Recently, she tried to use it--only to find out the balance was $0. There were no purchases made on it, which leads me to believe the card was never activated properly at the time of purchase. I've tried multiple times to contact the store directly, but the phone system just loops back to the main menu with no way to speak to an actual person. I also reached out to Sephora customer service, and instead of resolving the issue, I was told to go back to the store (which is not close to me) or dispute the charge with my bank because this is apparently a "common" issue. That response alone is unacceptable. If this is a known problem, why isn't there a better process in place to support customers? This was meant to be a thoughtful gift, and instead it turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience. Between the lack of accountability, poor customer service, and no real resolution, this has completely changed how I view Sephora. I hope this review helps others double-check their gift cards before leaving the store--and I sincerely hope Sephora improves how they handle situations like this.

Wow, Alyssa is absolutely amazing. I was part of my best friend's wedding a little over a week ago, and Alyssa came to the hotel the morning of and did all the girls makeup. This was my first time meeting her, and right away she was just so sweet and so personable. When it was my turn to go, she made sure to find out what exactly I did and didn't want. My biggest thing was my eyebrows. I am not one to normally fill my eyebrows in, and I was so nervous based on past experiences. Alyssa was so awesome about it, and she made sure to get the right shade and to not do too much. After I was done, I went to look in the mirror. OMG! I had never felt prettier in my life! I literally could not stop taking pictures of myself LOL. The best part about it was that it just looked so natural, and I did not feel like I had too much on AT ALL. But I could definitely tell the difference in very positive way. Not to mention, I loveeeeeed my eyebrows, I need to know her secret! Also, I loved how it lasted completely through the night! About three months before the event, I scheduled a trial for both myself and my daughter. The trial took three hours, and unfortunately, the hairstyles didn't come out as we envisioned--especially given we both have curly hair, which I felt she had limited experience with. I let Elisa know our concerns, and while she did offer another trial, it would've meant spending even more money (we had already paid $165), and I didn't feel confident that things would improve. I also became concerned about timing--Elisa mentioned we'd need to start at 5 a.m. to be ready by 9:30 a.m., which felt rushed and stressful for such an important day. I started looking for additional help and found someone to assist with hair, hoping Elisa could just focus on makeup. When I shared this with her, she chose to release me from the contract entirely, refusing to do any services, and declined to refund my deposit. She said she had turned down two weddings to hold our date, which I understand, but I was disappointed that she wasn't willing to work with me on a compromise--especially when I still wanted to use her for makeup. After that, she stopped responding altogether. In the end, I was out nearly $300 and left scrambling just two months before the event with no room left in our budget for more trials. What was supposed to reduce stress only added to it. This has honestly been the most stressful part of planning the quinceañera.

You then come across a small rectangular door hanger tucked in the window reading "Please don't disturb, session in progress." Raeleen, while congenial on the phone, mentions nothing of this situation that may occur. And the website uses the terms "us & "we", misleadingly so. The time for the treatment comes and goes as I wait outside. We start late. I am not given a receipt for the cash payment. After paying I am rushed to leave. Overbearingly so. While the treatment felt good, unfortunately with so many warning signs I just can't bring myself to return.

She also told me that I couldn't speak directly to my makeup artist or hairstylist, even though I much preferred communicating with them over Ashley. The problem is, I can't even get ahold of Ashley. If I call her, she sends me a text saying she's with a client, which I have screenshots of. Ashley said I need to tell her all of my makeup and hair concerns, and then she will communicate them to my artists. But why should I have to go through Ashley, who isn't doing my hair or makeup, to relay every little change or request to my makeup and hair artists? Have they never dealt with a bride before? Brides can change their minds every five minutes when it comes to their wedding day. And if that's how their business operates, then they should have someone handling communication who is professional, reliable, responsive, and knows how to communicate with clients in a timely manner. I get married in 54 days. I would have loved to personally speak with the owner or literally anyone at the company, but I never got the opportunity to speak to ANYONE because Ashley wouldn't allow it. Ashley texted me saying that everything would have to be communicated through email from that point forward, which I also have screenshots of. However, I never received an email from her. I texted her saying, "I have nothing in my email." I then tried calling her several times. She turned her phone off and subsequently emailed me a termination of my contract. I never want another bride to experience what Aly Rose Beauty put me through. Based on my experience, I did not feel that my concerns, wants, or wedding day were being prioritized. I have already booked with another company, and I have also heard similar negative experiences about Aly Rose Beauty from artists. Ladies, don't waste your time. On my wedding day, Kim was communicative and so attentive. She was open to the changes I wanted to make from the trial, and was so thorough. It's so clear to me that she strives to be inclusive and make all of her clients feel beautiful! Kim is not only an amazing hair & makeup artist, but she's the sweetest soul! I truly couldn't ask for anyone better to do my hair and makeup for such a special day.
