I searched for native landscape architect to design and implement a high end landscape at my home…read morein Historic McKinney and after a number of weeks settled upon Texas Nativescapes. I was immediately impressed by Paul's depth of knowledge and unique experience related to native design which set him apart from the rest of the field in North Texas. Fast forward 10 months and two extensive design implementations later (front and back yards) I couldn't be happier with the results. The results are two of the most uniquely designed & implemented yards in all of DFW. The backyard is completely native southwestern landscaping with rock, cactus and agaves imported from all over Texas, Arizona, and California. In contrast the front is classic southern with original elements picked up in New Orleans and Savannah. In the end the pictures, which I have posted here, speak for themselves. If you are looking for someone to develop and implement a totally unique high end design Paul is your best option in North Texas hands down. His design acumen puts him in a category all his own in North Texas and on par with the best native landscape architects from across the country including places such as Palm Springs, CA and Austin, TX.

I highly recommend Texas Nativescapes. We used Paul and his crew at Texas Nativescapes for two…read moreprojects in our back yard. First to repair a rock wall that had not been built correctly by a previous contractor and was starting to fall over. Paul and his crew completely disassembled the wall, put in a more solid base and rebuilt the wall the right way. Second, we had Texas Nativescapes fix a drainage and erosion issue that was causing damage to our back fence. Paul and his team removed about 240 sq ft of grass and dirt and replaced with base of decomposed granite and river rock. Both finished projects look great.

After all the rain we had earlier this Spring, we knew it was time to get some French Drains…read moreinstalled due to lots of standing water around our foundation. I contacted Water Drainage Innovations by sending a message through Yelp asking for a quote. We set up an appointment with Dennis and he came out to measure and see what was needed. He gave us a brief verbal overview in person and then sent a written proposal. After we collected all of our bids, we really liked the plan Dennis came up with. It was comprehensive and would solve our needs and the price was fair. We signed and returned the proposal. We then set up a date to start the work. It was a 2 day job to install French Drains that run along both sides of our property. They ran PVC pipe, tying in from the gutter downspouts and going under the sidewalk and out to the street. It involved cutting holes in the curb so the water could drain out. Dennis and his team did a great job throughout the entire project. They showed up when they said they would. They were professional and polite, respectful of our property, even cleaning up at the end of day one knowing they would be back the next day. We sent half the money owed at the end of day one via Zelle, and the balance after the job was complete. We are very happy with how the entire project went and highly recommend Dennis and Water Drainage Innovations. Now we just need everyone to wash their cars and windows and do a rain dance so we can watch the water drain into the street!

I will definitely use this company again and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting great work at a competitive price... On time and on budget!!

We hired Build Strong Construction & Remodeling for a $9,000 concrete patio extension and have paid…read more$8,000. The original concrete installation was defective and had to be demolished after company representatives acknowledged the workmanship issues. Although a second slab was poured, several agreed-upon repairs remain incomplete. Outstanding issues include two damaged fences, dead grass caused by construction equipment and materials, concrete splatter on our home from the first crew, and the expansion/control joint David agreed to install during the second pour that was never completed. For over a week, we made every effort to resolve this matter. Danielle told us the owner would contact us. When we called the next day, another Danielle said she would review our case and call us back. Julie then emailed that someone would contact us to reach an agreeable solution. Instead, David and Daniel called and stated there would be no refund, the remaining $1,000 balance was waived, and the project was considered complete. We repeatedly requested an itemized labor breakdown. The company eventually provided an "itemized" invoice listing: Concrete extension (labor/materials) $5,200; painting/sealing $1,000; sod installation/walkway $1,000; office expenses $500; fuel $350; crew meals $200; handling/equipment/cleanup $250; management $500. We dispute several of these charges, particularly the sod/walkway charge, as we only agreed to sod after losing confidence in the company's ability to complete the walkway due to defective workmanship. We also question charging overhead expenses after having to demolish and replace defective work. We have photographs, videos, emails, text messages, invoices, and payment records documenting the workmanship issues and our repeated attempts to resolve this matter. We request a fair partial refund, compensation for the remaining property damage, and a reasonable resolution.
