NONE of these issues were brought to our attention by this home inspector. And had he been either more knowledgeable about standard building practices (as any home inspector should) or communicative about those short-comings, we would have either tried to negotiate the price of this home with the Seller, or just walked away. That is the home inspector's job, and he failed at his job. I followed up with the home inspector about all the issues we recently discovered in the house and he said, "I am not an expert electrician. I am not an expert HVAC service person." That is absolutely ridiculous. What purpose does a home inspector serve if they are completely uninformed about basic and standard and safe building practices?? The electrician and HVAC people saw these basic, glaring discrepancies from a mile away, and they said that anyone with general knowledge should have seen these issues and brought them to our attention. AVOID THIS HOME INSPECTOR AT ALL COST!!!
