It took me a few months and thousands of dollars to try to get them to set up her medications correctly . They never fulfilled her oxygen requirement and i spent thousands again, trying to help them and they were never able to do it. The worst part is that there was no transparency and in fact the upper management hid very dangerous things from me. My hope was to work as a team but that cannot be done at Morningstar. I won't go into detail of all the times my mom was endangered there. I do wish more people in Albuquerque used Yelp so I wouldn't have gone there. I also wish the department of health had a way for children to be able to make educated decisions when choosing an Assisted Living Facility. The department of health was notified of major incidences and still have not responded in 7 months

Residents have daily activities they can choose from such as a morning coffee chat or Boggle in the afternoon along with yoga once a week. Kimberly, the Community Relations Director, is on top of any issues that may come up and treats the residents and family as if they are a part of her own family. It is a true community and family.

The staff are warm and friendly, and extremely responsive to their residents, making sure that they are comfortable and safe. The rooms are cleaned, laundry is done on a weekly basis, beds are changed routinely, and the chef prepared meals are wonderfully delicious. There are daily activities, a wellness center for mild exercise, and a beauty shop and open patios where clients and family may enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Kimberly, the community relations director, goes out of her way to make sure that the transition from independent living is as smooth as possible, assisting both the client and the family. There is close communication between the staff and family members. This little jewel of a facility is located adjacent to the balloon fiesta park, nestled within established landscaping. It's a calm, inviting atmosphere for anyone. I highly recommend this facility for anyone.

Unbeknownst to you, unless your loved one is knowledgeable, coherent, checks, & is vocal, your loved one may be slowly killed because they cut life sustaining meds cold turkey, or the dose such as your Prednisone from 32 mg to 15 mg, knowing you will go into a severe Adrenal Crisis if tapered or miss a dose. Although given instructions by the hospital not to taper, they tapered me drastically, the Fri & Saturday stopped giving me prednisone & other meds all together. They gave me only night meds in the morning and night, which cause sleepiness and drowsiness.

Farther away than I would like but her happiness with her living situation is very important at this stage of her life. I did not want her to feel 'warehoused.' I chose Watermark because of the friendliness of the staff, residents, and the volume of activities offered. The overall feel is modern and efficient. The apartments are very nice and large enough to feel like a true apartment. Mom feels very independent while also safe and attended. Mom is picky about food and about friends. She has liked both so far while adjusting to her new living situation. She is busy! And seems to be really thriving. Brooke K. was invaluable in helping me place mom in this facility. Just about everything promised has been delivered. No place is perfect and all senior care facilities have staffing issues. That is just the nature of the beast, so to speak. Kelly and Amanda keep the residents occupied and Karen at the front desk knows all and sees all. Nurse Lisa keeps everyone healthy and Seth makes sure things run smoothly. My mother is very well taken care of and I have zero worries about her care or needs at Avista. I've often visited on varying days of the week and at varying times and the level of care is always very good. They have many core staff members that have been there for the entire time (and longer) that my mother has been in their care. The current Executive Director has been in her current position longer than any other ED at this facility and has all of the staff and residents concerns at heart. The consistency, the cleanliness, the care, the food are all at the highest benchmarks in the industry. They also engage the residents in many activities from group exercises to arts and crafts to singalongs. I could not recommend Avista more highly and know that anyone's loved one would be very well cared for at this facility.

He doesn't care about the law or anything but himself. He uses an alias for his identity there and may use the first name of Michael. I can't get the concierge desk to acknowledge his residence. This is aggravated assault and a damage to my health and an invasion of my privacy. Wherever I go I am followed by his satellite cell phone presence.
