Do not volunteer at Silver Key if you want to work with a group of mature, responsible providers. I…read morevolunteered via AARP placement after moving from Los Angeles to Colorado Springs & I really enjoyed answering phones, which used some of my skills as a counselor & therapist, now retired. (UC Santa Cruz CA & Dual Master's Program in clinical & transpersonal psychology, JFK University, Orinda CA). Somehow gossip got started about how I went into someone's office & threatened them & that I also asked to shadow another worker in the same dept. Absolutely untrue & so unprofessional! To be frank, I think they were threatened just because I have a lot of work experience & accolades for it, some of which was on my resume, which HR passed around for everyone to read, a total violation of the law. I was completely unaware of the level of contempt they had for me, with absolutely no justification whatsoever. I was then fired for reporting senior abuse of a 70 year old woman to Adult Protective Services (with my immediate supervisor's request and approval that I call in the report), when suddenly the next level supervisor appeared at my desk & insisted that all I'd needed to do was call the police, which was her idea of what to do. I said, "I beg to differ because . . ." She cut me off and had me fired. The staff at Silver Key is highly dysfunctional to put it politely. The shock and negative impact of that experience at Silver Key in the context of my many years of committed employment as a respected & effective teacher, counselor & therapist has been long-lasting and especially hard on me as an older senior (I am now 83) who trusted I was still doing good work in the world as an elder. Find other agencies where you can volunteer because the Silver Key staff is untrustworthy, unpredictable, small-minded, & unprofessional. They lie & gossip like high schoolers. (I'm also a lifetime credentialed State of California secondary teacher in reading, writing & literature, as well as French & Spanish. I've seen more integrity & maturity in 16-year-olds who were my students & in those who were my counseling clients than in the staff at Silver Key). It was an experience of utter betrayal by an agency that supposedly cares about and respects seniors - not lie about you behind your back when you're volunteering with the goal of making a difference in a small way, but instead fire you because though you did the right thing, their fragile ego was bigger than any commitment to doing the right thing. You would think that the Silver Key staff would extend the respect & care they claim to hold for all seniors to the volunteer seniors working there. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to volunteer to work with the Silver Key staff. Nepotistic, gossipy, dishonest, unprofessional, mean-spirited, totally dysfunctional, untrained staff. Find somewhere else to volunteer. ZERO STARS.

We have a weekly schedule for light housekeeping and general upkeep as well as welfare check-in. During the 4 months they have been employed there have been more than 7 times when they were late with no calls or just failed to show up at all. While my father is 85, he is in generally good physical condition and very mentally alert. We hired them to do the chores that he physically has a hard time doing and to let me know if there is anything I should be aware of if his condition changes since I live in Scottsdale and am only able to visit every 6 to 8 weeks. When speaking with the owners, they are not on the same page. David is completely oblivious to his companies business. The office staff either does not pass messages to them or they just choose to ignore them. It is a good thing that nothing bad has happened while they were scheduled and did not show or make any notice of their inability to properly schedule. I will be filing formal complaints with the regulatory agencies regarding these unfortunate circumstances.

He has been asked to remove the CSA logo from the companies website. I am concerned why a home health care agency and Mr. Heer would sign a statement changing my mother's will and secondary power of attorney. My mother was unable to make these decisions for herself. Her house is being sold and his employee is living in my mother's home even though she no longer cares for her. She has now been relocated to his assisted living facility. I do not believe this is an appropriate level of care considering my mother is bedridden requiring a much higher level of care. Multiple poor reviews. You can most definitely tell this is a up & coming newer company…read more I tried to go through the notion with them. But Lucerito "Lucy" Dominquez is by far the rudest person, to know she's a reflection of the company is stomach turning to say the least! I initially called in for my Saturday 1/10 & Sunday 1/11 shifts on Thursday 1/8 due to my vehicle catching fire. Although my replacement parts arrived early on Thursday 1/8/26 I wasn't going to have my vehicle repaired in time. To have Kelly from the office call me back Friday 1/9/26 and state they're extremely short staffed, can't find anyone to cover my shifts and need me to be there. She then expressed she'd see about getting me an Uber & call me back. No call back ever happened. So I called around 5:07pm Friday 1/9 after I got off my full time job to see what's going on. Since my Saturday shift started at 7am. I spoke to Lucy who stated she'd call me back once she finds the email explaining the details of the game plan for my shift. I never received a call back, text, email, etc. I go to bed & don't think anything about my shift since I initially called in and have the supporting documents. She calls & wakes me up this morning Saturday 1/10/26 at 6:13am with an attitude talking about to call the office & let her know when I'm ready to head to work, so they can order an Uber for me. I reminded her again, even though she's apart of scheduling that my shift starts at 7am and she said she'd call me back last night & never did. Then with an attitude she states I NEED to make my shift! I re-explain the whole situation to her & tell her I don't need her attitude first thing in the morning, especially since she just woke me up and my shift is suppose to start at 7am. Also to remember this is my part time job & they need me due to them being short staffed. So she can save her attitude especially since she just woke me up & its too early in the morning. She snaps back, I tell her how about this I quit, have nice day and hung up! Y'all wonder why you're so short staffed though???
