Yesterday after work, I called Syosset Taxi and spoke to a guy named John. I told him I was going to LaGuardia Airport. Asked him to have me picked up at 10am today. Not only was the price super reasonable (as opposed to other companies), but my driver Richard was super awesome. Very cool driver, and very professional. On top of that, he stayed off of his phone the entire way and was engaged in conversation with me. Despite all the bad reviews, I highly recommend this company. 10/10 stars! read more

I was forced to use this back when I was taking LIRR from the city for work in Syosset. Luckily I worked exactly a mile from the train station so I'd only use them in the morning and only on days with bad weather after work. Otherwise I'd walk. I've never seen cars in such disrepair and high mileage. Barely working suspension and check engine lights always on. And for whatever reason almost all of the drivers had their seats extremely reclined like they were in a 90s gangsta rap video. These are not professional drivers and I'd never think of using them for anything like a ride to or from the airport. I can't understand how these guys are still around with Uber and Lyft. I'm sure someone can clean up driving Uber/Lyft in the morning or afternoon. read more

we booked our service to JFK well in advance for a early morning pickup and at a hour before our pickup we got a call from the driver that he would not be able to drive us. We called the owner who did not answer. We had to call two ubers to get us to the airport and then once at the airport the owner finally called us back. Upon our return they had us waiting for a hour to get picked up and the guy was very unprofessional. I would absolutely NOT recommend using them. Taxi also masquerading as a limousine company. I had to get to the airport for my trip to Europe and decided to try these guys. I knew I was off to an ominous start when I am sitting there at the pick up time and no car in sight- I tend to grab a lot of rides to the airport and without fail, they drivers are usually early. After waiting 15 minutes past the pickup time, I called and I could hear the confusion in the voice of the dispatcher - "you mean you need that ride now? We were there at 7 A.M.!" Of course, they never bothered to call me at 7a.m. to ask where I was.... The guy assures me that they can have someone there in 15 minutes - hmmm Sure enough, a driver calls and lets me know he is heading my way - and then he calls me like 10 more times for directions - kind of a block-by-block narrative. The guy has ZERO sense of direction- ZERO. I have to stop him repeatedly from going the wrong way - let me put it to you this way: JFK is the largest airport in the NY area and I'm guessing every limo / taxi driver on the planet has been there at least once- except my guy I think. He says he knows where it is, but starts out heading toward Montauk... In any case, he does get us there in one piece - no small feat considering that it was raining and his windshield wipers were kind of just smearing the water around the windshield... The ride back as a bit less eventful but the same "where exactly are you scenario" with another driver... I mean really how hard is "I am standing in front of Air France terminal 1" to understand? The cars were basically in disrepair and the aforementioned dire need of purchasing a tom-tom for their fleet earns them 2 stars. Good luck! read more

Awful! Had a confirmed pickup and they never picked us up even though the dispatcher told me the driver was five minutes away. Left two senior citizens at the train station in Syosset at 3am. Cowards couldn't even pickup the phone after many attempts to get an update. Thankful that Hicksville Taxi was operational and came to pick us up. read more

This company has the worst, most unprofessional staff of any company I have ever dealt with. A group of five people went to a wedding on Long Island and needed a taxi to get to the train to head back to New York City. We called the number on the business card given to us by the taxi driver who brought us to the venue in the first place. We were told that the car would be there in 10-15 minutes, which would have given us plenty of time to catch the train. 20 minutes later, we were still waiting for the car. I called back to tell them we needed the car as soon as possible in order to catch the train and was told the car was on the way. I asked how long it would be and was HUNG UP ON!!!!! After calling back several times, being hung up on EACH TIME, missing the train and then cancelling our car (which was never coming anyway), we had to book through a service recommended by the hotel. I will be reporting the unprofessional-ism to the better business bureau. read more

BEWARE they overcharge! I was charged $25 for a 5 mile trip from Woodbury to Huntington, more than double their posted rate of $2.75/mile. I later found out my trips to the local train station should have been $5 rather than the $7 I was charged. Unconscionable and dishonest. My hotel will no longer call them. read more

I just called for a taxi, and what a surprise!!! I was threatened, again. That if I obviously cancel a taxi. (Which is the nice thing to do) They will not pick me up anymore. A driver for this company left his vehicle unattended illegally parked behing my vehicle (which was in a marked parking space) at the Syosset NY train station. Thus not allowing me to leave my parking space until he came out of a store at his leisure. When he was asked multiple times to move, he began shouting expletives at me including calling me a c**t. I took pictures of the car including the license plate as well as the driver in hopes that the companies office would resolve the matter. When I called the number on the taxi and asked to speak to management I was met with the same attitude that the driver had. The manager did not care nor say much about the incident before disconnecting the call abruptly. The phone number on the taxi (which is labeled Syosset taxi) comes up in a google search to Oyster Bay limosine and taxi which is not what the vehicle states. read more

This Taxi company should be fined. I booked a round trip to/from JFK airport online and followed up with a confirm telephone call prior to my trip. The pick up from my house to airport was ok but when I landed and called for the ride booked home (and confirmed) I was told there was no driver. After much discussion it was revealed that an error was made and my pick up was not put in "the book". Therefore it was not scheduled. They wanted me to wait until a driver left LaGuardia Airport to come get me. This could have taken hours with construction and traffic. Nice way to treat a senior who has been loyal to this company thru the years! They just didn't care that I was stranded at JFK with no ride due to their incompetence. The owner was supposed to call me but that never happened. I would recommend that you select another company, one that values its customers. Never again Syosset Taxi! read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I took the taxi from Syosset LIRR to Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. The driver COMPLAINED when I asked to be taken to a specific building on the lab campus rather than letting him dump me out at the front entrance. This taxi company is ridiculous. I guess they know that they are one of 2 taxi companies operating around the syosset/oyster bay area , so they have zero respect for their customers and decide to send their taxis when it suits them, but tell the customer '10 minutes' anyway. 20-30 or more minutes later when you call back taxi less, they either sent it to the 'wrong place' or 'it's just on its way'. They have no compassion regarding this, or the fact that you're late for work/missed your train bla bla. I would recommend going with Oyster Bay Rides, their fare may be a few dollars extra but at least you'll be there on time and won't be met with rude customer service and an 'I don't give a damn' attitude. read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. Called at 930pm to make sure I could get a cab at 1015 to take me to the train station. After calling at 1020 and 1025 to see where the guy was, finally shows up at 1030. I ask if he can get us to train station in 8 minutes so we can catch the train and this (insert profanity) gives me attitude saying he might be able to but I have to get in first so he can start driving. Kudos to Syosset Taxi and their driver Judy who both came through for my family on a frigid, icy night. Not only did they arrive at Syosset station almost immediately and get us home but also returned when they found a wallet we had left in the back seat. Efficient, trustworthy, and well worth a call. Recently booked cab for 4:45 am pickup to La Guardia airport. After reading horrible reviews, I almost cancelled but I had used them before to JFK with always positive results. This early morning trip was no different. Driver Harry was early, got me there quick for the agreed price. I have been using Syosset/Oyster Bay Taxi for well over 4 years now and I absolutely love the service. The dispatcher knows me by the sound of my voice and is always kind and respectful towards me. I don't travel much but I had recently gone to Florida and decided to use Syosset/Oyster Bay Taxi for go to and from JFK. The process was so easy and the rates were much more reasonable than Oyster Rides and the drivers I had coming and going were extremely nice and professional. After behind on hold for 15 minutes and apparently hung up on ( on 3 separate occasions), the PM dispatcher, once I got through was the nastiest, most indignant person on the face of the earth. These people know how to run a business. They charged only $7 to go to the Woodbury Jewish Center (cheaper than Uber by a long shot), and they provided a professional ride. The driver was great, and it is for good reason they are the taxi number provided by the Long Island Rail Road in the timetable for Syosset station. If you need a cab from the railroad here to Woodbury, or around Syosset, maybe even Plainview, I recommend these guys 100%. read more

What a nightmare we experienced. They no showed and hung up on us, and called back and lied. One person was saying they were coming, another person was saying they weren't coming. They strung us along for an hour and fifteen minutes, before we had to give up and find an alternative way to get to the airport. Fortunately we allowed plenty of time to get to the airport. Use them daily to go to and from the train station. Price is always the same doesn't go up or down. Took them to the airport for a few trips never really encountered much problem. Its nice to see they finally upgraded their cars its a big improvment. read more

This is such a bad taxi service!! One time I was with my family and my cousins and we were 12 people. We called a taxi and when the taxi man came he was so arrogant and rude! My niece was about to go into the car and she was small so we can squeeze and my other niece felt uncomfortable so she got out of the car. They kept saying "no you go I can go into another car" back and forth. The taxi man yelled at both my nieces and was asking which one was going to go in. We were outraged so we let the man go without any people. We called the company and said they were going to fire the man. It was a very bad experience for my niece and started crying :( read more

This is the absolute WORST company EVER. Last week, I called around 1pm to order a 6:10 pm pick up, this way I wouldn't run into any issues with the driver being late to get me. Now, my business has an identical address to a different building in Woodbury so I made sure to confirm with the dispatcher that he would go to the Syosset location. At 6:15 when there was no car here, I called & was told "he'll be there any minute". At 6:25, after standing outside for 10 mins, I was told "he was there, stayed for 16 mins & left" - Well anyone in their right might would know he was full of **** as, I just called 10 minutes ago! I called again @ 6:35 & was told "he's on his way again". So I asked, is he going to Woodbury or Syosset? SURE ENOUGH HE WAS GOING TO WOODBURY.
