Charlene handled my hair and Launa did my makeup, and together they nailed it. Charlene guided me on adding curl but not too much volume. I was very happy with the result. Launa's makeup was equally awesome. She made me feel put together without my makeup being heavy or overdone. It held up beautifully through a long evening and I received a lot of compliments. Both ladies were professional, warm, attentive, and invested in making sure I loved the final result. They listened to what I wanted and delivered just that. I left feeling confident, beautiful, and ready for a gorgeous wedding. Her blending skills were incredible, and she really knew how to enhance features without making the makeup feel heavy or overdone. The final look was soft and natural, while still giving that glamorous polished finish perfect for a special event. She created such a beautiful balance between elegant and effortless. Everything stayed comfortable and secure throughout the event. The makeup lasted and did not smudge or smear off. She did a color remover, high-lift color, toner, and haircut with no bleach, and got me so close to what I wanted, honestly even better. She also fixed my layers, and I didn't realize how much they needed help until she did them. Her mom was there too and was so sweet. I was hoping for a positive experience at Salon MK with Giselle Q, but I left very disappointed…read more The photos clearly speak for themselves but here's what happened-- When I first reached out to Salon MK in June, I was connected with Giselle and specifically requested a light brown, neutral balayage. We booked a balayage ($280) and a haircut ($85). I sent photos of my hair and several reference photos. During the appointment, she explained that balayage is essentially highlights, which made me a bit nervous, as I understand it to be more of a blended, ombré-style look. Still, I trusted her professional judgment. Unfortunately, the final result looked nothing like my reference photos..... The highlights leaned much more yellow and brown rather than the neutral tones I had requested, and they were also uneven, with some highlight sections noticeably thicker than others. The haircut itself was uneven, and the top layers were longer than the bottom section. She offered to fix it, which I appreciated, but by that point I already felt uneasy. I decided to give her a second chance since she was willing to fix the uneven haircut, so I went back in October for an all-over color before an important work event. I was very clear and specific about what I wanted and provided several reference photos beforehand- a dark, natural brown with subtle purple/reddish undertones. I explicitly asked to avoid black, copper, blonde, vivid red or purple tones, and NO highlights. We discussed this thoroughly, and I even said that if there was any hesitation, I'd prefer to play it safe with a darker brown balayage instead. Giselle reassured me she could achieve the color....... Unfortunately, the result was again nothing close to what I requested. My hair turned out coppery brown/red and still showed highlights, which I had specifically asked to avoid. I felt embarrassed going to my event with it. When I reached out the next day with photos, I was told that the custom conditioner I purchased should temporarily fix the issue. This was frustrating, as a conditioner with very minimal pigmentation shouldn't be relied on to correct a $165 color service, especially after I left a 20+% tip out of kindness. Overall, the results did not align at all with what we discussed or the reference photos I provided. My concerns weren't resolved, and I ultimately had to attempt to fix my hair myself before the event. Everyone's experience is different, but I wanted to share mine so others can make the decision that feels right for them and choose a stylist they feel 1000% confident with.

As a newbie to the area, I didn't know but if you come here on a Saturday be prepared to park far away at City Hall and walk over. Not a big deal unless you're 8 months pregnant and hot! Not only does she go above and beyond to make sure every detail is lined out her organization skills are impeccable! BRIDES look no further! you will be in great hands. I really wanted my big day to be perfect and with a professional. Not another girls with a messy drugstore kit. I was amazed by all the glorious makeup and airbrush this talented lady lugged around! The airbrush does do wonders! she delivered exquisite makeup suitable for my young nieces, mother and friends. We all loved the our looks! Two weeks ago I was in a wedding in California and she was hired as the make up artist for the bridal party. Admittedly I am a novice with make up, I have no clue what I am doing. I went to a very stylish friends wedding this past week and of course I had to make an impression and look my best. Silly I know but it was important to me. I was hesitant to try a different blush and color palette than I normally go for. I was sooo glad I did. I started looking for additional help and found someone to assist with hair, hoping Elisa could just focus on makeup. When I shared this with her, she chose to release me from the contract entirely, refusing to do any services, and declined to refund my deposit. She said she had turned down two weddings to hold our date, which I understand, but I was disappointed that she wasn't willing to work with me on a compromise--especially when I still wanted to use her for makeup. After that, she stopped responding altogether. In the end, I was out nearly $300 and left scrambling just two months before the event with no room left in our budget for more trials. What was supposed to reduce stress only added to it. This has honestly been the most stressful part of planning the quinceañera.

Whether someone is sick the day of or not they should still be communicating with their staff for requests and needs. Secondly when you book they don't ask you the right questions because they expect everyone to do a preview but we don't all have the luxury to drive over an hour away for a preview. So it's your fault in the end When I did my preview everything was fine except the hairspray that gave me a headache 20 minutes into driving home. I requested unscented hair products more than once and even reconfirmed about 12 days before the wedding and was told that would be no issue. The day of the wedding, they sent a different girl for my hair. All her products were scented it was never instructed to her to get unscented even though I reconfirmed and was told it wouldnt be an issue . She put some mousse and a balm in my hair. Which did not hold. My make up girl was great but with hair... I brought this up to their attention after the wedding about my hair and how bad it frizzed up I even sent a pictures and they just tried saying well in the pictures that the hair girl took it looked fine . I don't appreciate a business ignoring accountability of their mistake and not passing down the information of having unscented products especially after confirming they would have no problem with unscented. They also did my wife's hair and they did not do it how she wanted it. All they did was make a small bun she could have easily done that for herself. they did ask to send a inspo which she did , she did not do a preview as all she wanted a braid. She checked her inbox and spam no questions were asked. For someone who doesn't get their hair done she would have no way of knowing they would be asking for hair extensions which they do not carry (I actually bought mine for the wedding for my hair to look fuller) also she wouldn't know what would be needed or what type of questions to ask it's really disappointing for a business to throw it all back on their clients instead of taking accountability.
