I would recommend getting the bag of 12 mini bite cookies, that way you can get a variety of different flavours and it works out as a pretty good deal price wise. For £13.50 I have to admit I expected the best nougat on the planet - and the experience of it to boot - particularly because there were only 4 pieces of nougat in the tin. Having tried it, and having tried other nougats, I honestly could not justify the steep price no matter how much I tried. I know it was a distributor's retail price so partly it's up to them what they charge but maybe a more realistic retail price suggestion would have been £5 for that tin of 4 pieces of nougat.

Deli and Delights has a nice selection of Blue Dragon soup, Seggiano sauce (makers of the best pesto sauce around) and loads of expensive chocolates. I felt fabulous shopping here.

You know when you've found love when you've found a shop that sells organic lime and tequila marmalade. The place is just outside Highgate Underground station and one of the first places I shopped when I first moved here. The place is small, not particularly pretentious but very artisan and supplies more simple things such as a small selection of frozen foods and toiletries. I try not to come here as I do tend to raid the antipasti and the weird and wonderful marmalade. So much quality so much temptation and worth a visit.

I have flittered between Montezumas and Hotel Chocolat over the past few years when it comes to chocolate based gifts (for other people....mostly) except when I'm in Brighton then its Choccy-Woccy all the way. Both offer high quality chocolate that makes a box of Thorntons feel like you're eating razorblades. The one thing that I feel Montezumas has over the others is that hint of the bizarre. They have some uniques fillings and flavours such as wasabi, chilli and curry spice. Some of these work and some......do not, but each are well worth a try. Often, they will have someone standing outside the store giving out free samples. In fact, yesterday there was a poor thing standing outside in the cold and people were ignoring the free chocolate! Madness! They sell each chocolate individually, or in gift boxes, as well as slabs and bars. The prices are pretty standard for premium chocolates and each box comes in many sizes so it is easy to find the perfect one for you. This time of year they have also got lots of little cute Christmassy chocs too which would light up the face of even the most ungrateful little brat this festive season. :)

As for the wraps/sandwiches, there are basically two choices: the Lebanese wrap (a plain flat-bread wrap) or the Moroccan wrap (a flat-bread with spinach inside). Once you've made this difficult choice, you have to make more choices...you can fill your wrap with salads (such as tabbouleh), spreads (such as humous) and meats (such as spicy chicken or merguez). But, if you don't want to choose, you might as well order two kinds of wraps as the prices of one is very reasonable. Later, you may want to top it all off with a nice baklava, which you might even get for free if you're really nice. In fact, speaking of nice, the service here is super-friendly. On top of it, they come along with this cheezy-sounding marketing splur: "On every COOK dish you'll find the name of the chef who prepared your food." Yet, sceptical or not, my curiosity outweighed and so I popped in the other day and browsed their selection. The folks in the store were very friendly and offered samplings, which is always a nice touch. I then asked someone for a recommendation and the she told me that I should try the "Moroccan Harissa Chicken" and the "Minted Couscous" on the side. And so I followed her advise, as well as the cooking instructions on the packaging later at home. And let me tell you, I was seriously surprised as how good this tasted. Indeed, the folks at Cook are definitely staying true to their motto: "Our food looks and tastes homemade (maybe even a bit better!)" I'm convinced of this great concept and I'm planning a trip to the Cook store in Muswell Hill as I'm typing this. It might be not as affordable as the stuff you get at Coop or Sainsbury's, but it tastes so much better!

They carry the same range of frozen meals and ready to eat snacks. They're always innovating and I interested to see a range of Indian dishes today I have tried some of their frozen desserts, which were great. Today, I contented myself with some bags of satay peanuts after my large meal at Chooks
