But no, this cafe really are selling some fine calorific freakshakes! It's a basic cafe inside, with a small fish tank (always nice to see fishies), there are even some sofas to sit on if you really want to get comfortable. I went on a Saturday lunch time, and even though there's quite a lot of seating available, the whole place was full. I had to make my order and sit outside for 10 minutes, luckily I sofa became available so I quickly nabbed my spot inside the warm cafe opposite the fish tank. We ordered 3 freakshakes, Invision Our Vanilla, Peanut Butter Passion & Raspberry Roulette, all of which were really, really good. They tasted amazing and they looked so freaky too. We did have these as a dessert and had ourselves some savoury paninis first, which were very tasty too, especially the BBQ Pulled Pork Panini. I'd totally recommend going to this place, even if it's just for a panini/sandwich and a coffee, but if you make the effort to go here you've really gotta have a freakyshake. We both went for the beetroot and pumpkin seed cake and a well-deserved cup of coffee, like mother like daughter. The coffee was delightful, good fruity proper coffee. Just what we needed after our shopping ordeal. The beetroot cake was utterly divine, lightly spiced and filled with scrummy orange cream cheese, with little crunchy pumpkin seed surprises all the way through. Not to be distracted by the name they mostly sell fruit and vegetables. One of the more traditional places these guys sell what's in stock at the right time of year. This may seem standard but in the age of the supermarket where, for instance, there are no seasons it feels good to be eating naturally. I've always been happy with the fruit here - not too ripe and squishy, never unripe. With many changing deals and a pleasant and chatty handful of staff, this makes a refreshing alternative to the much larger megaliths down the road.
