I wouldn't want to work anywhere else. Such great staff and residents! And a beautiful, clean facility to top it off!

The ladies at the front desk when I first came in, were quick to give me instructions on how to sign in and where to go to find her room. One lady even walked with me to the elevator and to the room to be sure that I found it. An employee came in to help her use the restroom while I was there and he seemed nice as well. I walked with her down to dinner and there was a woman working in the eating area who also seemed very friendly and cheerful. It seems like the employees really have a love and passion for what they do here. My grandmother's room also seems very cozy and homey. Only reason I left a star off is because my grandpa has said that some of the cleaning staff (He believes) have stolen some of my grandmother's belongings, such as her phone charger and other personal items. For the price that residents and their families pay for care here, it's really sad that this slips through the cracks and doesn't get corrected.... My grandfather and mother have mentioned this to the staff and were told the cleaning staff is a separate organization from them and they can't do anything. Seems like a cop out answer to me because someone is paying this company and there are other companies in town, that may not steal they could use.... So, they could at least notify this company that this is happening..... That being said, I mostly feel very confident that she's being well cared for and is safe here and that it's a wonderful facility. I saw some of the other residents there and they seemed happy.

I'm on the fence with many things about this facility as a whole. Basic knowledge and common…read moreprocedures seem to not be explained to everyone. I feel it is poor training but I think we can all understand how boring training can be and how we don't always remember key parts. That being said, as with every place from food to hotels to even places such as this, you have good and bad. The employees at the bottom are the ones who make it or break it. The top leadership seems to be clueless about HIPPA regulated things. It is chaos trying to get anyone to answer a question without being transferred 3 or more times. With Covid-19 I know different regulations are in order but when I go to see my granny through the glass I have been given a myriad of excuses and new rules depending on the staff. Nothing is consistent and with dementia care people consistency is very important! I'm not sure that is the case but since we can't go inside I can't honestly say. All I have to initiate my comment is my personal interaction which is hit or miss. As I mentioned earlier, the people at the bottom usually make or break a facility! This is abundantly true and I have to say there are some of the best employees that work here. There are those true diamonds on the rough that you pray a facility keeps because they are amazing! Olivia constantly goes above and beyond when I call to talk to my grandmother. This was even before the newly updated phone system they just got. Nisa was so caring one day to assist my grandmother with a phone so while I was seeing her through the glass we could actually talk to each other. Nisa thank you for blessing both of us by doing that! Wayne, I can't say enough about this man! He is consistent. He is present! Every time he answers the phone I know I will get to talk to my granny. It might be I need to call back in a bit but he is always kind and tells me when he thinks a good time would be so I get the best conversation with her and it works with what the staff are doing! He is a key player with communication and I really appreciate him! Blanca has also been sweet. She has been learning some things there and by trial and error by wrong or miscommunication about how things work we learn what is suppose to be done. I saw we because what she didn't know one day she corrected the following day with me. It was nice to have her explain to me what should be done and not be rude when I explained I didn't know of the procedure the previous day. We both gained knowledge which is how it should work! Lastly, there was a precious lady yesterday, I didn't get her name, but I was visiting through the window and my grandmother needed to be excused for a minute. She was gone a bit of time and this woman saw me standing there for a good minute asked if I was being assisted. Just her acknowledging that I was there, had been there a while, and ensuring I wasn't standing outside for the sunshine showed that even though they are busy and taking care of our loved ones they also try to take care of us, the families. Sorry this review is so long everyone but if you really want to know about a place you have to know good and bad not just bad. All people and places can have bad days... it is how many of those days are bad that makes you question. So thank you to the hard workers and especially the few I listed by name! You guys rock and I appreciate each of you!

The new management has no ltc/skilled experience and stated she is there to clean house. After yelling at a staff member in the office with the door open for all to hear and refused to make the meeting more private she not only humiliates staff but fires them for no reason. This facility also does not consider the needs of its patients. When staff address issues that could help the patients they are blown off and told to mind their business. If you are looking for employment or a place for your loved one I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They currently have a pending lawsuit for their employment practices. The DON will retaliate if she does not like you by terminating your employment. BEWARE!!

I rate Five Points the absolute best ; head and shoulders above all the others in the city. This type of work is extremely challenging as you have hundreds of patients and each with unique demands and challenges. Their professional staff care for each patient with genuine interest and concern. If there is something being missed and the patient or their sponsors will communicate that need to the staff, they will take care of the issue in a timely and professional manner-- with a welcoming attitude and a smile. The upbeat, positive attitude of the employees is one of the primary attributes that sets them apart from other facilities . The exercise staff is truly the best. They work to help the patients improve physically and mentally , and they do it in a manner that makes the patients feel important. They don't just go through the motions in their workouts; as much as the physical challenges they provide, they provided warmth and emotional encouragement at the same time. If the patients want help and want to improve, they will get what they need from these professionals. The food is excellent and the dining room is always bright and extremely clean. If you ask they, will adjust food requests to your taste and needs. The entire facility is kept clean and spotless and even the cleaning and support staff have a positive and helpful attitude. They host daily games, challenges, entertainments to help improve the spirits of all the patients that want to participate. When my time comes Five Points is were I'll get checked in ; I've seen almost every facility in Amarillo. The challenge is to go visit a facility before you get yourself are someone you love admitted.

The Director of Nursing, Christian, was always available to answer questions, and the Admissions Coordinator, Paul, was just as supportive and responsive. I reached out often with messages and questions, and they were consistently patient and helpful. The Activities Coordinator, Amber, is absolutely fantastic. She keeps residents engaged every day with meaningful activities that encourage both participation and connection. We are incredibly grateful for the care, attention, and compassion shown by the entire team. The best advice I can give to any family going through rehab with loved ones is to stay on top of the situation, ask questions and be engaged every day. Five Points responded to all of our questions and the love and support of family is the best thing anyone can do for their family.
