Such reasonable pricing on dental care for my cat. Only complaint is it is hard to get through to them but well worth it.

The doctor is wonderful. I just cant help wondering if he knows how the front of the office is run. There is nothing modern day about the way his business is run. That's ok. HOWEVER....they do have several very big problems. One being returning phone calls. It just dosn't happen. The last time they went on vacation, there was nothing in their voice mail greeting to let you know that. I had to drive over there to find out they were not there. When calling, at the point you would normally leave a message, you are suddenly disconnected. This has happened to me several times. Last week my dog suffered a fall and an injury to her leg. There was NO getting ahold of anyone. I ended up going elsewhere. That clinic informed me of their awareness of issues over at Ambler Veterinary clinic. So today I went to get a copy of my dogs records as my new vet wanted them, and there was nothing in her folder. TI asked about the voice mail, the no return calls, and the woman there just smiled at me and said, "yes we have been having phone issues". Again? as always? She agreed to e-mail those records. We shall see what happens there. On my way out, i encountered a gentleman who told me he had been trying to reach them for a week!. I also noticed two signs on the door indicating the upcoming vacations. Great way to find that out! Dosn't matter now. I have found a new vet. read more

Our family has switched over to Dr.Piccone and Ambler Vet after leaving another clinic due to crazy price hikes over the years- and we could not be happier. Dr.Piccone has cared for all of my family's dogs and our beloved cat we've had for 17 years- we recently had to put my cat to sleep due to his health and they were so so kind during the process. Dr. Piccone and his staff are the BEST! I've been taking my cats to him for 20+ years. Always honest about your pet's health and what he can and can't do, and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for care. Yes, they had problems early on with answering calls, but in my experience, they always called me back as soon as they could, often the same day. And now Heather is a ROCK STAR! Have also had several cats put down by Dr. Piccone, and he and his staff are always empathetic and understanding of your grief. They light a candle at the front desk when an animal is put down. Don't hesitate to take your animal(s) to Dr. Piccone! It might take awhile to get an appointment, but once you're in, you're in and you'll never leave! LOL read more

If I could give no stars to this C-sucker I would. We received a distemper booster reminder from Piccone's office for our perfectly healthy six-year-old Havanese/poodle mix, Grady. Cutting to the chase two weeks, later our beloved boy was dead after suffering a horrifying and heart-wrenching grand mal seizure triggered by immune-mediated encephalitis as determined by Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Norristown. We spent over $5000 on emergency treatment to no avail. According to the information that we found this is one of the most severe reactions that can be elicited by a distemper vaccine. Here's the kicker. a single distemper shot as a puppy will protect the vast majority of dogs for life. Any Vet who administers distemper boosters is either seriously behind on their best practices education or just plain greedy. Every vaccine has dangers and to administer any that are not required either for profits or because of stupidity should be not be taken lightly if you really care about your pooch. I have gone here for over 20 years and had to leave due to the staff. Dr. Picone is great. Unfortunately recently with in the last few years, when I would call, no one ever answered the phone and when you left a message you were luck to get a call back. I was ok with it because we had gone there for so long and he knew my dogs. But when my lab was sick over the summer and I could not get anyone to call me back and I needed my dogs records as I was I NJ. Nothing... no call back... just a bereavement card when I had to put my sweet old boy to sleep. Not saying it is his fault but they need to call back. They need to answer the phones. When we were called back, Dr. Piccone went straight to work; he was very professional, but with a wonderful bedside manner and super easy to understand and talk to. We have been bringing our dogs to Dr. Piccone for decades. He is a straight shooter and does not sugar coat things but don't think for a second he doesn't care about your pet. He bent over backward to try to save our beloved cockapoo who was very sick - did a few surgeries to try to save her but when those didn't work he compassionately euthanized our dog. He didn't rush us out and gave us as much time as we needed to pull ourselves together and leave. It's a brutal experience but I knew Dr. Piccone had done everything possible to save our dog and never ever gouged us when we were desperate to save her. When reality strikes your pet, this is the vet you want. He also has a great sense of humor but mostly what you are going to see is "all business" which is the only way he can get through all his appointments. Also, don't be put off by the voicemail - if you have an important question or want to make an appointment leave a voicemail - Suzanne will always get back to you by the next day. What do you want ? I am a nurse who triaged a pediatric phone line so I personally know how important it is to stay on top of voicemails in any medical practice but again Dr Piccone deserves recognition for his kind heart (which my dog felt) and his competences as a great vet. Brought my little chihuahua here for a first-time visit and let me just tell you, my dog shakes anytime he goes to see a vet. My dog did NOT shake at all! He seemed like he really liked being there. This place was super cute and very clean! It's a really cute victorian home that welcomed us with a screen door and a nice breeze through the reception area. It smelled really good too! Usually vet offices smell or have dog hair all over, not this place. Once he was seen by the doctor he got a little nervous but doc gave him some dog biscuits...again, my dog is so picky and will only eat chewy treats! He didn't eat the treats at first but after 15 minutes he ate them! He was obviously very comfortable. He was wagging his tail the entire time he was in the room with the vet. It's a hike for me to come out here, but I think it will be so worth it! Love this place already. We are coming back to get his teeth cleaned. Our puppy came down with a case of kennel cough after being transported from his rescue and they fit us in the next morning so we could be seen to get it taken care of before the office closed for a week. They were very professional and had us come in through the back door with our pup to protect the other dogs since kennel cough is very contagious. Best vet around! We have been taking our animals (family dogs and now cats) here for 20+ years and it has always been the same; great care, genuine concern, and inexpensive. They offer anything from the basic visit/check up to bigger procedures such as spay/neuter, microchip and declawing. Their medications such as frontline and heartworm are also inexpenive. Although the facility looks old school on the surface, Dr. Marc and his staff take great pride in their profession. I will be devastated when he decides to retire. I've been coming to this clinic for years with my two cats. Often times, you have to leave a message and wait for a call back to schedule an appointment. It is unclear to me at this point, if Ambler Veterinarian Clinic is still in business?? It doesn't seem that they've updated their listing here on yelp, and I've left two messages yesterday and one today and have yet to hear back. They say their hours are from 9 AM till 8 PM Monday and Tuesday. Today is Tuesday, and every time I call, it goes to voicemail. My cat is due for his routine shots and also has a possible sprain from jumping off a window sill yesterday. I am hoping to be able to take him to his vet rather than to an emergency hospital to get seen, so I don't have to take him out on two separate occasions in his carrier, as that stresses him out greatly. Nevertheless, I'm not going to wait another day to have my cat examined. Unfortunately, I may have to look for a new vet for the assurance that someone will answer the phone, so I can address what I need to in a timely fashion, especially in emergency situations. I have lived in Ambler for eleven years, and currently have two dogs and two cats. Dr. Piccone has been kind and helpful, pleasant, and so is his staff! Dr. Piccone is practical, loves animals, and is an excellent vet. Yes, they sometimes need to put their phone on a messaging system due to high volume of calls when staff have their hands full. Unlike other vets I've been to with my dog, he lays out all options and is very up front with what things will cost, as well as what is necessary vs. optional. We went to this vet because he was recommended to us by a couple at the dog park. I wanted to go to a practice with one vet, so that our dog actually sees the same vet every time. We also felt that our old vet was always trying to sell us products and services. We are very pleased with our experience. We got an appointment for the same day I called. Dr. Piccone was thorough, answered our questions, and the fee for the exam as well as flea, tick and heartworm meds was very reasonable. He gave us what we needed and had some good (non-invasive, affordable) treatment recommendations for some minor issues my dog has. I have no doubt that our old vet would have recommended skin scrapings and lab work right away. The staff was also very friendly. We will definitely be back! read more

Love Dr. Piccone....he and his staff are friendly, always run on schedule, and offer terrific care at reasonable prices. I never feel rushed or pressured. Unfortunately since he is in practice alone, the office closes for a couple of weeks in July for vacation. Just my luck that my pup had loose stools with blood while they were gone. I went to Gwynedd Vet Hospital and although they said it would cost $100 dollars my end bill was $353. Oh, and a week later, my pup still had loose stools with blood.
