When I was in fraternity we used to come here with a whole group. Now I'm not a big fan of meat so this was not the place to begin with. They have very little options for others but they do have them. The spare ribs are decent according to others. However that's the only reason why you should come here. The ribs are good. Juicy and they have a unique dark sauce on the side which I can't quite describe. Definitely not a typical barbecue sauce at all. Overall the ribs are ok, but the real draw for our group to return multiple times is the baked potato with whipped honey butter, which is excellent. We actually had a really good experience here. Were wandering around Ghent later at night and didn't find many open restaurants and stumbled upon Amadeus. Three of us did get the all you can eat ribs and they were good and definitely kept coming. Are they going to be the best ribs you've ever had - no. But they were very good to me. Meh...I don't know why I thought all-you-can-eat ribs in Belgium sounded cool. And nope, it was not. Service was very efficient and the ambiance was fun, but the ribs were dry. It's a freaking ribs place!! How do they not get it right. So, I stuffed myself nonetheless since I wanted to make sure I get my money's worth - yes, sometimes I get silly like that. The 3.5 stars almost scared us away. The building had character from the outside and inside. The rest was subpar. The play is a flat out clip joint. The push the all you can eat spare ribs. 17.95E. We bit. They had a nice char flavor but a steak knife struggled to cut them. They were piled on-a cole slaw type salad. An unusual baked potato with some type of orange sauce. My wife liked the unique taste, I thought it a bit too weird. They put a bottle of wine on your table. The will measure your amount. 3E per small glass. It goes over ever so slightly you are harried the additional glass. Wine was fair. I was charged 2.25E fo tap water. First time ever in Europe that has happened. Avoid this place. Dining at Amadeus is an experience. I'm not a huge meat-eater personally, so I can never manage a second rib ~ still their ribs a volonte are definitely worth the money. The best part of the meal for me is the baked potato with delicious garlic butter sauce! The value is pretty good. All you can eat ribs for about €16. The ribs come with a baked potato and a simple salad. There's no menu except for a dessert menu written on the wall. I thought I read somewhere you could have different sauces but I didn't see anyone having that and was a bit afraid to ask. You see, the waiters are absolutely crazed, running around like mad and can be short and curt and our waitress didn't speak English (or French I think). It was a bit chaotic. The ambiance is great. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a beautiful, historic setting. However, everybody's focus is on the all you can eat ribs. The ribs are nicely grilled, but a little dry. The waiter will encourage you to have more. Even though the ribs are a little dry, what do you expect for all you can eat ribs with 18 euros. We also get the lamb chop which is nicely grilled. Sure, €16 all you can eat ribs sounds enticing, but you definitely get what you pay for. The meat quality for poor and fatty, the dry rub was salty but not flavourful, and the sides were awful. The baked potato arrived with an orangey tangy unidentifiable sauce that tasted terrible. I scooped it out and ate the potato plain. The salad was fine, albeit completely ordinary. The server didn't return after taking our order and bringing the food, so there were no opportunities for more drinks or desserts. We went up to the cashier to pay. I honestly did not enjoy eating here, even for the value and neither did my carnivore boyfriend. There are way better options in Ghent. read more

Great sparerips all you can eat in a very beautiful historic building, built in the 16th century in typical Ghent Renaissance style.

Ribs are very dry and not tender at all. You won't see any clean bones here you must really work your muscles to tear them apart. The taste is ok though. I won't go here again, neither recommend it, there are far better places to go. read more

Unfortunately i do not speak dutch, but I feel the need to share the WORST treatment I have ever recieved at a restaurant. Ever. We booked a table for 6 at 9.30 and still had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated. When we did, halfway through our dinner, we noticed that there was a group of mice running around under our table. When we tried talking to the waiters they just laughed about it and asked if we had taken any pictures. We called for the manager who took half an hour to show up. When he did, he arrogantly dismissed the issue and said it was none of his buisness!! He claimed that this was completly normal and that there was no way of compensating us or doing anything about the mice. He didn't care that we left our ok-ish meal (dry, old ribs) unfinished and that we were obviously upset about the mice. I hope there are alternative places in Ghent were customers are treated with some care and respect. Amadeus offered us a vile and pathetic service. Would NOT recommend anyone to spend a second of their time or a penny of their money in this place. read more
