Booked this company for a two day move with one day overnight storage. Moving out our old condo on…read moreMonday to move into our new condo the next day on Tuesday because we were getting the keys to our new place on Tuesday instead of Monday. Monday's move out went seamless. The movers showed up on time, wrapped all our fragile items and finished the move so quick. Friendly and efficient! Tuesday comes and the lawyers and banks and mortgage company are being so slow in the real estate transaction. We had booked our move for Tuesday in the new place from 3pm to 6pm. Because clearly we'll get the keys by then....WRONG The movers came to the loading dock of the new building and started unloading meanwhile we still didn't have the keys! We explained the situation to our movers and they said they'd unload and fill the service elevator and loading dock so when we get they keys we'll be ready to move! It's now 6pm and the sellers lawyer of our new condo couldn't release the keys because our down payment for the new place from the sale from our old place didn't get to the sellers bank account in time. Since we didn't get the keys the movers had to put all our items back into the truck from the loading docks and take it back to storage. The moving company called and said sorry for this chaos we're only charging you half the price of our storage fees and we can come back and deliver your items the next day in the evening. So now it's Wednesday, the third day of this real estate transaction. 8am goes by, 9am goes by, 10am goes by. Finally just after 10am the lawyer gets us the lockbox combination to access the keys for our new condo. Meanwhile, I'm frantically calling our new building management all morning because they didn't have any timeslots available for the service elevator and if we didn't move our things in that day on Wednesday with the movers the next available timeslot was SUNDAY. I finally get a hold of our condo building management and they gave us the permission to move in later and that they would notify our security to book the service elevator for us. The movers come back in the evening to attempt to move us again into our new condo and we're unloading into the loading dock and we are ready to move our items upstairs finally!! BUT NOWWWWWW..... because why not... The service elevator stopped working. And one elevator is already broken. So now there's only one elevator with a huge line up to get upstairs. And of course, we couldn't shut that elevator down for our move. The security called a tech to come out to fix the service elevator for us and the movers were so chill and so nice and waited with us over an hour for it to be fixed. Also, the company sent three people for this condo move just to move us and make it go as fast as possible because we're already moving in past 6pm (the cutoff time for moving in to our new condo).  Now it's around 8:30pm/9pm and the service elevator started working and we're finally moving in! So, basically hire this company and you will not regret your decision!! Hands down the best in the city!! Thank you The Six Moving for everything!!!

Ahmed and his partner arrived a few minutes early which was very helpful and they worked efficiently and were very careful when handling my furniture and boxes and other items like lamps. Moving between condos means having only so much elevator time and they completed the move within the time allotted. This is truly a company that cares and is always willing to help.I had a problem with opening a couple of drawers in one of my dressers - it's an older solid wood one - and I contacted Pari at the office and asked she knew of anyone who might be able to help. She responded immediately and sent someone over to check it out the very next day. Ahmed came and examined and studied the dresser and worked until he finally figured out the problem. The problem seemed to be a result of the extra humidity in my new place which caused the wood to expand just enough to cause a issue. After Ahmed's help, the drawers now open and shut as they should. A lot of companies might just feel that once the move was complete their job was done but Great Toronto Movers went above and beyond the call of duty to help. And I should mention the pricing. The pricing is very fair and you know exactly how the pricing is structured and there are no hidden fees - something I discovered that many moving companies have - but not Great Toronto Movers. I can not stress enough how awesome these guys are! We moved from a condo to another condo in…read moredowntown Toronto and moving out went smoothly. When we tried to move in to another condo, our lawyer informed that the purchase transaction had gotten delayed to the next day and we would not get keys that day. What a nightmare - all our life belongings were in a moving truck and we couldn't move in and had nowhere to go, or put our stuff! This is where The Six Moving absolutely saved the day. The movers called Zara and she quickly arranged emergency storage for our things for the night and they worked outside regular working hours the next day to get us moved in. It's scary even to think what would've happened had this option not been available. The following day we got the keys and The Six Moving showed up again and Murphy's Law was in full effect again - the moving elevator broke moments before they arrived. Elevator service technician was called but it was unknown when they would arrive. The Six Moving assured us they will stay as long as required until we can move in. How amazing is that? It really calmed our nerves and helped us keep our sanity. After a lengthy delay, the elevator started working again and we managed to move in very quickly and efficiently - late at night. Here's a fine example of paying a little extra but getting huge benefit from it. I'm sure many moving companies would have just left and not care what happened to us. Jan and James arrived on time and Jan put me at ease with his calming demeanour.Another guy with a Hertz Rent a Truck showed up claiming that I had confirmed with him (which I had not) and he scammed around a bit and then left.My movers were very fast and proficient and wrapped everything that needed wrapping like the couch and matress.Note that it helped big time that we had stacked all our boxes near our door inside and were very organized beforehand.They unpacked our one truckload at our new place fast and we were AMAzed at the price which was UNder initial estimate!!!Would I hire them again?Positively!!!

It's unfortunate that Jai decided to fabricate the truth, but there are emails and witnesses that can confirm my version of events. To begin with, Jai himself admits that there was a mutual error regarding the moving date. I specifically requested *Saturday,* January 24th in my email. Neither Maria nor Jai followed up to confirm the date; instead, they simply scheduled the move for Friday, January 24th. Since the move was never intended to take place on Friday, there was no cancellation on my part. Jai even acknowledged this was a mutual error. Out of goodwill, I agreed to pay $150 after Jai pleaded with me, claiming he needed to pay his crew. This wasn't a cancellation, so his claim that I canceled is categorically false. As for transparency, Jai conveniently fails to mention that, at the end of the day, he tried to overcharge me by asking for over $800, claiming I had to cover the truck's return trip. Only after I threatened legal action for non-disclosure and unfair charges did he agree to "remove" these additional fees. Furthermore, after payment, I requested a receipt and was assured it would be emailed to me. To this day, I haven't received a bill of lading, which he is legally obligated to provide. However, I do have two quotes and three emails showing inconsistent times and charges. Even the amount he references in his rebuttal is incorrect, further demonstrating his inability to provide a truthful account. This behavior comes from a company that claims transparency and top-notch service. Jai's desperation is evident. In fact, I also have emails from him begging me to remove my negative review, even threatening legal action against me. I welcomed such action, yet instead, I was met with a rebuttal full of lies and inaccuracies, clearly a desperate attempt to save his reputation. To make matters worse, Jai and his company are so panicked that they have removed the reply option from their Google review/rebuttal, deliberately preventing me from responding to their lies. This tactic only further underscores their lack of professionalism and integrity. Lastly, Jai's claim that I said I would post a fake review is another blatant lie. My review is entirely honest and accurate. If he truly believes otherwise and can prove it, he should take legal action. However, it seems clear that he's more focused on damage control than addressing the truth.

The move took many hours of heavy labour, but the guys never got grumpy and helped in every way they could. It took me a long time to find a company that would give me a flat rate and stick to it. I had read all the horror stories and felt vulnerable, but Jai did that honestly, and all considered it was a very fair price. This is without a doubt the worst moving company I've ever hired. I'm going to just state facts in…read morepoint form. To summarize, in case you don't want to read this: There were thousands of dollars of damage done, they were slow and sloppy, they didn't work hard, and only responded to my damages claim after 3 emails a couple weeks apart and the threat of a lawsuit. On the way in: -They were extremely slow. They worked like they were getting paid by the hour. They did not show care, or seem to have any strategy for wrapping items nor putting them in the truck. Most of the time one person would be working and the other person would be watching them. -After I specifically instructed mover Eric to please put moving blankets between each painting and picture, he agreed. I came back 10 minutes later to see he had stacked all 15 pictures and paintings against each other, with nothing in between them, not even going back to back, front to front. The weight and friction of this (especially wires against the front of each piece of art caused many scratches on both the frames and actual art, seriously damaging them. He could offer no explanation as to why he didn't do as he said he would, and commented that they were in fact damaged, and that he knows that often the frames are more expensive than the pieces. Although parts of this are covered in their waiver, the damage occured not during the move, but before, because the mover didn't actually wrap them. Estimated damages to frames and art by art repairer: $3000 -Eric later decided that even though I asked him to please wrap our fabric headboard before moving it, that it was ok not to, and that it was a good idea to please it fabric side down on the floor of the garbage room/moving area. Then later, on the floor of the dusty, dirty moving truck -After I asked mover Alex to please get back to work, he had a freak out, screamed at me, stopped working and walked off. The boss (Denis) came by and couldn't find him. He was pouting in the truck, as his boss was doing his job for him. He was in there, getting paid, not working, for over an hour. Eventually Denis convinced him to come out and work, but he mostly just stood around. -They stored our stuff for the week while our new place was undergoing renos. Because of the trouble, they waived the storage fee which was very nice. They also didn't charge us for wardrobe boxes, which again was very nice. A week later on the move in: -They used 3 movers to speed up the process. They lifted an armoire (fairly heavy) and placed it down too hard on one leg, and it snapped. -1 mover (Mike) arrived from the storage facility to our house, and got to work. Even though he left at the same time as the other two, they decided to go for coffee (while we were paying them $135/hour) and arrived 25 minutes after him. -They dropped the aforementioned armoire down the stairs while moving it 5 times. This was due to constant miscommunications about how to lift it. I've moved this armoire with my dad 3 times and never had a problem. We are not professional movers. Yes, 5 times. Of course it was dented all over with gouges and scratches. Estimated damage by carpenter: $1500 -The stairs were also destroyed from the armoire crashing into the 5 times. Not just scratched, but dented and gouged all over. They will have to be completely replaced. Estimated replacement cost by carpenter: $2000 I stupidly paid the bill after this and should have refused. It took 3 emails to get a response about the damages claim, and they got back to me only after I told them I would be taking them to small claims court. I sent pictures of all the damages, of course. They came and took a look, and then I didn't hear from them for a couple weeks despite numerous emails. Eventually, they told me they would offer me $300 as compensation. Wanting to be done with them, I took it rather than pursue them in small claims court. They did fix the glass for one of the pictures that was broken, so there's that. $300 to offset about $6500 worth of damages. I sure learned my lesson about going with a cheap moving company!

The mover guys showed up on time, they are both from Asia, that is the reason why their rate is cheaper, I think, however, their service is good and work very efficiently. They were not only very professional and courteous, but worked carefully, quickly and efficiently. The loaded all my stuffs in at 2 hours under the initial estimate, which are two bedrooms appartment!, and one hour on driving and only one and half hour for unloading.
