Great eye doctor, quick and no-nonsense, and the receptionist called right away when my contacts were in. Good experience overall!

I looked through a machine and Gill said same script as last year and he'd just change the reading part of the script. I explained that I need glasses, my eyes HAVE changed, he said I'll be fine with the old script. I explained that the last script wasn't correct and even though they kept telling me to wait and my eyes would adjust to the glasses , my eyes never adjusted. He was annoyed I asked him to check my eyes since I know i need glasses. He didn't want to check them but eventually updated my script. He can't answer any questions and doesn't spend more than a few minutes with you. They rush you in and out as fast as they can without regards to your needs/questions. Then, only AFTER the appointment did I find out they didn't take my insurance and I had to pay that day. Trying to get a copy of my records was extremely hard since no one answers the phone or returns calls. Also they don't give you the correct information to order glasses. Months later I called the insurance company to check on another issue and asked about eye exams, THEY ARE COVERED BY MY INSURANCE AND HIS OFFICE IS LISTED AS A PROVIDER. I will never go back there! I got my eye exam for my glasses and it went smoothly. I then decided to make an appointment for contacts. After waiting about 4 weeks, I left work almost an hour early to sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes. Then I sat down with Dr. Gill for about 3 minutes as he ran a machine. He then tried to put the contact in my eye about 8 times before angrily throwing the contacts in the garbage and saying " See you next year". I walked out in bewilderment to the receptionist. I stood there for a minute or two before she told me I was all set. I asked her what happened and she told me he couldn't get it in my eye after trying for 1-2 minutes. If you wanna get contacts from this place...don't. read more

My husband could usually give two hoots about Yelp reviews, but he told me to make sure to write about his experience last week. My husband had been a patient of Dr. Gill's for around 8 to 10 years before this instance for routine eyeglasses appointments, so it's not like he was there for his first visit, they had a relationship prior. My husband has an inflammatory disease not related to his eyes, but suddenly came up with a white spot on his iris. Of course we googled it, and it seemed like the start of a corneal ulcer, which is very concerning because it can cause permanent damage to the eyes. We have a vision plan and health insurance, both cards were provided to the front desk prior to the appointment. Nobody said anything. My husband went in and Dr. Gill did his evaluation. He then told my husband AFTER he evaluated his eye that our vision plan only covers visits for vision checks and not for instances like this, and also that he does not take our health insurance. He then told my husband in order to get any of his professional advice, he would need to pay out of pocket. Now at this point my husband is pretty taken aback because this is coming AFTER sitting and waiting and after Dr. Gills evaluation. My husband asked in the very least if he could tell him whether he thought he would need to go to the ER or if he thought it was urgent before the long Thanksgiving weekend, to which Dr. Gill refused and again repeated that he has to pay out of pocket for any of his insight. My husband left very frustrated and upset. I understand that he may not take our medical insurance, but insurance concerns usually are something discussed before being seen, not to mention it was made crystal clear that Dr. Gill was only worried about the money and not worried about his well being. He could in the very least have acknowledged my husbands concern and made a recommendation without providing a diagnosis. He will not be having my husband as a patient again. We thought this would be important to let people know, and based on other reviews this does not sound out of character for him. read more

I've seen Dr. Gill a few times never an issue he has always been very professional with me. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Gill seems to be a nice guy, and perhaps I'm just an odd case, but until dealing with him I had never had a case where a prescription or pair of glasses resulted in poor vision compared to a previous prescription. When I first got glasses with my new prescription from Dr. Gill, I quickly noticed that the right lens was blurry compared to the one in my old pair of glasses. He said to try them for a week, so I did. I didn't have any luck, though. Because of this, he decided to adjust the prescription, but without actually re-checking my eye to make sure it was correct. The result was that the replacement right lens didn't work for me, either. He ended up insisting that my old glasses had a prescription for the right eye that matched the new ones, but the difference in my vision disagrees. It is possible that he and his assistant both measured my PD incorrectly and that may be the cause, but rather than bother trying to really figure things out Dr. Gill simply decided to refund me on the glasses. So why still two stars? I still have a prescription that doesn't appear to be correct, and he didn't offer to re-check my eyes. This means that the vision benefit from my insurance company has been used and won't reset for two years unless they agree with my appeal. This means that I will most likely have to spend money elsewhere to get a proper eye exam. read more

I went into the shop for glasses and Dr. Gill became very nasty with me because I had some questions about my prescription. He said that "I wasn't paying for his time" because he did not examine and write my eyeglass prescription; Therefore, he did not want to help me with my questions. In other words, he is only interested in the money not the patient! He had a very poor attitude and made me feel like leaving his business. This lack of concern, for the patient, should make any patient want to stay clear of his business. I believe that it is pathetic when a "Doctor" only cares about money and not the welfare of the patient. read more
