Phillip from Ladera Design was our third bid. He showed up on time and listened to what we had envisioned for our pool. His bid was well within budget. I can't stress this enough...Phillip really does listen. I told him that I wanted something low maintenance and could withstand the extreme Texas heat. Also, I wanted plants that wouldn't drop leaves throughout the pool adding to a big mess. He picked several Iris and Plumbago Plants to surround my pool. He also installed two very large Texas Sabal palms, three large mediterranean fan palms, and a 7 foot windmill palm. Added several Mountain Laurels along the perimeter. He built the beds surrounding the pool up with additional soil. Added an automatic drip system, LED lighting, weed barrier, and river rock. I can honestly say that Phillip is more than just a Landscaper...this man is an artist! He transformed a boring pool area into our very own resort! I wanted something low maintenance and he listened. Irrigation system on a Hunter automated digital timer. LED lighting tied into the pools remote control. All of this well within budget. He is very easy to work with and cleans meticulously after every work day. Several months later and the landscaping is thriving! A few weeks later the wifey and I decided to use Phillip for our newly built flower beds and sprinkler system. Ladera design installed several plants with river rock, weed barrier, and a surrounding drip irrigation system. Phillip then installed a front and back sprinkler system. Up till now I have lived with dead grass in the summer months for 12 years....I now have green grass thanks to Phillip! When I had questions about the sprinkler system Phillip walked me through every step and took the time out of his day to make sure I was satisfied. Top of the line Hunter pro-series sprinkler heads and equipment. Breakaway easy fix sprinkler bases in case one gets driven on. Initially, I was apprehensive about picking a landscaper. Phillip made the whole process easy. He knows his plants. I had several last minute changes and Phillip took care of every one. Sooo...If you just want to walk out and enjoy a beautifully landscaped home then Phillip is your guy! If you have no idea how you can transform your yard into your own private resort give Phillip a call. His expertise is second to none. From the first meeting, he was professional and took the project seriously. He started with a drone photo overhead and created a design with our architect's plan. Travis worked with us to design a drought-tolerant landscape with a combination of astroturf and xeriscape, as well as limestone paver walkways with black granite and black steel edging to go with the aesthetics of our modern ranch. Our third party inspector noted that many landscape companies do not weld the steel edging to the stakes, but Travis's crew welded all of the connections and the steel seems thicker than what we had at our previous home. We chose Thrive because of other Google reviews combined with our interactions with Travis during the quote and design process. We found the same to be true as other reviewers, which was his crew was very positive, helpful, energetic, and some of the hardest workers on our project. I had to re-home them. I of course was happy to pay someone to remove them, I just did not want them killed. They were just saplings. Juan & his friend quickly got to work & popped those babies right back out of the earth & packaged them up & took them to put them in their new homes. Mind you, Juan drove all the way from Seguin out to Brauning Lake, after working all day at another job to take care of this because I was afraid they were going to die if they weren't rescued soon. After getting the trees I explained to Juan that I wanted to deck the area where the original tree was being removed. (The other tree removal was a bonus for me.) His friend stated that he does that work. He gave me a quote to do the deck, & we quickly got to work talking about what was needed, as I want to purchase the materials. This is an area where I will be planting a bed of cut flowers, and I couldn't stand how it looked. The side of the house was ugly and unkept; I despised walking back there. Once they replaced the wood wall, I decided to have them clean up the area with the AC unit. The foundation was poured onto a rock pile that was sloppy-looking. Small rocks everywhere that didn't match the rest of the rocks in the area. It looked as if the AC unit would slide down the incline. Frank's team came in and built a lower wall in front of the AC, purchased rocks that matched the rest, and filled it in. They added steps and a small walkway to the hose bibb so my feet wouldn't get muddy when watering and cutting flowers. The side of the house looks significantly better, and I am anxious to plant my bulbs and see what springs up next year! I appreciate the integrity of Frank's Landscaping. The team is committed to their work; they show up on time and worked, regardless of the weather. They tolerated 3-digit temperatures and direct sunlight while enhancing the side of my house.
