I put off my dental work for 7-8 years. Not good. A cap came off and I needed a dentist so my wife said try Smiles. Ok but dentists freak me out! Well the people were great! The dentist here told me it was very important to come in asap if my temporary crown came off. After reattaching my permanent crown that fell off and was DAMAGED they reattached it as a temporary while waiting for the replacement crown. It fell off again on a Friday evening. I could not secure it back in place because it has a HOLE in it. I called Monday morning. It took an HOUR to finally get ahold of someone and then I was told they could not possibly get me in anytime Monday. So I guess the dentist lied?? It's not important to get in right away?? It fell off FRIDAY! Whatever, time to look for a new dentist. read more

4/18/2022 **Update** Another successful trip to the dentist. I am a self diagnosed difficult patient due to my anxiety. I will stall and put off appointments for as long as I can. I can say with confidence that Dr Piefer and his team are hands down the best. They understand my barriers with appointments and do not push me into any treatment that I am not comfortable with. I am continually impressed with the kindness and knowledge of all the staff at the Cascade location! As stated in my first review, I am so happy I made the switch to MI Smiles. First review from 2021 Such a great experience with Dr Peifer and staff! I'm so happy I made the move to Mi Smiles. Staff was kind, courteous and knowledgeable. Dr. Kevin Flood is nothing less than excellent. For about 15 years, I went to Dr. Flood, and continued to see him once a year even after I had moved to New Mexico. I flew in to see him. He's that good. Dr. Flood makes you feel comfortable, because he know what he's doing, has a great sense of humor and takes an wholistic approach to dentistry. Thankfully I didn't have too many issues during those years seeing him. But when I did, he worked with me to remedy them quickly, using the best approach. When I first met him, he immediately noted that I grind my teeth at night, which I didn't know, but had the minor symptoms, like being able to "crack" my jaw joint and teeth which were ground down more so than was typical for someone of my age. I knew that he was encouraging of not using mercury amalgam fillings, so we worked together to gradually replace of mine with porcelain. With Dr. Flood I had to have my first crown, and it's never been a problem. When my mother was in the last years of her life, I brought her to Dr. Flood to have a new set of dentures fit, because a dentist in her former hometown had fitted them incorrectly. Not only were they were quite painful, but they looked like a set of teeth meant for someone who was 6 feet tall. My mother was barely 4'11". Dr. Flood worked with us to create a set which were proportional to my mother's face and the coloring was more natural to her. Not an extreme bright white. So I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Flood. He always came through for me and my family. And his staff over the years, has been warm and friendly. read more

I was having tooth pain on a molar and was recommended to this office from a friend so I went in ready to be delighted. All the staff was great and all the equipment is state of the art. I had a truly great experience until I met Dr. Flood himself. He was abrupt, terse and made it seems as though any problem was my fault and that I was being uncooperative. After a consultation he removed a cracked filling but left the bite high in spite of me saying that I could feel it when biting down. I had a lot of pain that night which persisted on and off for a couple weeks. I also had a new extreme sensitivity to cold. I came back in and he adjusted my bite and tried a new filling. The problem wasn't solved so I came back a few weeks later to consult and give him a chance to rectify the situation. He took another x-ray (which they billed me for), looked at it and said he didn't know what to do. He suggested trying a $1,100 crown and added that it may or may not fix the problem. He inspired no confidence whatsoever so I took that x-ray and went to another dentist who did a lot more thorough testing and said I'd need a root canal. I've since had the root canal and I regret ever trusting Dr. Flood. Great location, great staff, great facilities. The guy in charge just doesn't care. read more

Absolutely horrible. I have literally spent THOUSANDS of dollars in dental care and orthodontic care fixing all of what Kevin Flood neglected to do for my both my teeth, and my two daughter's teeth. I would not recommend ANYONE to go to him. My daughter had to go to the hospital to be put under to have all of the work done in her mouth that she needed after we finally left this office. Just this week for my older daughter I was told by our new orthodontist that it will cost $4500 to fix everything that needs to be done after leaving Dr. Flood's office and already paying him $6000 in orthodontic care for NOTHING. I had planned and scheduled dental work to replace all the amalgams in my mouth in two visits, first the left side then the right. It took three appointments, xrays, and paperwork to prepare every detail, including a precise cost estimate. When I went in for the first side, everything was going as planned until just after I was drugged and sluggish but long before Dr. Flood showed up for the work. At that fine moment, I recall the financial person in the office appeared to have me sign some form that was "required in order to proceed." Guess what that form was . . . a 30% increase on my bill! When I was once again lucid, I asked what happened and was told it was a little mistake on their part, that they had neglected to factor in the cost of their special amalgam vacuum. What?! This is supposedly Dr. Flood's most common treatment and someone forgot about the little 'ol extremely expensive vacuum?!! For a dentist not in-network on common insurances, what a shock- 30% increase pow. I told the office staff I would never return and that I would not do any more business with them whatsoever. Three years later, they still send me newsletters and email reminders for checkups. What a nightmare. read more
