Otherwise I'd walk. I've never seen cars in such disrepair and high mileage. Barely working suspension and check engine lights always on. And for whatever reason almost all of the drivers had their seats extremely reclined like they were in a 90s gangsta rap video. These are not professional drivers and I'd never think of using them for anything like a ride to or from the airport. I can't understand how these guys are still around with Uber and Lyft. I'm sure someone can clean up driving Uber/Lyft in the morning or afternoon.

But I called Jericho taxi and was assured that a car seat could be provided for $20 fee. No problem. When the driver, Lawrence, arrived, the car seat was there but was not even close to properly installed. We didn't complain but obviously set about fixing it. At which point Lawrence starting yelling at us to leave it alone. I was not comfortable putting her in the seat like that but felt like I didn't have a choice so we put her in and found that the straps were almost taut against the seat. There was no way we could put her arms in. It wasn't immediately obvious how to adjust them so we were fiddling with them for a couple of minutes. Lawrence had running commentary this entire time and was being extremely rude. Once we had been in the car for exactly SIX MINUTES, he yelled at us that we had to just hold our daughter on our laps because we can't keep trying to "figure it out for an hour." I told him that's illegal and he could lose his license and he said he didn't care. I told him we are trying to keep our daughter safe and he continued to insist that we stop touching the car seat. We ended up holding her the whole way to the airport and I was sick to my stomach the whole time. I was crying as quietly as possible because I didn't want my daughter to be scared. I have never encountered anything so upsetting from any company.
