I was referred here by my friend, who happens to be a general surgeont o Dr. Chi-Chia Tai. There are a team of oral surgeons working here and their supporting staff definitely play leading roles in the overall experience at Durham Oral Surgery. The office itself is tucked away on a side street next to a Ford dealership and is an antique home conversion. They were extremely organized. When I checked in, they knew exactly who I was, and ticked me off their roster. I was scheduled in for a 9:45AM. It took me about 5 minutes to fill out a form (as I had never been before), and within 5 minutes I was whisked away for an x-ray. Make sure you take all jewellery from the neck up off (I forgot to take off my earings! Oops!) After that, the ladies processed my insurance claim. I am so glad I have group health benefits. Can you believe that wisdom teeth extraction (1 side = 2 teeth) comes in at a hefty price tag of $1000+ dollars?! Shortly after I was asked to watch an informative video regarding wisdom teeth extraction, and then Dr. Tai appeared. He was very informative, and easy to understand. He explained what he suggested, and asked me if I had any questions. Shortfly after the consultation, the nurse took me into the operating room. I underwent general anesthetics, and the surgery went painlessly. Sooner than I knew it, I was waking up and escorted to the waiting room where I was given instructions about the next few days and what to expect and to give you the date of your follow-up appointment. The nurse walks you straight out to your car (of course, William T was nice enough to take me as you cannot drive after surgery). The service doesn't end there. The day after surgery, you will receive a check-up phone call just to see how you are doing. I have worked in the medical field before, and the biggest guffaw about surgery is usually that there is no after-care. Most surgeons just want to do the operating, and then be rid of you. They also called me this morning to remind/confirm my follow-up appointment. I would definitely recommend going to Durham Oral Surgery to anyone who has to get their wisdom teeth removed.

I was worried that the experience would be traumatic for my daughter, but Dr. Klein made the process super easy. His staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to go over the all steps during the prep and answered all of my daughter's questions. I could tell that my daughter was more relaxed once her questions were addressed by the prep nurse. Dr. Klein also has a great sense of humor which also helped put my daughter at ease. We had 2 separate visits (once to remove 2 teeth from the top and again to remove 2 teeth from the bottom) and I must say, I was very impressed with how well the procedures went from prep to recovery. They are very patient with my son's questions and his need to understand everything they are doing in his mouth. Our appointments typically take longer than average, but that doesn't appear to be any problem to the staff here. They schedule an appropriate length of time, and we are never rushed out. The reception area is warm and friendly, with free coffee/tea and cookies, and a kids corner with a TV and Wii to keep kids entertained. We've been bringing our son here for several months now and cannot say enough about how happy we are with the service and treatment provided.

My husband insisted that I needed to go and found a local clinic, Brock North. "Don't worry," he said,"I'll be there holding your hand the whole time." Dr. Fernandez was very supportive and understanding of my panic (the result of a lifetime of truly horrible dental experiences). He told me that I needed a root canal, and I screamed (according to my husband), "Just pull it out!!." He insisted on saving the tooth. The root canal, 16 years later, is still brilliant. And 16 years later, I am still a patient. They didn't have any problem with my husband joining me for my appointments during the first four years, and my husband, son and daughter also became clients of Brock North Dental.
