the checkout counter, I was met with incredulity from the cashier who claimed that they were unable to honor the gift card due to having moved to a new system. After pushing back at the notion of a store not honoring their own gift card, she agreed to speak to the owner (Alexandra) and get back to me. Several days went by and nothing. I called again and spoke to Roxy who again said she would speak to the owner and get back to me... nothing. I tried one last time re-explaining the situation and they just stated the owner said she would not honor it because it was purchased too long ago. I asked if the owner could call me so I can explain to her the situation but she never called. I am not going to keep fighting with them over $60, but they did lose a longtime customer and I think everyone should know of their deceptive practices to not honor their own gift cards. It was purchased a year and a half before I tried to use it (they didn't even try to look to see when it was purchased - since they got a new system). No communication was ever sent to me regarding them no longer accepting previously purchased gift cards (but I do get their spam mail everyday). In addition, Florida Law Statute § 501.95 governs on the issue and states "a gift certificate purchased or credit memo issued in this state may not have an expiration date, expiration period, or any type of postsale charge or fee imposed on the gift certificate or credit memo....". I would not in good conscience recommend this store to anyone. The many one star reviews left lately should show that they don't care about their customers. I plan to tell as many people as possible about my extremely negative experience and this store's deceptive practices. read more

Whenever I have to shop for special events I have to check out the local boutiques and I've been wanting to try ALX for a while. So yesterday 4/19 I tried it for the first time and I found a lot of nice outfits. The only down side is that I asked the sales clerk if there was going to be a sale going on the following day because I bought a good close to two hundred some of clothes(to some that's a lot) the clerk said there wouldn't be a sale but right as I long into social media the next day 4/20 they were having a 50% off the ENTIRE store. This store has some of the cutest clothes. The first time I went, I was helped by a very friendly and helpful girl. I wish I could remember her name. She helped me pick outfits for a friend's birthday party I was going to. I did not like them very much, but I'm glad she was able to assist me with whatever I needed. I ended up getting a dark green velvet dress. Also, I found cute, nude wedges that you can tie around your leg. The second time around I experienced the same thing with the same girl because we recognized each other. I was looking for an outfit to a concert. Such a disappointment! I have been shopping in ALX since before they opened in Kendall. Unfortunately, I will never spend a dime in there. I bought a cuff bracelet on Wednesday. The employee bagged it for me. The next day I went to take it out of their store bag and the beads were coming off the bracelet. I called on Friday afternoon, the employee said she would ask the manager to see what could be done. (I was not looking for money back but possibly exchange it or get store credit.) I ALWAYS manage to find something that fits perfectly, not like every other boutique only made for double D humongous fake butt 'miami mamis'. I am writing this review after SEVERAL visits to this boutique. The service was disappointing every single time. I was not ever acknowledged during a couple of my visits. Mind you, they were not busy at all ... AND ... I lingered and browsed for quite a while, giving them ample opportunity to improve this low rating. Every time, the employees were either too busy talking on the phone or to each other. It seems that the employees are too young and too inexperienced; they lack professionalism. Based on the service (or lack thereof), this would have been a one-star review, but, since the store is always clean, neat, and organized, I am giving 2 stars. Around this time of year i always procrastinate in buying my holiday outfits. i found the time on this past Saturday to go shopping for myself and not for everyone else on my list. I live close by to ALX Couture and i thought i would stop by because i had seen a dress I really liked on instagram. When i got there i asked one of the girls if they still had the dress that they had posted and she looked for it and said that they no longer had it in stock. So i started to look for other options, Luckily there was another girl there that offered to help me, she was super nice and made me feel welcome. Everytime I go here, I have had a bad experience... first off the employees are very unprofessional. Always either chatting, eating, texting, or gossiping. Second of all, they did not make my exchange easy. They assumed the dress was "worn" just because it didn't have a tag, when in the FIRST PLACE THEY SOLD IT TO ME WITHOUT THE TAG. They even had to look the price up. The girl didn't bother to check if it had the little hole where they put the tag before telling me if I had worn it I could not exchange it. At this point all of the employees had to come around the register to see what was going on, instead of just one employee handling the situation. I had my receipt and after I gave it to her she told someone else to double check the date.... when it says it right there on the receipt.... then I was asked once AGAIN if it was used... when it clearly was in perfect condition. I didn't even bother to look around because of how bad my experience was. I left very uncomfortable and dreading to go back again just to use the store credit.
