On April 11, 2025, I walked in hoping for a consultation that would lead to an appointment. A nice stylist who met me at the counter quickly referred me over to Kynsie who came in just shortly after I did. So we made an appointment for 10 am on April 15. I am loving my highlights--Kynsie did great! I had the full service actually... Shampoo. Condition. Little head massage. Cut. Blowout. Style. Pureology and Moroccanoil were the primary products she used. I asked for subtle highlights, but I will definitely have Kynsie increase the intensity next time.

Yesterday (4/4/2023) I popped into Salon You as a walk-in…read more The wind was gusting up to 60 miles per hour or some absurd crap like that, so an employee helped me with a side door that was locked. Unfortunately, no one was available to cut my hair at that time, so I made an appointment with Mari. That appointment was the following day, today (4/5/2023). Mari, who has been at this location for 2 years, did exactly what I wanted. A medium-length cut with layers just below my jaw. She also obliged when I asked her to thin my hair out. I was secretly happy that she offered to do a dry cut because I was on a time crunch, and she actually started a little late with my appointment. Usually I would knock off a star, but she was super gentle and extremely friendly. Because I have longer thicker hair I usually get stuck with a higher bill than everybody else. Lol. My cut was $45. It's really cute inside. A bit bright at around 1:15 with the sun shining through the large windows. There's free, ample parking. I'll probably be sticking to this place.

One catch- it was in Hobbs, and I live in Lubbock. It was worth the drive. Dustin knows exactly what I need, every time I go for color, cut, or both. He's the only stylist who has gotten the exact color I hoped for. (I think he has a little bit of hair styling magic up his sleeves.)
