One of 4 Missile locations open to the public in the US. Buy your tickets on line for your tour. Tour takes you down into The actual launch area and missile storeage. Excellent tour with history and stories. Museum has old movies as well as modern displays. Self guided tour outside of equipment and stations. Amazing how much we as citizens did not know was happening during the Cold War.

Such a cool experience and definitely worth the tour price. I was pretty disappoint we didn't get to see the living quarter's / break area but the launch control room and looking at the missile from below was cool. Don't miss seeing it from above as well after the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we had a wonderful tour.

This place is amazing with all the information you get from the tour. It was worth coming here. Buy your tickets online. If you are military/veteran or Pima county resident you will need to show your card/drivers license bc they will ask for it. It's about a 45 min drive from Tucson.

Great tour with lots of information on the history and life of the folks at the missile silo. It's a great place to learn about the period in history when the missile silos were active. The staff is great and very knowledgeable!

We took a tour of the Titan II Missile. We were able to go inside the missile chamber. The tour guide taught us about the history and did a live demo of how the control system works to launch the missile. The chamber has a lot of stairs going down. I think it is an experience to do in Arizona.

Be sure to book the middle tour in advance as it really sells out. It is informative and you do get a sense of history and working conditions in the silo. We were lucky and on our tour included a gentleman who actually worked one of the sites! Steve was a good tour guide and answered any questions asked!

Collins Discone antenna. If you're a ham, general class or above, just bring your radio, battery, and sign in at the visitor center.

I've taken the tour twice and would do it again. I've used the discone antenna a few times.

This experience was better than I thought it would be. Our tour guide, a young woman who has been working at the site for about 3 1/2 months, was well spoken, easy to understand, answered questions, and made the tour very interesting. While the facts of why this facility exists is quite sobering, there is a nice balance of respect and information sharing. The gift shop has a great selection of educational and other items related to the complex and the Cold War in general. Highly recommended. The 55 stairs are not bad.

I really enjoyed this museum and tour. Going down into an old missile silo and control center is both fascinating and spooky. It's amazing how well movies during the cold war depicted these silos. Turn keys, push buttons and away go the nukes. It's all thirty feet underground and clearances and security checks were incredible. Men and women actually lived down in these silos hoping and praying orders never came. I learned a great deal about the Titan missile system and its strategic applications. If you want to step back into the cold war and get a sense how deadly serious it was, don't miss this museum. I really enjoyed it.

This is one of the coolest museums I have ever been to! They have a decommissioned Titan II missile, control center, and all of the associated machinery perfectly preserved, and you can get an up close and personal view. They give tours, and the tour guides are knowledgeable. Just watch out for danger noodles! I didn't see any but apparently they do occasionally get in.

This was one of the most interesting places we've visited and it's a tour I would highly recommend. We were in town in Tucson for a long weekend and drove down to visit as we're big history buffs. It was so interesting to see an intact piece of Cold War history and to learn how these missile systems were actually set up. It was also very interesting to learn how it was to actually work in one of these silos. This was an extremely informative tour and we absolutely loved it. I highly recommend coming here if you're in the Tucson area!

This is an amazing museum of a preserved Titan II middle and all the related launch equipment. It's worth the time to visit it! As a heads up - There are 55 steps in the tour! As part of the tour you start with a movie, then go down into the control room. From there you walk through a tunnel to the missile silo, with a Total II middle in it. Staff follows a script and it's accurate. So cool! It gets a BIG recommend from me!

This place blew my mind! Make sure you arrive a few minutes early to be on time for your tour because there is a briefing you must do. The lobby has a cute little gift shop and then it has historical artifacts and some history. Learning how they used to handle security just to enter was wild. Make sure you can walk up and down 55 stairs to go down to see the missile. We took our kiddos / niece with us (9, and two 11 year olds) who enjoyed it as well and in fact, my niece got to be the "commander" which was really fun for her. The guide was very knowledgeable and nice, and it's truly kind of nerve racking knowing how powerful this place is/was. Seeing the missile is something you have to experience in person - it's massive and just crazy to know the damage it could have done. Learning the history of this was really cool and I can't believe it's right next to Tucson. After seeing the underground tour, you can also head up to see the missile from the top, and see all the accessories that would've supported it like fuel tanks, etc. I learned a lot and I definitely would say this is worth checking out at least once.

Very knowledgeable guide. There is far more here to see than you think. Fascinating glimpse into the cold war mindset.

Ask the Community - Titan Missile Museum

Are there steps on this tour? Our friend is recovering from stroke and steps would be bothersome for him. A few ok. Many...not good.

Yes, hundreds of steps, I'd guess. Not handicapped accesdible at all. Really fascinating, but there are a lot of steps!

My kids are 3, 6, and 8. Would they be bored by the tour?

Tour involves a lot of listening, walking and standing with others in close quarters - including multiple flights of stairs. Of course it depends on the kid but 3 seems too young to me, while an interested 6 year old may have the necessary patience.… Read more

We are thinking of stopping here during a road trip from CA to TX. About how long does it take to visit this museum? Is it a half-day event, or more like 1-2 hours?

It takes about 2 hours. Well worth it.

A must do if you're visiting the area!…read more $24 for a basic tour and you will go inside with a tour guide! Our guide Everett was hilarious and informative. Didn't see wildlife like bats but saw their presence in the black goop on the walls. Apparently, people used to cut off a piece of the rock formation as a souvenir. Anyways, very interesting experience would rec! Plus u can get prickly pear ice cream or lemonade or both at the concession stand!

I am claustrophobic and let Adam know and he was very understanding and encouraging. He definitely helped me feel at ease and I was able to finish the entire tour. Adam is very passionate about caving and it really shows. We've been in multiple caves and on tours so I wasn't sure if this would be anything special. It absolutely was and I was pleasantly surprised. There were a few activities we got to do that I haven't ever experienced before like playing "drums" on stalactites and "painting" on the wall with a flashlight. We learned a lot about the history of the cave and heard some interesting and fun stories. We also got to explore a little bit on our own here and there off to the sides of the path which my husband really enjoyed. The ladder part is at the end and it was a lot of fun and almost like an obstacle course. We had a great time here and I'm really glad we came!
