The moment we walked in, the office looked and smelled like calm. Everyone is so welcoming and every staff member helped us navigate the transition. Getting insurance put in was a little hassle, but they were patient through every step. Despite being a premier dentist in my insurance network, their fees are more than reasonable. I don't feel anxious that there are going to be surprises every time I go in. I've never seen my kids so chill about dentist appointments. We are absolutely dog people, so their therapy dog(s) that often greet us in the waiting room for pets is a wonderful addition. My 11-year-old had such anxiety about dental visits that I couldn't tell him until the day of or he would dwell to the point of getting nothing else done leading up to it - but last visit he came out telling me it "wasn't so bad." That's quite the compliment coming from him. My 10 year old daughter saw the same hygienist/tech two times in a row. It made her feel really valued to see her wearing the pin she "gifted" her the appointment before on her name tag. Just when I think I dentist office can't have anything more to offer - they step it up. It's clear that a lot of thought and consideration went into building this office in a way that would best support it's patients. The only drawback is that I can't get an appointment for myself there! 10/5 stars, would recommend to anyone.

Honestly the weirdest cleaning appointment I've had in my life. All told I was there well over an…read morehour. Brought back immediately and put in the chair. Some initial questions by some woman who did not introduce herself (receptionist? hygienist?) and does xrays. Then she tells me someone would be back to do the cleaning. Easily 10 minute wait after she disappears. Then the dentist came in and we discussed my bridge and replacing it in the future. He disappears and that wait was easily 20 minutes. When he finally comes back he says he was working on 2 quotes for the bridge repair (why do that during a cleaning appointment) and then proceeds to clean my teeth. I figure I'm done and some woman (no introduction) comes in and gets me to open my mouth to rattle off to another woman my teeth by number, which were missing, etc. When the woman taking off my bib says we're done, I say something like "I guess I had no cavities?" and she says oh, yeah, you did. No future appointment made to fill the cavities.

So I took time off work, drove into town, and sat outside for 35 min. I called the "please call this number on your arrival" number several times. I texted that number several times. I went up and knocked on the door. The voicemail said they were open but busy assisting someone else. I was the only car in the lot. No one ever answered. After 35 minutes, I guess the dentists were leaving for the day and on their way out they stopped to ask what I was doing out there. They insisted they are not doing hygiene appointments and that all of them were cancelled. Except mine wasn't cancelled. I had no missed calls from the office. I have no voicemails from the office. And I have an email that confirmed my appointment. And if they were supposedly open, someone could have answered the phone or my text at some point over the 35 minutes to tell me they were not open. But they didn't. All of this, paired with me always making the first appointment of the day at 7am so I can make it to work on time, only to not be taken back until 7:30am while I can hear the hygienists chatting behind the doors, and being late for work every time, and then the good doctor that they had absolving their partnership is reason enough to find a new dentist. They have made it very clear that your time and money is not valuable to them, except the part where you pay them for their services. Update: I reached out to them via email and said I think they should pay me for lost wages plus gas if they're going to cancel. After all, most doctors/dentists will charge you if you cancel without notice. They told me I was being reported to the police for being angry and threatening. Was I angry? Yes, I still am. Did I threaten anyone? Only if repeatedly asking why no one called to cancel is threatening. Only if asking why I received a confirmation email for my appointment within the last 2 weeks is threatening. Only if telling them I lost 1.5 hours worth of wages and drove almost 50 miles round trip was threatening. I was also asked never to step foot in their office again. That won't be a problem 2nd update: I just confirmed with another patient that she did actually get her teeth cleaned the very same day I was told they cancelled all cleanings and were not currently doing them. So this entire thing could have been avoided two ways - they could have called and cancelled my appointment, or they could have kept my appointment since they were doing cleanings. I was told by the receptionist that North Pointe's insurance program changed and therefore, I owed money. I stated that I was never made aware of this and there are laws protecting consumers. They stated they would look into it. I was told that the bill was reduced, but they expected me to pay half. Again, I told them that I did not think this was appropriate due to the fact of never being told that I would need to pay anything due to their policy change which I should have been informed about. I pay for dental insurance to avoid having to pay for routine cleanings. Plus my husband is ill and not working so if I knew I would have to pay extra, I wouldn't have booked the cleaning here. They said that they look into it and if I didn't hear from them that I could count on the bill being forgiven. I didn't hear from them, but I did get a bill from collections. I'm livid. I thought we were working on handling this together and I thought it was handled, yet they sent it to collections. They lack accountability and compassion.

At the next appointment, that I had gone into thinking I was just having a normal filling appointment, they told me while I was sitting in the chair that they may have to do a root canal on the tooth that they were filling a cavity, but they wouldn't know until they were inside my tooth. They were essentially telling me that my $200 appointment (I did not have dental insurance) could possibly turn into a $3,000 appointment, but they won't know until they are already doing the procedure. I know people who have gotten root canals, and I know that you can tell beforehand if you need one or not. I'm only giving 2 stars because once the hygienist realized I was internally freaking out, she told me that maybe I should just think about it and come back another time. Thanks to her I did not have an unnecessary root canal. I have been to a different dentist several times since then and the word root canal has not once been said to me since.

It fell off again on a Friday evening. I could not secure it back in place because it has a HOLE in it. I called Monday morning. It took an HOUR to finally get ahold of someone and then I was told they could not possibly get me in anytime Monday. So I guess the dentist lied?? It's not important to get in right away??
