I had lunch at your restaurant with my aunties and uncle this afternoon. As I was leaving, I was carrying our leftover boxes, and when I stepped out the door with my snow boots on, I slipped on the icy ground right outside the entrance. Given the winter road conditions, your staff should ensure the walkway in front of the restaurant is properly maintained and not slippery. I'm grateful that it didn't happen to my elderly uncle and aunties, but it could have been much worse for me or any other customer. My lower back is sore now because of the fall. Please make sure to put sand, gravel, or ice melt outside to prevent incidents like this from happening again. read more

Horrible food , no real flavour but grease , no spicy in the salt and pepper chicken and it was hard and chewy . The wonton soup tasted like water, the chow mein was horrendous, full of grease and the chicken tasted like it was off . For the price you'd think they could afford seasoning ! I was craving beef flat rice noodles recently and I decided to order it from this restaurant for takeout. I was quite satisfied with the pricing and portion I received. For $16, I got a giant portion of the noodles that filled the whole box. The noodles were delicious and comparable to other Chinese restaurants. I also ordered beef tripe. It was was yummy and flavoured well. The only thing that may deter me from ordering from this place again would be the wait time. It was estimated I would get my food within 20-30 minutes but I waited for about 45 minutes. read more

Got the Amazing Wok special for 2 plus and an order of shrimp with peaches. The special was a great price for what you get. The only thing was the the ginger beef was a-little hard. Everything tasty and fresh. I did find the shrimp with peaches was very steep for price 20.99. Friendly delivery service if you spend over 55 before tax delivery is free and if you spend over 69 no GST. Lots of food had leftovers. This was my second time ordering this but the first time I got the Gourmet Special for 2 which includes the shrimp with peaches at 50 dollars. Tried this local chinese restaurant located on Ellerslie road lately. Ordered from this place twice thru UberEats, food was delivered on time and with great care both times. First time, we ordered Chicken Shanghai Noodles and Chicken fried rice. Loved the Shanghai Noodles but, found Chicken fried rice average. Second time, we ordered Chicken Hakka Noodles and Wor tip chicken dumplings. I never tasted Wor tip Chicken dumplings before, they are pan fried on one side and steamed on other. As well as Peaches and Shrimp, Szechuan Beef, Mixed Veggies, Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Soup. We did not like soup but that's due to use not liking Sweet and Sour soup in general. Last night was New Years Eve. We typically have Chinese Food for the evening. Over the years, we have learned to pre-order. So I called the Amazing Wok on December 30 and pre-ordered our food for pick up at 6:30 pm on December 31. I do this because Chinese take out is very popular on New Years Eve and I try to help the restaurant plan their cooking requirements for when it is very busy. Normally, I walk in, pay for my order, pick up my order and leave. Last night the Amazing Wok hadn't even started cooking my order when I got there for my 6:30pm pick up. Another, gentleman I spoke with had pre-ordered for pick up between 5:45 pm and 6:00pm and he didn't have his order yet at 6:40. Terrible service for customers trying to help by pre-ordering. Since we aren't usually in this area, the restaurant was a bit hard to locate especially on a busy Saturday afternoon on the roads. What a gem this place is! We enjoyed our lunch here and if we lived closer, I'm sure we would be eating here often. The parking lot is a bit small and there were lots of cars so I thought the restaurant was busy. We walked in and there were about four tables taken. We were greeted immediately and seated. Our Chinese tea arrived soon after. There are a few larger tables good for families. It was hard to decide what to order, they had dishes ranging from snacks, noodle soups, stir-fried noodles, rice and entrees. We ordered beef brisket noodle soup for $9.00 and beef brisket lo-mein for $10.00. Both portions were a good size but the lo-mein looked bigger. It came with broth on the side. The beef brisket was tender and lean and had just enough sauce. I noticed a take-out menu by the till but when I went up to get a copy, I was told it was the menu for western Chinese food. I was surprised that they have two different menus but it would make sense so they can accommodate different customers. Edmonton needs more smaller restaurants like this one all around the city. The food was excellent and we will definitely go back and try other dishes. read more

We came back to this restaurant with our friends as foods here tasted good the 1st time we went. Unfortunately, we encountered several issues tonight. The server was nice, and the foods taste great as expected until one of our kids saw hair from the fried rice on his plate. When we found a second one on a dish plate, we decided to let the server know, and they showed it to the cook. The server apologized to us. We accepted it even if it wasn't seem to be a big deal for them. That was the 1st issue. Second issue was, after we paid and we were waiting for the dessert of our kids, the cashier called us and she said that she messed up with the bill. She gave the bill of the other table to us. So we fixed it and paid whatever we owed. Third issue was when I followed up our dessert of 2 ice cream and the cashier said I need to pay for it again because she did not bill it to us. I said just cancel it because we waited long enough for it, I already paid which we thought the OVERALL bill and our companions were ready to go. I was also advised lastly that the crackers we added weren't billed TOO yet even though the cashier already asked us to settle our bill. We came back at the front 3 times to pay bills repeatedly. It was confusing and hassle for us as we have kids with us. Foods are satisfactory but our experience tonight is not good knowing that they didn't really bother about the hair that we have seen and billing wasn't accurate. read more

This restaurant offers pretty authentic Chinese food and is one of the better Chinese restaurants in the southside in regards to taste. Actually, I enjoyed all the things I've tried here. We've done a group set dinner and dinner where we ordered off the menu. It's brightly lit, has an easy to understand menu, kid friendly, and clean. There are Chinese specials posted, but also no translation for those. Location is pretty convenient; Parking is alright, can get full in such a small lot that's shared with Tim Hortons and the exit to the area is a bit out of the way. Otherwise the atmosphere is good, staff mostly speak Chinese, but still able to provide to your needs whether it be cutlery, more napkins, boosters/high chairs. They also do a quality check while you eat as well. A lot of my Chinese friends' parents come here which should say something about the quality of food here; although my father in law was not a fan of the pricing. He did say that in his opinion, the lunch specials posted in Chinese sounds like a better value, so there's a high probability that I'll be trying lunch there in the future. read more

I was there for lunch, it was moderately busy, about 1/2 full. I stood by the door for minutes without anyone coming over. I waited and waited, all of the waitresses appear to be avoiding eye contact at all cost. Eventually, an owner/hostess type came out of the kitchen and directed me to an empty table. There I sat, waiting; again waitresses flying by avoiding eye contacts, the hostess was busy collecting money and handing out takeouts. Eventually, the hostess delivered me an menu and some tea. There I sat, menu closed, waiting and waiting, eventually the hostess came back to take my order. By this time, I have decided that the service is bad here. The waitresses were busy avoiding eye contacts and the owner/hostess was not really interested in serving anyone other than what appears to be a table of regulars. I quickly ordered the Beef Brisket Lo Mein and prayed for the best. The food came relatively quickly. It looked good, nice big chunks of beef and some nice greens to go with it. The portions looked good for $10. First bite was not great, the beef was salty, the chef was quite aggressive with the seasoning. Then the noodles, they use chow mein type of egg noodles, completely wrong for lo mein, wrong textures, wrong taste; there was no familiar lo mein crunch to the noodles, very disappointing. Then the accompanying soup, that was the worst part of the meal, completely flavourless; it was basically warm water with a few pieces of scallions floating in it. Lousy service combined with mediocre food = 2 stars, probably could have given them one star but the place was very clean and nicely decorated. The two big screen TVs with sports on kept me entertained. Would I return, not likely, the food just wasn't good and the service was horrible. If that was the level of service when they were 1/2 full, I would hate to be there when they are full. read more

Very good Chinese food. I will be ordering from them again. We got the dinner for 8 which could have fed closer to 12 people. The reason I give 4/5 stars is delivery was a little over double the time they told us and their won ton soup tasted pretty bland. Otherwise everything was top notch. The lemon chicken is amazing! I've ordered take out from Amazing Wok multiple times. Overall - excellent value. Pros 1. Vegetables in the dishes are crisp/fresh. 2. Large serving sizes 3. No issues with delivery. 4. Sauces are very good. Perhaps made from scratch. 5. Beef and broccoli is the best I've had for take out. The sauce is great, different than similar places. 6. Shrimp portions are large and ample. 7. So three of us arrived, waited about 30-40 minuites after we ordered. A couple and a group of four came in after us and both received their food FIRST before us, how the fxck does that work? We got our soup like 10 minuites after them. 20 minuites later, guess who got their mains/second round of food? Not us but.......THE GROUP OF FOUR PEOPLE !!! 5 minuites later we finally get the peach shrimp, I will say that it is a notable highlight, very good. Another 5 minuites later we get the chow mien followed by the peking duck and the fried rice. Noodles alright slightly too saucy, fried rice and duck were alright as well. Starting from the ground up, two stars for the food, loss of three stars for how we didn't get served our orders around until 30 minuites after the people whom came before us got served first. read more

It was last Friday night. 10:00 was nearing and for some reason, we still hadn't had dinner. Amazing Wok sounded, well, pretty amazing at that point! I hadn't given this little plaza much hope before then - it's a bit awkward to access, and Chinese restaurants seem to be a dime-a-dozen in Edmonton. However, when it comes to taste and quality of the food, I was certainly impressed - even after arriving at home with our take-out order. The staff were friendly and helpful - and the food was ready upon my arrival 10-15 minutes after placing the order. I got a good laugh when the lady held up the ticket and asked if it was mine - The whole thing was written in Chinese characters (which I obviously couldn't read!) Thank goodness for phone numbers! Amazing Wok was indeed pretty amazing - we especially enjoyed the Shanghai Noodles, and the Sweet and Sour Boneless Pork - and we'll be back sometime soon (hopefully a little earlier). read more

I am visiting Edmonton from California for my cousins wedding. The location was very nice and clean, it was pretty slow when we arrived so service overall was great! The food however.....was amazing! Seeing that I was born in Taiwan and live close by LA in California, I have had many different asian restaurants. I have to say the flavors here are on point and I would recommend anyone who enjoys Asain food to try this location! read more

This was a last minute decision on a busy day. Our normal spot made me mad when I tried to order via app (didn't go through properly) and on the phone (tried to charge me extra when they shouldn't and wouldn't admit it), so this was honestly the next closest place. The service was great, but the food was just decent for what they charge. The Ginger Beef and Lemon Chicken were solid players, however the Cantonese Chow Mein was a little lack luster. I might try the Mixed Meat Chow Mein instead, and give it one more go. If it doesn't work out, I might be on the hunt for our new Chinese Food go to! I hope it's good, though, because the people there are so nice, and it's super easy to get into and out of off of the QEII on the way home. read more

Disappointing! Honestly I will never go back again. If you want flavorful, good food, this is not the place for it. The fried rice was so bland we had to add a lot soy sauce to enjoy it. None of the food was seasoned at all. Either the chef was tired or just overly busy. Dry, garlic ribs had zero flavor, all I could taste was the cornstarch from the batter. The crab cheese wontons were hardly filled and there was no trace of crab in the filling, just cream cheese and green onion. Unfortunately from now on to get delicious Chinese food we have to go all the way downtown to Lingnans- which for now is the only place we've found with satisfying Chinese food. read more
