Some clinicians even offer nighttime appointments which help for those trying to come after work. The only con is that the offices are a bit dated and I hate calling in to an automated telephone system. They take care of all billing and are very responsive. I originally became a patient as my PCP had difficulty understanding the drug interactions of some medications. I wanted to coordinate my care so that one doc could manage my medications and therapy in one visit. Unfortunately, therapy and med management are separate visits. However, it was nice to finally have both docs under the same roof! Plus, the docs I saw weren't not only knowledgeable, but they were also kind and accommodating. Dr. Orleck (psychotherapy) is has a peaceful demeanor, and is caring and compassionate. She offers real-world advice that helps inspire and reassure you at the same time. Dr. Onofrei provides ADHD assessments via questionnaire and office visits. There were a total of 3 visits, lasting about 1hr each. Without his assessment their doctors cannot prescribe ADDHD meds. Dr. O is another kind soul who you instantly feel comfortable with. He offers 8pm appointments for those who work late. Dr. Simkowitz is very knowledgeable about drug interactions, has flexible scheduling (i.e. Early AM), and responds instantly to any email questions you may have. I felt reassured having him manage all my medications. If you're in Cambridge/Arlington area, then I'd def recommend checking out PCA.

I filled out the form at the suggestion of my OBGYN, who recommended I talk with someone about a few post-partum issues that I had been having. The form was comprehensive and I was thrilled to get a call later that day! ...to my dismay, the admin who called me (who was very polite and who I enjoyed speaking with) was apologetic about not being able to work around my schedule. The rub is that they could not commit to a consistent time/day of the week for my appointments! I told them I could be flexible and available any time on Fridays or Tuesdays. When she called me back (after confirming with the director), she confirmed that they would not be able to give me consistent days/times, and couldn't even be sure they'd be able to give me enough advanced notice to make sure I could clear my work schedule! (And for what it's worth, I have a flexible work schedule with generous work from home time, and even then that was not enough.) For a practice that touts its' ability to help new mothers or working parents, this practice has shown shockingly little interest in being scheduling-friendly. On my second call, the admin was asked to refer me to their sister practice in *Lexington* - as Lexington had more availability - even though I live in Stoneham and work in Kendall Square in Cambridge and am already struggling with scheduling this appointment with any sort of week-to-week consistency, let alone tacking a 30-m drive on top of it. At the end of the call they were so unable to help me that I left with more anxiety than I started with, and I decided to look elsewhere for assistance.

My shoulders are even, and my right shoulder (chronic bursitis from playing competitive tennis) feels so much better than it used to. I had never done it before so have nothing to compare it to but think I can be objective about the service at Cambridge Health which was very good. My accunpuncturist (Marilyn) was friendly and thorough in her questions prior to beginning. Marilyn clearly believes in the medicine of accupuncture and helping people which got through some of my cynicism. She made me feel really comfortable and made sure I didn't have any questions or qualms before starting. I actually don't have any physical issues (knock on the old wood) aside from weak ankles from sports but it turns out that it's best to have accupuncture before you have problems as a preventive health measure. The needles did not hurt (a few stung for a second) and I could actually feel stirrings in my ankles from the needles in my scalp! The appointment lasted about 90 minutes but flew by. I am still not 100% sure about the powers of accupuncture but afterwards I had a feeling of euphoria akin to Peter in Office Space after hypnosis! I also had football practice that night and my previously sore left ankle felt pretty good. I know, it could all be in my head, but I really enjoyed the experience and made a second appointment.
