I have curly hair and even though I'm 21 years old, I still occasionally cry after getting my hair cut because a lot of stylist don't know how to properly work with curly hair. She told me some tips and tricks on how to keep my hair healthy. She didn't push any products on me like a lot of hair salons do. I asked her if she had any suggestions and she was fully knowledgeable. I am from the D.C. area where just getting your hair cut is around $60. I vacation here on the weekends and am now a loyal customer to The Hair Cottage. I got my hair cut and deep conditioned all for $35! I highly reccomend :)

She has been amazing working with my moms curly hair and my straight as a board hair for years. She is gifted and has a knack for working with all types of hair cutting, styling and coloring! She always goes out of her way to accommodate me and everyone I bring into her shop! She recently opened her own shop which is in a new addition on her home in Luray. I have owned my own salon for 25 years and outside of my own staff I could count on one hand how many other people have cut my hair. I just wanted to be a client for once... I was blown away. The professionalism and care that Melissa took with me impressed me... And I'm not easy to impress :-) I would suggest the salon to anybody in the area traveling or not. Next time I'm back in town I'm going to treat myself for the works color highlights everything! So nice to see that there are salons like this. More often than not that is not the norm.
