I called several gardeners at the recommendation of neighbors via FB community groups. Some didn't return my call, others were short, and the rest were overpriced or didn't do "small" jobs. All I need is to get my lawn mowed once or twice a month and Amariyah did not think my request was not worth his time. Strung us along for almost 2 weeks. Sent photos of our lawn. Was told they were coming to serve our lawn a day or two after my inquiry. He never showed up. After 12 days, he finally came by then told us he did not have time to do our lawn and to find someone else because it was a bigger job than he could handle. Wish he would have told us that when we send the photos of the lawn in the first place. Maybe he does a good job but we will never know. Similar to another reviewer, our yard's appearance (/health) kept getting worse and worse with the mow-and-blow guys, and the language barrier with my inability to communicate what I wanted was getting frustrating. Finally I decided to replace the whole weed patch the yard had become and to rework the sprinkler system. I got a couple of other quotes, but when Amariyah came by after responding to my initial inquiry very quickly, I felt confident he would do a good job because he really listened, took the time to answer my questions, gave me options at different price levels, and clearly explained his processes (and his prices were reasonable /fair). The entire job went so smoothly, and I was super happy with the communication -- he worked around a couple of my scheduling conflicts and always let us know when he would be arriving. The sod was really healthy, and he did a beautiful job installing it (along with a truckload of nice quality mulch for the fruit trees/ flower borders). It's successfully rooting and looks really great! Amariyah is a nice and honest guy who enjoys what he does. I am glad I found him for the job and in fact am now going to hire him for the ongoing maintenance, because he cares about his work and how my yard looks. read more

Our previous gardeners were just "mow and blow" guys and our lawn was getting worse and worse looking. When we called their phone number they never answered and if we couldn't happen to catch them when they came by, there was no way to communicate problems such as broken sprinkler heads, etc. I saw the owner of Amirayah's Illustrious Lawncare promoting his lawn fertilizing/revitalizing on Nextdoor and we contacted him. He took our lawn from basically dead and full of crabgrass to thriving and green. He really cares about gardening (you can follow him on Instagram to see what he's doing any given day). He has given us lots of tips on improving our yard and garden and always suggests ways to make it better, like fertilizing, which we couldn't even get our former gardeners to do. What I like about them is they use organic products that are safe for my little ones and the planet. My last gardeners did the job as if they were forced to just work. They slacked on the beds.
