This is a store where they discriminated against individuals with service dogs. Went to this store to buy a few things and took my service down with me. The owner of the store approached me and stated no dogs allowed while requesting me to leave the store. He then walks away being rude and disrespectful not allowing me inform him or show him documentation that the dog is a registered service dog! read more

While offended I told them both they can check the camera , it's also the law to honor a price on a miss marked item. I will also note I agree with all bad reviews. This is a pretty complete store! It serves the needs of the neighborhood quite well with the product it carries. I came in looking for some inexpensive office supplies and they had a great selection. They had kitchen tools, and house products I would have been interested in buying if I wasn't in the area for business! Pricing was indeed quite good! read more

This place has changed over the years for the worst. I had a horrible customer experience when my 4 year old had to use the rest room and they of course said no. My child is standing there rocking while I have to find someplace to let us use it. The lady I encountered was going to bring me to it, but then her coworker stopped her and basically said no. While the prices are okay, I don't want to shop here anymore. I've shopped in this place since 2010, never had an issue previously, but the last few trips has been nightmares. Best prices guaranty. This store never failed to help with last minute party favors. Come here for years even before it was smaller and located on East 15th., This time brought my daughter for her books shopping and price was marked as usual 75% lower then anywhere else. My boyfriend once bought a notebook for me that I refused to spend $12.00 on Amazon for $2.99 and I still have it. The only one thing that still the same and makes me super frustrated is a slow processing at the register. They always making you feel like you are at the pharmacy counter table and they are counting all your 28 pills slowly one by one, trying to avoid all possible mistakes... super annoying! read more

Our health comes first! We walked out almost as soon as we entered. We put our masks on, in keeping with CDC guidelines and NYC law. But as soon as we stepped through the door, my husband and I saw that most of the people in this crowded store did not have any masks. Omicron numbers are coming down, but we are NOT through the Omicron crisis yet. Cheap items are no bargain if you get sick shopping for them. They always have unique great stuff for an apt or, house. This includes but is not limited to fancy mason jars, toy for kids, gift wrap, household appliances and even pots/pans for the kitchen. Most of the time staff is helpful in finding things. They accept cash and credit. I suggest going on Sunday so you don't have to deal with the horrible parking meters. read more

Whoa. Amazing Savings is awesome. The store is broken down like this: The first few aisles are full of misc home goods... picture frames, glassware, brand name tools for the kitchen, etc. I scored a KitchenAid garlic press for $3. Awesome! Next up are the aisles full of toys for kids (puzzles, racing cars, barbie, etc). Followed by school/office stuff, scrap-booking stuff (!!), and stationary. and finally a couple aisles dedicated to holiday wrapping paper, decorative boxes, plastic ware, table cloths and foil pans. The store was clean. The staffers were friendly (I can't say the same for all of those shopping in the store Monday afternoon....) and the checkout line was quick! I just had the worst experience ever in this store. My son got a car from this store with which he never played (it was a present from his grandmother) the car was new, he refused even touch it. I brought the car in the original packaging to the store located on Ave M in Brooklyn with receipt and within 15 days from the purchase date (it was acctually 9th day from the purchase). I wanted to exchange the toy with another one and to pay the difference. So called manager refused to take the toy back (even though they checked it and it worked), because the box was opened (the package wasnt broken or anything)!!! She said she cant put it back on display. Well, if she cant, she is clearly at the wrong place. It resulted with ke goung to the store for nothing, my 2 yo didnt get any toys and left the store crying. I have never experienced such stressful situations, especially in tye store that sells toys! I should have went further, and file a former complaint because their acctions are clearly illegal. But i value my time more then rhose scumbags. Dont go there, dont waste you money there. I believe that the store name says it all. Amazing. Savings. It definitely has a whole variety of things for sale and many toys for kids that are cheaper than other places. They also have a big staff so when you have questions, you can just run up to one of them and ask them for help. My only gripe is that some of their columns has "price checker" signs on them yet they lack price checkers. Oh and be warned, they are PACKED and with kids running around, be careful if you're buying a lot of things (or I guess just maneuver in a way to avoid people) read more

Throwing a party? You've arrived at the headquarters. Just about anything you need to make a party on a budget look fancy. The plastic plates look way better than your grandma's china. There are utensils that look like real silverware. The store is not overly big but a decent enough size to fit almost anything in, from toys, clothing line, party goods, and other fun items to make an event a success. There is a small lot for parking shared with Shoprite. Have patience with parking. The store is not located in hyper busy area so you will be able to accomplish your shopping goals. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. I been buying at this location since I move 1 year ago. I am disabled, I walk with difficulties, so I can not rush at all. On December 14 2018 at around 1:30pm I am on the toy aisle when an employee comes with a huge ladder, saids EXCUSE ME, and I replied, "OF COURSE GIVE ME A FEW SECONDS SO I CAN MOVE FROM YOUR PATH", instead of moving forward I move to the opposite side so he can continue walking with the ladder and all of a sudden he gets right behind me for no reason, and then he throws the ladder on my back, laughs and keeps walking with the ladder. HE NEVER APOLOGIZE. I was angry I approached him and confronted him for what he did to me and instead of apologizing he started arguing with me and blamed it on me because "I DID NOT MOVE FASTER", he refused to identify himself and then he started speaking with another employee, both from India in their native language and both laugh in my face. I am Spanish and If a situation like this happened to me, first I will apologize to the person I hit and ask if this person was fine, and I will never walk away, then I will not make fun of this person with another employee. Then this 2 "Professionals" gang up on me and I call the manager, who instead of helping refuse to listen to me, asked me to point out who was the employee that hit me and SHE GOT ANGRY AT ME TELLING ME IT WAS MY FAULT and that her employee was walking backwards with a huge ladder and can not see who was in front of him, making this worst because Amazing Savings employee should see where he is walking. The manager, a female also from India briefly smile at her employees and told me to SHUT UP BECAUSE I SHOULD HAVE MOVE FASTER, even do I explained to her that I was disabled and due to my disability I walk very slowly. She refused to listen and she never apologized. I honestly do not understand why most of the male employees at this location and the manager who worked there on Friday December 14 2018 at around 1:30pm refuse to help properly and in a professional manner customers who are white or look white. read more

I have NEVER encountered such poor customer service in my life AND such poor quality items. I had a similar experience to another reviewer - Rachel. I purchased 2 Closetmaid drawers. When I went to put the first together, the pieces didn't seem right. I opened the second box and realized that one of the wooden pieces in the first box didn't have holes to screw it together. So, I went back to Amazing Savings, with my receipt, and asked if I could do an exchange. The rude 'customer service' specialist actually ARGUED with me and told me I was wrong. I told her it was obviously missing the holes since I had already put one together. She was very incompetent and had to call the manager. The manager came over and he tried putting it together and agreed with me. He actually said that he was going to drill holes in it and RESELL it!!! This was evidently a manufacturer's defect. I would NEVER buy anything if I knew they tried to 'fix' a product and undoubtedly didn't do a proper job. When he was putting everything back in the box to resell it, he asked where all the hardware was. This was another issue - there was NO hardware. I told him that and then HE started arguing with me asking me how he could resell it if there was no hardware and that he may as well put it in the garbage. After a good 10 minutes of arguing and getting nowhere with this insanely STINGY and greedy manager, I told him that since he was making such a huge deal over $5, I would simply purchase the other item instead of exchanging me. I should've listened to my instincts and stayed far away from this store but I purchased a second one which has the same defect as the first. I am NEVER returning to this store and advise all customers to steer clear of these people and their horribly crafted products. read more

Like Nikki said, Amazing Savings is good for what it is. That means you can't come here with an end goal in mind of what you want to buy. You have to come here thinking that you may walk out with either a full shopping cart or nothing. That's just how it is. That being said, there are some fabulous deals. As others have mentioned, the Mikasa and other vases and fancy items are an excellent deal if you need a gift for grandma. There's tons of stationary and scrapbooking items. Tons of games and toys for kids in your life. There's also a pretty decent kitchenware aisle, where I managed to score the following the other day: Two silicon oven mitts for $2 a piece. Two Kitchenaid decent spatulas for $2 a piece (they run about $10 in Macy's). A silicon prep bowl/condiment set of 4 (possibly by Kitchenaid) for $3, that would have probably run me a minimum of $9 anywhere else. A silicon trivet for a $1.29. For real. The same crap I've seen for $5 elsewhere. So while I didn't get a cartful, I also didn't walk away empty-handed, and I got amazing savings (ha ha ha) out of the whole deal. read more

Amazing Savings is awesome! I've been coming here since 1995 when they were half the size they are now. They've always been a great go-to place for nick-nacks, around-the-house items, school supplies, party supplies, gift bags and wrapping, gifts and toys for kids, as well as children's books. And if you're into scrap-booking, they have a fantastic selection. I would say it's almost like a "99 cents plus" type store, with the majority of items ranging anywhere from $2 to $20. Regardless of the price tag, though, all items are incredibly inexpensive for the product you're getting. It's well stocked and organized, open late, and no one ever gives you a hassle. They even accept returns and exchanges as long as you keep your receipt. read more

I didn't think to ever review this place, but why the heck not? I almost never "need" to stop into this crazy awesome store, but I always do, and I always spend money on things I don't really need. For example: my office provides me with office supplies galore. Why do I purchase post-it notes from here as though they have been discontinued? Oh that's right, because it's dirt cheap, and awesome. We often get the following items rather regularly from here: Aluminum foil, ziplock bags, wrapping paper, kitchen utensils, office supplies galore, long sleeves of disposable (Dixie brand) coffee cups with covers, disposable cutlery, plates, children's toys (hello Christmas and birthdays), and other random items. For example, I once purchased some dove body wash, but it was completely written in Italian and I had to google the words to make sure I was purchasing body wash and not shampoo. Another time I found a tiara here and forced my sister to wear it at her bachelorette party. The list goes on and on. The prices are right, the items are name brand and great quality, and it's just one of my favorite shops to spend on frivolity. Definitely check it out! read more

Amazing savings helped me out big time when I moved into my first apartment this past summer. I went in and bought everything I needed to be a functional adult. I mostly bought kitchen supplies. For nosy folks, I bought: a veggie Peeler, spatulas, a few knives, mixing bowls, measuring spoons/cup, kitchen scissors, mini $10 food processor and a bunch of other little things. They have a big party/entertaining section where they sell plastics and specialty plastic.. things. A big kids area.. Games clothes school supplies I bought cheap gloves and socks here once.. I also bought a bath rug here. They've got a lot of random homey stuff at affordable prices. Worth a visit for when you need affordable useful things. Their stock changes. So if you like something you should buy it, because it might not be there in a week or 3. (True story) Oh, PS- they don't accept AMEX! And cashiers/workers here dgaf about you. Absolutely love this place. You can find so many things here!!!! Homegoods, a great section of children's books and toys, there's a mish mosh of a lot of different things. Id def reccomend this place if your a school.teacher, scrapbooking supplies, if your a hostess to dinner parties...you will find very unique and inexpensive supplies for those types of things. This place as inexpensive everything is...its so well stocked and organized !!especially for Brooklyn (yes I said it). This is a great place to find a great gift for just about anyone! Especially children! I cannot resist going here everytime I'm in that section of Brooklyn. So go park in the municipal lot down the block and make sure you give yourself at least 1 1/2 hrs on that meter...or get off the q train its right there. I promise you-you will leave there with at least one huge bag of a whole buncha different stuff. You will often rub elbows with the Indian stock men and women filling the shelves and will be compelled to push them out the way to get some of those amazing savings. read more

Don't let the big store front fool you. This place is basically a large 99-cent store masquerading under a more official name. Most Amazing Savings stores are like that anyway, but this one is a bit more on the shabby side. It's a VERY good place to go if you're looking for cheap party/school supplies or gifts under $10, and it's a complete heaven for scrapbooking enthusiasts (whole sheets of scrapbooking supplies for $1 each), but beyond that? Eh. Their bigger merchandise and more complex products really don't boast any kind of quality to speak of. Most of it would probably fall apart in a couple of weeks anyway. NOTES: It's usually pretty crowded, and the lines are kinda long some days (though thankfully they have a good number of registers operating all at once). There's no private parking lot for the place, so good freaking luck if you go on a Sunday and try to find a nearby spot. That neighborhood is murderous when it comes to finding parking on a busy day. Amazing Savings and I go way back. Almost all of my childhood Barbie dolls were bought here. I was able to have so many because my parents paid under $10 for them instead of $25+ in Toysrus. As I grew older, Amazing Savings became my prime location for school supply shopping. Who needs Staples? A few years later, when I joined the workforce, my work place was having one of those annoying Christmas exchange gigs. Guess where I bought all of my gifts? Last week I visited Amazing Savings after a long time of not visiting. I was pleased to find that they were looking nice and neat with just as plentiful of an array of goods as in the 90s. The new location is spacious too. The only complaints I have to make is that before they used to carry a lot more candy and snacks for good prices. Now their selection is limited. Also, the staff are not the most pleasant people in the world. Overall though, great store! read more

I don't know what the other reviewers' problems are with the store, but it's wonderful for what it is supposed to be. It does not pretend to be something it isn't. It has EXTREMELY affordable things, and the quality is pretty darn great for the prices. You can buy some pretty great Mikasa items there for a wedding gift, or ridiculously cheap, but good quality, scrapbooking items if you're the creative type... or if you have a little one... be it your own, or a neice or nephew... there are some great toys there for prices you just can't beat. I'm not saying it sells high-end items for super-cheap prices... I'm saying that if you're on a budget... it's worth stopping in there and taking a look around.
