Then when I did get a number for a stylist I was told to "just text her," but she didn't contact me for a few days... This is an appointments-only salon. Very rarely do they accept walk-ins. I did receive an apologetic message that she was available on this date at 10AM. We followed up with a few more texts about the haircut I was seeking. She also sent a reminder text that morning and remembered my name when I walked in. I noticed this place was a bit more upscale and more up my alley compared to some of the other places in Hobbs. My shampoo, cut, and style was $45 - cash only! Aside from her addiction to TikTok, I really liked Jae. Her attention to detail and constant checking in with me about my hair made me realize she's great at her craft - even with my thick locks! Ample free parking in a shared plaza lot.

It was by far the cleanest nail salon I have been to in Hobbs, NM. A lady next to me told us that they recently got new chairs at the foot spa area, I presumed. That being said, while my manicurist (a guy) did a decent job, I was a bit disappointed with some of the shaping after a closer look. Plus, I should have gotten two coats of color instead of just one, but lesson learned. My price was $50. It's also not the most relaxing environment with all of the employees chattering so much, but I have been in worse places. At least they were friendly. The manager, maybe owner, complimented me on my shapely physique. "You looked 18 from behind." Ah ha! It was a bit flirtatious for my liking, but I appreciate the honesty as I have been working on toning my body. I'll be back in a couple of weeks.

Wore glasses. Not the smoothest skin for a face. He asked me who did my nails last and I rather liked her. In fact, I will request her next time. She usually sits at the front and also wears glasses. Has short hair and is a bit older than the other ladies who work here. He wasn't rude, but he acted like he could make my nails "more natural." Well, he sure grinded them down more than anyone else in my life has. His technique for dipping was interesting. Actually I hated it. They looked fine, but bubbles started appearing right away and there were some other details that should have been caught for freakin' $60. Yeah, $10 higher than everyone else who has charged me here... or is their pricing going up? If so, see ya never again.

Yesterday (4/4/2023) I popped into Salon You as a walk-in…read more The wind was gusting up to 60 miles per hour or some absurd crap like that, so an employee helped me with a side door that was locked. Unfortunately, no one was available to cut my hair at that time, so I made an appointment with Mari. That appointment was the following day, today (4/5/2023). Mari, who has been at this location for 2 years, did exactly what I wanted. A medium-length cut with layers just below my jaw. She also obliged when I asked her to thin my hair out. I was secretly happy that she offered to do a dry cut because I was on a time crunch, and she actually started a little late with my appointment. Usually I would knock off a star, but she was super gentle and extremely friendly. Because I have longer thicker hair I usually get stuck with a higher bill than everybody else. Lol. My cut was $45. It's really cute inside. A bit bright at around 1:15 with the sun shining through the large windows. There's free, ample parking. I'll probably be sticking to this place.
