The staff is extremely efficient, helpful and nice. The flower spray was absolutely gorgeous. They added a sash and changed the color of the roses with no problem. Do the right thing upfront! ... An arrangement was sent on my birthday and the delivery driver called me and I let him know I was out of town. He told me that was my problem, so I called the store and spoke to this woman. Let her know I was out of town and situation. We agreed I would call when i was back and ready to accept the arrangement. While I wasn't home they proceeded to deliver the flowers to my neighbors, which i already stated wasn't an option for me. I received the flowers even though I was frustrated, once I was home in the light, i became immediately disappointed. These flowers are dying and clearly not cared for. I called back and spoke to the same woman who never apologized but offered to re-do the arrangement. This was the second opportunity, no need for a third disappointment. I ordered a dozen red roses from 800flowers.com for my wife for our anniversary. They showed up on the porch in the vase without any wrap...just the flowers sitting on the porch. This was interesting. All roses were totally open and I knew they would not last. I was right...less than 1 week later - DEAD. My wife even changed the water twice. Contacted 800flowers and they went ahead and ordered a new bouquet. Supposed to be delivered the next day. Instead someone from Amanda's called my wife and asked what happened to the flowers from 8 days ago that were supposed to be delivered?? Questioning her and then said she would get back to her but never did and NO flowers. She shouldn't even be involved! They were a present for her! Anyway the woman was rude and 3 days after the 2nd bouquet finally arrived. Same condition as the roses were already full bloom. Almost dead again. My experience in the past going to a store, the flowers should be budding and not really open yet. 800flowers needs to remove this florist as I suspect they deliver crap flowers to people going through 800flowers via Amanda's. Another disappointment and embarrassing experience with poor customer service and the delivery. To start with, the delivery was way too late and didn't reach on the occasion and secondly I was so shocked to see the photos, I am sorry to say my backyard flowers are better than what you deliver I am sure you could have done much better given the history of messing up with last year experience As per our phone conversation (Australia) I agreed for little change but what's been deliver was no where near as per the arrangements on website, that's called ripping of the clients. This review is solely for the flower arrangement itself. Today is my graduation. I am graduating my graduate school program from Johns Hopkins!! (Yay! So I am in a pretty good mood!) I went upstairs to my kitchen to find an arrangement of beautiful flowers. I have no idea how they got there... But, I knew instantly that they were from my husband. My husband is currently deployed in Afghanistan so I was not expecting flowers today. But when I saw the flowers my heart melted and I felt so loved! The flowers are beautiful and fresh. They consist of full bloom roses. It's hard to tell from my picture, but this arrangement is huge and heavy. The diameter of the vase is a good 7 inches. There are a ton of flowers in the vase and I am absolutely in love with the flowers. They remind me of my husband's love and devotion. I am so blessed. read more

Amanda's Flowers. the worst experience I've ever had with any florist or any other business for that matter! I ordered flowers for my Mother's 90 th Birthday to be delivered on December 15th. I specifically asked for a birthday arrangement in pastel colors and NOT a Christmas arrangement (we don't even celebrate Christmas). my mother received a Christmas arrangement of white, red, and green flowers with the a card reading "Merry Christmas Mother" instead of the birthday greeting I had requested. I immed called the florist thinking they had sent the wrong flowers but that wasn't the case. They simply said they were "sorry we didn't like the arrangement" and claimed they knew nothing about the card. I called again the next day and asked to speak with the owner and was told their computer system was down and they couldn't check my order info. i called a 3rd time and spoke to woman who had originally taken my order who checked the order and apologized for the mistakes and offered to resend flowers. my mother never received any replacement. so I called a 4th time today.The woman I spoke with was rude, ddefinitely did not want to even be talking to me, and sent the wrong flowers. But rather than making the issue right - she was nasty and yelled at me. She REFUSED to issue a refund and hung up on me. The upgraded "deluxe" Mother's Day flower arrangement from Amanda's was disappointing and an embarrassment. The greenery was dry or wilting, the smaller flowers were starting to droop and shrivel up, and the roses were browning on the edges. We had the bouquet delivered on Mother's Day Eve so it could be enjoyed all day on Mother's Day, but the one (just one!) lily lost all but one petal by morning. All watering instructions had been followed precisely, but the entire arrangement ended up in the garbage before dinner. NEVER again! The order was placed online through Teleflora. A complaint has been submitted to them and we've asked for a refund. IF we use Teleflora again, we will be sure to specify that they NOT USE Amanda's again; otherwise, just cancel the order. The ONLY good thing I can say is that the young men delivering the arrangement were polite. read more

I came home on a Friday afternoon with a "missed delivery" sticker on my door. Flowers from my boyfriend. So, I called the number there and left a message, since they closed at 5:30pm. Next morning, I called and arranged for a delivery before 11am, as I had to be somewhere. They were very helpful and professional. 5min later, after I googled that they are 15min, called back to say I'll pick up..I get a text from my boyfriend that he got a notification that I asked to pick the flowers up..lol.. He wasn't happy and ask that they be delivered..phewww Called them again, apologized for being a indecisive pain so early in the morning.. they were still in good spirit..rearrange my delivery. Long story short..when those flowers came, I cried!!! They were full, fresh, gorgeous beyond anything. I was so touched and in awe. Their service is absolutely beautiful!! Having sent at least 5 arrangements throughout the US yesterday with 5 different florists, this was THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER that I have had with any florist over the years. They were rude, did not want to take responsibility for their ineptness, sent the wrong flowers. But wait - there is more, rather than making the issue right - they YELLED at us, hung up the phone on us and REFUSED to issue a refund. I highly recommend everyone NOT to order from them and they will be reported to other institutions and review sites. Very very unprofessional and downright rude. read more

Ordered through 1800 flowers. Paid extra for delivery date as it is for a wedding anniversary. On the date my wife was home all day apparently they don't ring doorbells because she was home at the time on the card that said they came by. When I called they offered to deliver the next day. I asked if I could come and pick them up in 10 min. The woman told me they closed in 5 minutes! (Which would make their closing time 4:54pm)She told me she could leave them outside for me. I got my wedding flowers from Amanda's several years back and I must say it was not the greatest experience. The owner was not very friendly or easy to work with. She had a bit of an attitude problem and seemed annoyed whenever we would ask questions (and we did have a lot being that this was our wedding!) If it wasn't for her attitude, I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars since the flowers ended up looking nice. However, if you want good customer service and someone who is willing to work with you, you're better off going somewhere else. read more

Ordered a large arrangement and received a medium. I called to inquire about the discrepancy and was told that my order showed as a medium, but when she opened the actual order it showed up as a large. She apologized and offered to replace the medium with a large. One hour later (thank you) I received what was supposed to be a "large" arrangement. It looked so pitiful and sparse that I wished I had kept the medium. I felt embarrassed to gift it to the person it was intended for, and even apologized for the way it looked. I've ordered flowers for my family from Amanda's and also received flowers from them. I used them last year for a party that I needed at least a dozen mason jar bouquets. AMAZING! The other arrangements I ordered were for delivery-Mother's Day, one for my mom and another for my sister. I can't tell you how pleased I was with them. I gave them my budget and they created something above what I was expecting. The lilies were fresh, hydrangeas full of color, the roses hadn't completely opened up yet and I knew they'd have a lot of life left in them. My family LOVED them. A colleague had surgery so I arranged for flowers to be sent to her home. They took a credit card and message over the phone and emailed me a receipt. Unfortunately the recipient was held in the hospital another two days, so Amanda's Arrangements couldn't deliver. They made a NEW arrangement and delivered it a few days later, nice and fresh. Any other 1-800-delivery service would have just left a box by the door and not bothered checking if anyone was home. I ordered through 1800-flowers and was suppose to be delivered by Amanda's Arrangement this past Saturday for my wife and my 1st anniversary. We were not at home at time of delivery but we have video evidence that the delivery driver brought the flowers and then took them back. They were not left and they marked that the flowers were delivered. They were not delivered on Sunday nor Monday. I called and talked to the manager and she was the rudest. She stated that the computer was messed up but my flowers were the only ones left and everyone else's was corrected which seems like a way to cover her business. There was no intention to deliver the flowers but she was okay with taking my money. I will never do business through this business nor recommend going to this place. If I was able to give a zero, then I would have. I was trying to do something special for my wife on top of everything else and they ruined that for me. read more

Oh my.. I wish I could give zero stars! The people working there have absolutely no respect for customers that are spending money. I placed an order online, received and order confirmation email and I had to call them to tell them to call the recipient when they deliver the flowers because their doorbell doesn't work.. The lady says she might not even have gotten the order - why did I get a confirmation email if they wouldn't receive the order? And then she says that she'll put the note IF they receive the order. If they receive the order???? I'm spending money on flowers that possibly might not have even been delivered by the promised date! A few minutes later someone else called me saying that the address doesn't exist.. As if I don't know where I'm sending the flowers and she was just as rude to me as the first lady. I arranged for flowers to be sent on a Friday to my friend, who happens to actually live in Burtonsville, which is the physical location of Amanda Arrangements (AA). On the following Wednesday, it occurred to me that it was odd to have not heard from from my friend to whom I sent the flowers. When I contacted AA today (5 days later), to confirm the arrangement had been sent, I was told that AA had been trying to deliver the flowers every day since Friday, but could not reach my friend until today. Aside from finding that weird, I was curious about a several points related to this circumstance. Why did I have to initiate communication with AA before I was made aware of this logistic challenge? Why was I not notified? Perhaps I could have reached out to my friend to either find a window of time to make the delivery, or to notify her that a delivery was attempting to be made. Alas, the expensive lesson I learned was, always heed the online reviews before moving forward with spending your hard-earned money. Heed my warning about AA. DON'T DO IT! read more

I have been Using AA / Country Nursery since 1986, and in the countless times I've used them, I have always been happy with the products, advice , and reasonable delivery {even during Busy times}. if theres been an issue, they were promt in making the situation right. The woman we worked with provided excellent guidance as to available arrangements, and assured us they had experience with the Church. The flowers were beautiful, and arrived in plenty of time. These folks were the outsource for Justflowers.com (which is a terrible company in itself). The flowers arrived late, despite the extra charge for early delivery. Several blooms and some greens were smashed or broken, the vase was filled with greens to make the flowers look more substantial, and the delivery driver has no reply when I asked what took so long. In addition, a mylar balloon and a long-stem red rose were missing from the order that was paid in full by my boyfriend who lives overseas (so cost more due to currency differences). This all would be frustrating enough, but Justflowers.com has told me that the florist can't be reached and has no explanation for the delay in delivery. Looks like no one will do anything. read more

I have used Amanda's in the past without problems. But it is not what it used to be anymore. Got mother's day flowers from this place as usual, and it looks nothing like I saw in the pictures. When I complained about the small size, they just said that it's a small arrangement. The description on the website is not a small arrangement, 12X14" and I got a deluxe upgrade on top of that. It is barely 10x12" and not even fresh flowers. The whole time the staffs had attitude issues and ignored you. Then, they threw down a bunch of green leaf stems and told me to buff up the flowers with them. It was obvious the place ran out of flowers on mother's day, they never carried that much inventory, but deceptively making the sale when you cannot provide the goods is unacceptable to me. Don't waste you money on this place, flowers are expensive as it is even at honest prices, and this place will gouge you like there's no tomorrow. Paid $50, and what I got looks worse than safeway flowers. read more

Several experiences using Amanda's over the years and never really a great one. Whatever size arrangement you order, you get the next size down. Clearly they cost cut on the flowers to increase their profit. Likely banking on that the sender will never see them. Arrangements not very professional looking or 'artful' at all. Although the location is a little out of the way, it is completely worth it. We were so lucky to have found Amanda for our wedding arrangements completely by chance! At the first meeting I brought in tons of pictures of my dress, our location, and color scheme. Amanda instantly GOT my vision! She pulled together samples for us and explained everything so vividly. The best part... she is so experienced and pays enormous attention to detail. She thought of everything I never even considered! Delivery/setup was simple... she pulled everything off despite my other vendors being delayed. The price doesn't even compare to other florists in the area.... it really was a STEAL!
