When I was 63, upon retiring after 40+ years in commercial construction, my first splurge was not on a grand vacation or a big house project, both activities my wife and I often discussed and planned, but was focused on eradicating the increasing pain in my lower back and hips, which sadly made those other dreams seem unattractive and increasingly unobtainable. So my first retirement "project" was a series of stem cell and PRP treatments over several months; although it did help, the relief obtained wasn't to the level that I still hoped was possible, and seemed necessary to regain my confidence in taking on high-level physical activities. So I next went for the total hip replacement, tackling the worst side first; thankfully it did take care of that hip's pain... but my back pain was still nagging me, and the hip surgery had so greatly reduced my lower-body strength that I'd not regained much enthusiasm for those other dreamed-for activities. What finally seemed to stem the tide, thankfully, came from almost off-handed recommendations from both providers: "you should find a good physical therapist". I was skeptical, having tried a few PT providers when my back first started really hurting 10+ years prior... but I'd only seen limited improvements. I decided to give PT one more shot, however, because I'd recently heard such good things about Take Charge Physical Therapy from a long-time friend who had suffered from debilitating back and neck pain for most of her adult life, finally obtaining relief from their practice. So I started with Take Charge in August 2022, and to my surprise, started to see improvement in both pain reduction and returning strength/function of my lower body, even within a few months, which of course motivated me to continue. Soon it became obvious that Katya's PT treatments would be the primary driver in my steady return to where I was enjoying my ranch work and travel again, regaining the confidence and capacity that I used to take for granted when I was younger. My wife I are now enjoying our travel dreams, and I'm doing ranch projects I've been hesitant to tackle for years. Looking back, I'm convinced that most of my progress to healing has been due to Katya's care at Take Charge, even to the point that I think I may have even obtained this level of success without the stem/PRP and the hip replacement... or at least I'm now convinced that I won't need to replace the other hip. And currently, although I'm at a point of self-sustaining care, I still look forward to Katya's treatments, not only because of her role in addressing those little surprises that show up in the aging process, but also because of her depth of knowledge in anything related to muscles, tendons, and bones (to be expected from a doctorate of physical therapy from CU Anschutz), and so many other facets of overall healthily living. For any of my friends who seriously want to reduced nagging muscle pain and to address their overall health, I can't recommend Katya enough.

About the only medication that seems to lower the pain enough to sleep well is 100 mg of Tramadol before bed. For the first time in years, I am able to sleep and walk around without pain medication. I simply cannot recommend her enough.

They DO NOT do caregiver training or basic skills verification, and multiple employees confirmed to me that Amada is hiring "warm bodies" they know aren't competent and placing them in people's homes. Amada caregivers relieved us of over $1800 in food, $3000 in damage to my custom-built cabinets, charged services for themselves (nail salons, beauty salons, etc.) on our credit card, added our card to a Venmo account and charged $500-worth of the caregiver's bills to our account. Cleaning supplies and household décor disappeared weekly. Caregivers may or may not show up. They arrived late, left early, or spent entire days on their phones while my loved one was ignored. Caregivers left her in bed alone all day rather than doing prescribed exercise or providing company. Her condition has markedly declined under Amada's care, and what has been lost can't be recovered. They've abandoned my loved one without notifying me. Several even brought small children with them and let them explore our home without supervision. Only 1 in 10 new hires show for orientation, and it doesn't occur to Amada to figure out why. Caregivers so frequently no-show when scheduled, you'd expect Amada to have backups and contingency plans but they don't. They take ZERO responsibility to get someone on site without fail, instead blaming everyone but themselves. We did enjoy 4 of our caregivers very much, and they were really great. Over the years, we averaged one new caregiver per week. Statistically, Amada is successful with placements 1 in 65 attempts. That's unconscionable. Amada also manages resident care services at McKenzie Place, where my loved one used to reside. My strong recommendation, based on years of experience with them, is to stay as far away from Amada as possible until they accept that THEY are responsible for their jobs getting done without excuses.

It's a bite but affordable for average home healthcare prices. When my father came home from the hospital, the VA left him stranded for almost 2 weeks. We called everywhere and this place took us as self pay clients and got a cna to our home within a day. Right away they accommodated our needs and all the staff were professional, experienced, well-trained, helpful and compassionate. They never complained or embarassed the patient due to changing diapers. The cnas always arrived on time and never had difficulty finding our home. They helped us with referrals on how to get help from within our community on supplies and things we needed. We never had a "no show". Whenever we called the office for whatever reason, or no matter what time of night, they were always available. You would have to leave a message, but your call was returned ASAP. The employees this company hires are people who want to help and want to be in this line of work. A lot of them are going back to school to move up, but they were so helpful. No home health care is going to be perfect, but this place was wonderful. We hated to discontinue care but the VA referred us to another company and would not let us stay with them. Needless to say, the new company referred to us are not near as good or professional as maxim was. Maybe its the way maxim runs their company, but the employees all seem so happy.
