I took my cousin to play golf yesterday because it was his 31st birthday. We went to Plainview…read moreCountry Club like we have many times before. The only thing different is that it was a little code so I had on a beanie and a hoodie. I wasn't going to play it in we just went up to get a cart to load up and then change into appropriate clothing. We walked up to the Club house and there was a tournament going on. The sign on the door said that the course would be open at 1pm to the public. We went inside and I asked if I could prepay for a tee time. The course manage looked me up and down and said" 1 o'clock is for member you can come back at 2:30 or 3:00". He totally judged me and thought that I couldn't afford a membership. It was rude and condescending. An offer to join the club wasn't made and he really made us feel like we were bothering him. Totally unacceptable customer service.

I would not recommend having a Quinceanera or anything involving children here, because apparently…read moreit's our job to contain the premises even though I paid to have 2 security guards, but the manager stated it's not their job to babysit. They stated we were over capacity but failed to hire another security and now they're saying well they should've but didn't. They called and said they had a meeting and decided according to the manager on duty which I never saw and the security that my event was too rowdy and that the restrooms were trashed and even accused some of the kids of going to the back and stealing drinks. I made sure to ask the worker before we walked out if we needed to clean anything else and she said mo. So that is the excuse they used for keeping my deposit and then said I still owed another $375. I will never bring my business or recommend them for anything! Highly disappointed

Last played Colonial in 2018. Went yesterday while in town visiting friends…read more Pros: Staff was friendly. Paired with 3 young kids from Lubbock. Walking 18 with a small bucket on a Sunday was around $33, not bad for a municipal on the weekend. Beverage cart came around three times during our round. Layout is as creative as can be given the location. Greens were in decent shape for early March after a freeze. No bunkers. Cons: Gatorade was a almost $5, and there were no water stations on the course. Lots of dead spots and expansive areas of hard pan in and near the fairway. Pace of play was an issue. It was a busy day, but there were groups ahead of us causing a bottleneck. We saw a Marshall and worked to combine 2 2somes, but we were waiting on every shot into the greens for the last 9. 18 holes in 5 hrs is unacceptable and bad for business. All in all the course was in better shape than I expected base on prior experience. It isn't a great course, but for the price and the area, there are much lesser courses in the area. You get your money's worth, and as long as you play with a good group you'll enjoy your round.

But, they did have someone grilling food outside and there's also a dining area inside with a variety of different foods to choose from. All of us liked our dishes. It's a good place to eat whether you play golf or not.
