It is a state park, about $10 for a day visit. It is about 45 minutes or so south of Tucson, but…read moremostly freeway until you get off on the road that leads to the entrance. There are plenty of trails for all skill levels, and some are partially paved, concrete walkways, etc. Plenty of signage and you can check all trails for skill level, elevation gain, etc. Plenty of lots so plenty of parking, and there are some nice covered picnic areas as well. Great views of the area, surrounding mountains, etc. We saw at least 8 deer all huddled by each other, birds, small animals, etc. Check out my pics for some of the highlights.

Since it is at a higher elevation, you have increased biodiversity of plants and animals and the temperature can be a good10-15 degree difference from the desert floor. I got to see some amazing birds there... and it's a known birding paradise!! There is a privately run lodge, B&B, and camping options plus a nearby lodge run by US Forest Service if you want a getaway. There hasn't been much rain and so the creek beds were dry... but I hear when there is water .. it's a whole other ecosystem with a mini waterfalls included. The picnic spaces are through out the park and several accessible by wheelchair. The park is excellently maintained with good signage (thanks to the world of many dedicated federal employees of Interior/ forest services who have cared in protecting and maintaining the land for us to enjoy). Looking forward to exploring this area even more!

Michael helped me find out which mile marker is at the checkpoint, heading out of Nogales towards Tucson on I-19, after an absent minded driver rear ended my car, while I was at the Border Patrol Checkpoint station. I had to file an accident report and Michael helped me. He was extremely kind and helpful and found the information for me. I thought it would be nice if his boss reads this, because he is the kind of border agent who gives agents a very good name. There are some surly people out there ... not very many and I know these people have their patience tested incessantly - I could never do that job myself and I am always glad we have tough guys and tough women who are willing to cope with what it means coping with - but it's always good to speak to the ones who are lovely people who simply know how to be friendly and human. Michael came from Las Vegas for the job - I don't know how to identify him other than saying that - so if anyone knows which Michael it was, please tell his boss I wrote this review or show it to his boss because Michael has a lovely attitude and a very nice manner and deserves his boss to know he does a great job of helping people.

When our family unexpectedly found ourselves needing a venue for a Celebration of Life with only a…read morefew days' notice, St. Ann's Community Hall in Tubac was an absolute blessing. After learning on Thursday evening that my husband's uncle would be laid to rest at a simple graveside service the following Monday, we were left scrambling to find a place where family and friends could gather afterward to celebrate his life. With generations of our family buried in the historic Tubac Cemetery and very few venue options available in the area, we reached out to St. Ann's Community Hall. Throughout the process, our plans changed multiple times as we tried to coordinate everything on such short notice. We said yes, then no, then yes again, and even changed course once more before finally confirming. Through it all, Marianne was incredibly patient, understanding, and accommodating. Her calm demeanor and professional background make her the perfect person to work with, regardless of the type of event you're planning. The hall was already set up with tables and chairs based on our estimate of 75 guests, and we were given early access to decorate and personalize the space. We were able to display family photos, set up centerpieces, create a dessert area, and make the room feel welcoming for friends and family gathering to remember JJ Gastelum. The facility itself exceeded our expectations. We had access to the bar area for beverages provided by Sonora Mia, another wonderful local business. The kitchen was spacious and included a large refrigerator and freezer, with a rolling door that allowed us to keep the service areas hidden from view during the event. The restrooms were clean and well maintained, and we were able to connect to both the sound system and display TVs without issue. Although we didn't need the bridal suite, Marianne took the time to show us the space, and it was obvious how thoughtfully it was designed. With beautiful lighting, large mirrors, a private bathroom, and plenty of room to prepare, it would be perfect for weddings, anniversaries, quinceañeras, and other special celebrations. The parking lot was another standout feature, offering ample parking along with accessible concrete handicap spaces that make wheelchair access much easier. Planning a Celebration of Life in less than a week is incredibly stressful. We had only a few days to coordinate everything while grieving the loss of a loved one. Thanks to Marianne, St. Ann's Community Hall, and the wonderful local vendors who helped us pull everything together, the day turned out beautifully. Our family is deeply grateful for the kindness, flexibility, and support we received. St. Ann's Community Hall provided far more than just a venue--they helped create a meaningful space where family and friends could gather, share stories, and celebrate the life of JJ Gastelum. We cannot thank Marianne and the St. Ann's Community Hall team enough.
