She said that there simply wouldn't be enough time, as the artists & stylists were also assisting her mother, aunts, grandmothers, etc. Stephanie however gave me a great piece of advice "You will only be a MOG (Mother of the Groom) once, so you won't regret it if you hire someone to look your best!" I began searching Yelp for the St Helena area, and after reading the positive reviews of Victoria Wallet, I sent her an email. She responded immediately and suggested that I set up an appointment for a trial session. Unfortunately, I simply did not have the time to do this as I was leaving to attend my nephews wedding in Tuscany, and then hosting relatives from all over the world coming for my son's wedding. We emailed back & forth about the price, date & time of the wedding, location of my hotel etc. I also emailed her photos of myself. We then set up a date & time for us to chat on the phone. She asked what hairstyle I wanted, and I said, " I want an up do chignon that is classy, but I have baby fine hair." Victoria told me to go on Amazon and purchase "ponytail hair extensions". I was so pleased because the hair extensions were the same color as my hair! The day of the event, I was nervous in my hotel room. But Victoria was on time and quickly put me at ease. She assessed the lighting in my hotel room, laid her tools out on the bed and table and set to work! Victoria has incredible talent and an awesome personality. The hair extensions looked so natural - see the photos I posted! Also, I've never had airbrushing before and I really like how it covered and smoothed out my skin without feeling like the makeup was caked on giving a flawless, natural-looking appearance! I also don't like when service providers upsells you on products without your knowledge and automatically add the product to your bill without asking you. She did one of those "I'm going to send you home with this" and then I got home and looked at my receipt and saw that the product she added was an additional $200!!! She was the first one to respond to my online requests and one of the few that took the time to call me to discuss my options. Since I was researching everything from far away, she was very helpful. I am also Indian, and was having an Indian wedding, so I needed someone who would be able to work with my skin tone/makeup needs. I take care of my skin but (or maybe, therefore) do not wear make up daily. I did not want to be overdone, and my husband wouldn't have liked it either. My mom NEVER wears makeup, so was very hesitant to even get it done for the wedding, but my sister and I convinced her it would be better for the photos (we were TOTALLY right). Kris made me look like myself, but also STUNNING. I did not feel overdone, and would often forget that I was wearing makeup, until I'd catch a glimpse in the mirror-- it was like I was lightly--but authentically-- photoshopped. Same thing for my mom and sister... we still, to this day, talk about how Kris walked an incredibly fine line, and made us feel SO good, both in terms of how we looked AND felt (she is so chill and calming! Her studio is great.) We still revel in the compliments we get from anyone who sees the photos! She matched my makeup to my skin, and my red/orange/gold wedding dress (traditional Indian colors) perfectly. Kris also recommended my hair styles who I was very happy with.
