I had a very disappointing experience with this moving company involving damage to multiple belongings and the handling of my subsequent claim. I have attached photos and documentation supporting the experience described below.
It has been almost a month since my move, and I have repeatedly followed up regarding furniture and other belongings that were damaged during the move. In my experience, valuable items were not adequately wrapped or secured in the truck.
After reporting the damage, I was asked to email photos, videos, and an itemized description of the damaged items, which I did. I was told on multiple occasions that my documentation had been received and would be forwarded for review. However, after weeks of following up and being told that the manager was unavailable and to call back later, I spoke with Paul.
During that conversation, I was told that my damage claim would be closed and that I would not receive compensation because of allegedly unpaid taxes on the invoice and an additional hour of moving time.
For context, these billing issues had already been discussed and resolved with Bala weeks earlier.
When I originally booked the move with Bala, I was provided a written moving contract/invoice showing the amount I was expected to pay. The document did not include additional taxes, and when I asked about the amount, I was reassured that this was what I would be paying. After the move, I received a different invoice that included taxes and an additional hour.
Regarding the additional hour, the movers were absent for over an hour while travelling between my old and new locations. During that time, I repeatedly called trying to determine where they were. By the time they arrived, I had missed my scheduled elevator access at my new building and had to work with building management to regain access. I raised this issue with Bala, and after discussing what happened, he agreed to remove the disputed additional hour.
I also raised the difference between the original written invoice and the revised amount with Bala. I sent him the original invoice I had received, and he agreed to honour the original amount. I have included documentation relating to these issues with this review.
Importantly, after these billing matters had been discussed, I was still instructed to submit evidence of my damaged belongings and an itemized description to the company. I did exactly that and subsequently received confirmation on more than one occasion that my documentation had been received and would be forwarded for review.
For that reason, I was extremely surprised to later be told that these previously discussed billing issues were now the reason my damage claim would be closed without compensation.
I have attached photos showing the damage, along with relevant documentation supporting the timeline described above.
Based on my experience with the handling of my belongings, the lengthy claims process, and the eventual response I received regarding my claim, I cannot recommend this company. I would strongly encourage prospective customers to carefully document the condition of their belongings, keep copies of all written quotes and invoices, and clarify the company's damage-claim process in writing before booking. read more
